So it’s just a Rspec with lower amount of reds and like 3x the ammount of diodes not sure about that but I am waiting for that rack light tho that’s gonna be exciting I hope

I'm trying to understand how this is an upgrade to QB288 based lights. There are less diodes per board, and less red diodes than the Rspec. How is it more efficient of you have to run the individual diodes with more current?

Seems to me it has less diodes, not more. A HLG550 is 4 288's so it has 912 diodes, while the QB 648 Diablo has 666 diodes (weird number eh?) if you include the red diodes.
I'm guessing that a single QB666 will not be HLG's recommendation for a 4x4. They mention new 260w and 320w kits, which makes me think that one of these boards run soft is a 260, and run hard is a 320. That means two QB666s on the HLG650R, which means 1,332 diodes - a far cry more than the HLG550.

This is just my speculation, based on HLG's IG post. I could be misinterpreting it.

dunno...not sure i like the spread? im probs wrong.

i just wanna see their new rack light...another white plus red panel is just another white plus red panel...isnt it?
I agree on the spread. Seems like the reds are too far off-center. Could be wrong though? I guess they must have their reasons!

I was more comparing to one Rspec board not a whole 550 had to clarify this because I just saw it and it said more diodes per I should have said board but that’s what I mean

Plus it looks way more spaced out so it’s possible that one of these new boards could do a 2x4 another thing I don’t like is only having 18 deep red and not using Osram but I haven’t seen the specs of the Osram reds vs the Sammy reds

Man, I wish I had the budget to get one of their lights for my 4x4, but I'm pretty sure the only way I will be able to afford anything close to theirs lights will be to build my own. Does anyone know when they will be releasing some specs on the strip lights they are working on?
