The far red thread

Did you put them on stars yourself ?
I went a little fast and placed my order, without thinking about size and stars :dunce: No soldering experience here (yet) :/

Is it manageable to connect them without stars ?

Wish I had waited and got them from led-tech.de :dunce::dunce:
Not a bad skill to learn, it comes in handy.

Sorry, didn't realize they were available mounted.

I made a thread on reflow soldering that has everything you need. I can make a comprehensive list and instructions when I have some time if you want. I even have a file for a updated solder stencil that I haven't used yet. It should make it easier with less chance of problems like tilting

Thanks for the info.
Although I think I will just buy oslons on stars.
Looks like it will be cheaper (and lazier ) for me that way, as I only plan to setup 10 of them ... tools I would have to buy to reflow would probably cost more.

:peace:

So I got around to building my first Flower initiator
First time soldering too !

I'm a little confused as I expected the red to look "further" than it does  ... even checked my order again, thinking I ordered deep red instead of far red. But receipt does say CS8PM1.24-3S4S.

Can anyone confirm I have the right color from the picture ? I know it's hard to tell from a pic, it does look even redder in reality too...

Yeah.. looks good to me. My 730 was red as well; it doesn't get dark until like... ~800nm.

Sweet... Those LEDS look happy on that big heatsink!

Far Red in my experience is visually a little dimmer and darker red than 660nm. Still red though..

Probably a bit of light you can't see.. My uva can't be seen much until you turn the colors down and you can see white things glowing

I just tried 730nm allways, in the beginning of week 6 (2 weeks before harvest). Have seen very much stretch, plants which grow continously. I did not know that 730 nm was on, bummer. Will plants go back to flower and how long would it take to harvest? Does anyone has an idea?

730nm should only be used towards sundown, whether in vegetation, flowering or both. I've used it before, leaving it on ~10 minutes after lights out. Stretch should die down around the third week of flowering if introduced during the first week of flower.

When using 730nm, as mentioned above, my blue widow went from ~12 inches at the end of x30 days of vegging, to ~40 inches after week four of flowering. She eventually stopped growing vertically, standing close to 46 inches tall.

malfunction of my timer. Cheap stuff.
But cool to hear that you "tried" it also. Did it had any effect of flowering time and did it had any effect on your harvest? Are plants still in flower-mode or are they in Veg-mode?
