thanks, it's helpful to me as I'm looking for some comparisons for my 4on/11off test clone - it's right at 20 earth days of 12/12 and it's not as far along as yours. Not the results I'd like, but it's an experiment - you get what you get :) will take a shot in a bit when the lights go on.

So wanted to know if my 730nm and 660nm were helping at all....

This is a Purple Haze put into 12:15/11:45 4 daze ago

Not really quantitative as i have no comparison...but much faster (early flower) development to what i am used to seeing.

This is directly under a neutral white XP-G2 with supporting pontoon guff.

I'm not knocking your experiment in the least, but from everything I've read, I'm not sure why anyone wants 730nm during the full light's on period.

ive had late veg pistils, but nowhere near as long as what you got going on.

Great job chron! I JUST got my 730's reshipped yesterday... guess the holiday's just ended over in China, another 28-32 day wait :wall::cuss::cuss::finger:

Yea I wanna shorten flower time, I've dabbled here and there... but just upgraded to a badass multimeter, so now its time to get serious about being to able to know what I am testing. I have 150+ random emitters from my pro grows, im using the heatsinks from those for my wannabe pontoons, im not worried about more of a light cycle (electric), but if I could shave some time off total days flower? Think thats feasible?

Oh nice...DIY isnt that hard...(well my soldering still needs a lot of practice) and fuck is it addictive...all of my projects are still alive so i must be doing something right.

Yip Multimeter a must...cheap or expensive....mine cost $10 :)

The preliminary results i have had in my early stage of flowering suggest it is highly feasible....and if it doesnt work ...at least you will get your dick wet in the DIY world.....hmmmm maybe i should rethink putting: penis's, water and electricity in the same sentence.. ;)

I'm kinda surprised with my 730 at lights out run. I got pistils about 7 days in which is the fastest for me under any kind of lighting...but they are finishing at a more normal pace. I actually think I was a bit farther ahead in flowering at 50 days when I had the 730 on full time. Flowering could be a little behind because I added in in some blues too though...still fast..

still trying to to figure out if the 730 is worth using or not. Should probably do a run without it and see if white heavy panels even need it...

Thats interesting about your flowering ahead at 50 daze with the 730nm on full time. So that is just compared to other times without? with same strain?

I've never run my DIY panel without the 730 so I don't know how fast it would flower without it. Next run I'm going to leave it completely out and see how long flowering takes.

my first run, same strain, with 730 on full time was a touch more developed at 50 days. I'm just noticing more white pistils at day 50 than last run.

Might be more enlightening to run 13/11 with end of cycle 730 on one run, then follow up a 13/11 without any 730. That should show whether it's working or not.

maybe it was only necessary when running red/blue lights with zero 730 and flowering wouldn't commence.

Maybe it would be more useful with long flowering sativas?? Lots of questions...answers should come with time..

Dont get me wrong, the only DIY'ing ive done is my 4250 A51/Progrow Frankenstein, and overtesting emitters and scrapping em out... then months later read somewhere that ppl use a couple 9v batteries?? where in the fuck have I been!? I think it was positivity's link to the cheap 730's that I bought... thanks bruv! Kindve stumbled onto the meter, old and bulky, but everyrthing id ever need and hten some...

Yea being a hydro dude... last thing I wanna do is introduce my dick into that equation... zzzAP!

sounds like a side by side might be in my future before long... good points too, makes you wonder..

be safe guys!

Popcorn here. Get your popcorn

Taking a page from the floods/cobs, here's the direction I want to go: COBs+ spyder heat sinks + parabolic reflectors

Can you customise your spectrum with these...?

What happened to the 2 x 4 panels you were getting....? (i forget the size you were getting)

Got the 2 x 4 panel, and a 1 x 4. My partner installed the 2 x 4 yesterday. I should see it tomorrow. He says it's bright. Keep in mind it's 5000K for office lighting. Also great for veg.

I searched several similar cob/reflector companies, but found no options for cobs without going to china and placing a minimum order plus heavy shipping cost.

I figure upgrading the cob should be relatively simple

Good find, but only 6500K. vg for some office/warehouse lighting. VG for veg too, but I prefer a bit more red to promote root growth- ~5000K

Keep in mind, I started the 2 x 4 panel search > 6 months ago.

These new cob/reflector style are easier to install. 2 of those in a 2 x 4 tent would do some serious vegging.

For flowering 2 of 2 cob at ~ 5000K + 3 of the single 50-75w multicolored, like I ordered, to go between and on each end should be killer

Best is they can be ordered as $$$ are available.
