I got another email from grasshopper and they said still August. They said they fixed a problem and the next shipment will have ones that have been corrected. They said the price will change soon.

It's called Lazyness friend..................Timer is on straight power 24/0, when ready, flip over the switch to 12/12, no messing with those tiny fucking notches .

probably no difference with 18/6, six hrs of darkness shouldn't do much imo
Amen brother, loud and clear on that. Eff those little notch bastards ┌∩┐(ಠ_ಠ)┌∩┐.

Yeah the DIY COB crowd has it pretty good but if Litecool, (http://www.litecool.co.uk/), ever gets it's tech out to more people/companies, building single-dies will be almost as easy as any COB. Solder free pick and place. Love this company ATM. Great tech. Those new OSRAM/Oslons built into these would would rock I bet. Hans should get in on this to help cool and simplify his panels.

"First products, expected to be in volume production by the end of this year, are likely to have generation-3 Cree LED die running at 1A and, according to Litecool, be capable of nearly 150 lm/W."

Day off...............shit/shaved/showered, was productive..........update time

Round 2 Day 7 of 12/12 from seed under Osram's "two band lite-brite" panel(125w)== with my 3 NL bitches

001.JPG 003.JPG 004.JPG 005.JPG .......well, I went digging for the fourth girl and found a dried up taproot, sounds about right with my growing from seed history. Moral of the story? don't ever let me babysit your kids! ..... plant in "haters" spot looks ok so far. Good growth rates even with slight leaf curl(temps). Still just de-chlorinated water until they show me some fade.

006.JPG 007.JPG ..........wtf does 29 c mean?lol.......toasty in philly.

Distributor finally gives the ok for pics of the insides(driver specs)...............bada bing............now I just want a par foot print chart?! hard to believe #s(almost 1200umol/s @ 24") off of 125w, even with these magic secondary lenses that have zero light spill........I want answers osram:)

1200(1180)µmols is the centerbeam PPFD
DO030_ZELION HL_hr.jpg and to give you an idea what that means...
the PPFD chart from the Kessil H380
at 12" we have a centerbeam of 1559 µmols

GrowersHouse_kessilH380.jpg

Btw. the PPFD calculation i see in some forumposts here, is some sort of Disney-Math

Yes, center beam #(check first post ;-))........I want the 3x2 footprint chart. It's been a long wait......no offence to the distributors, but Osram can easily give it to us imo.

Someone on the interwebzzzz must have measured this fixture by now?...have you ever heard of ILT par meters/measuring services before? unknown to me....

Thanks little devil

I am gonna pick up the sunsystem meter w/remote sensor after this run is over. I believe at 16in w/ the zelion it 1000 or better all way round, but I wanna see it with my own eyes. I would say there measurement they got was max center? I will see in couple months. I wouldn't be surprised if its higher than I think? with the 451s high reading?

I seen the other day on my zelion3x2 that it was made in china., Th zelionHL is made in china but this one has the highest standard of manufacturing in it! Does it mean assembled in china with componets built elsewhere?

Now, what about the scenario GreenGenes was talking about where a par meter reading taken off center is skewed due to the meter being calibrated to average the input for a 1 sq m area?

Yes, the oslons chips in the zelion fixtures where made at osram factories in Malaysia/Germany

pcb/lens/driver/heatsink/mechanical shell are made in China

It was designed in the US(electrical, optical, mechanical) and Germany(thermal) BUT was manufactured and assembled in china to keep cost down:shock:....ha

All regulatory testing was done at Austin,TX..........straight from the horse's mouth

Before it was bulldozed, paved and made safe for Dell laptop assembly plants and OSRAM LED factories, I lived on the island of Penang, it was a tropical paradise with amazingly friendly people who no doubt only exist in my memories now.

Very sad, even if it is 'progress'.
