HLG refered to the 650R as "double ended" so I assumed that meant two.
Could it be that its supposed to replace a DE-HPS @650w? Using 2 boards on a hlg600 should possible but i dont like the idea for thermal performance, thats a lot of watts to put thru what im suspecting to be a smaller board. Id expect these new boards to give the High Light boards a run for their money.

Yeah, now that I've seen a better picture of the board (it looks smaller than I originally thought), I'm amending my previous prediction. My new speculation is two boards per 260, two to three per 320, and four per 650. I look forward to the big reveal.

It should be real good. Id love to see them do cheaper versions of this one as well using V1 diodes. It seems so much easier to gain performance by just halfing the watts in each diode than it is to get higher power performance better. Less heat in the diode.

HLG said on Instagram that the HLG 650R Is meant to be a DE-HPS replacement. I believe they said total output of 1700 PPF.

Damn, six is building a beast with that frame

Good to see him still cracking it, can't join IG.....I see what it does to people:-P
he's still smashing it, man! you can join IG and you can do it anonymously...i can show you the darkside. Insta brings out he biggest weed nerds.

No spectral adjustments beyond efficiency.
.
Common @Stephenj37826 , I knew it with these high ass efficiency #'s between 430-680nm being listed.
Photons equal out though for the most part in growth with the proper adjustments. Lukio is the king so should be good!
Idk man.
All you had to do was combine R-Spec & B-Spec with 740, increase boards to 344"s to get started & prob been at 2.6 with nicer growth traits.
Do that with 30% Optisolis & be the man (easier said then done) If you space the doides on the boards & reduce hotspots ( big 344's), remote the driver or at least separate it from the board, go back to finned slates or better with optional active fans on your site, then I'd be allot more Pro-Quantum Board.
If staying condensed then I'd consider covers. I get better, greener growth under 1300-2000umols of 96 covered then i do under 900-500 umols uncovered. Same plant. One cover missing did the test. Mq-620 checked the #'s. Just something to consider. Idk why exactly. Change spectrum in spectrum through the plastic, diffusion, idk?. Just is what i see. Same with the QB's if you wants run them lower but still have high ppfd.
Not par hot spots but bare diode hotspots. Examples posted on the hps led thread.
Very important info you should Pm me about. Pm=personal message only.
Apologies but that's my true opinion on what have interested me. Maybe you can sell more with a 3.0 umol/j & deffinetly increase results. But i was hoping for more Horticultural spectrum.
Either way, i support your endeavors & am her to help.
Lukio was a good pic. To showcase this light.
Should be a nice run in the hands of such a master grower! SBS of any sort?
