I have no idea about other soils that I havnt used but EJ is a good company I would assume its probably to hot for a base though maybe an ingrediants list?

well i think im going to use a seedling starter mix... its been phd to 6.7 and has no nutes would this work and would i need to do anything since the soil is completely cold

Ok Sub here's the ingredients I'm thinking it is pretty hot and I am using Black Gold Coco Blend right now which isn't too hot at all so I was thinking of using the Amazon Bloom for the 3/4 of my pot and the BGCB for the top soil to transplant into what do you think?? I'm just super lazy and don't really have room to mix soil like you so I'm thinking it will work considering the Black Gold bag says you don't need to use anything but water for the first 2 weeks...

Id run that at a rate of 8 bags to start with and start with adding 33% concentrate in the lower part of the pot. That should be perfect but if its to cool for some strains you can up the amount of Super to like 50%

So I should do 33-50% Amazon Bloom and the rest of the pot Black Gold Coco Blend ?? I'm probably gonna try it out either way cuz I have a gut feeling about it and my gut has never been wrong so I'll report back asap..

What if I cant find a 7 gallon pot? Could I just use a 5 gallon and veg for a shorter time?

And if weather is cold and you cant let the soil bake in the sun, you say that I can just let the mixed soil sit in a garbage can for a month and then its ready to use?

In 5 gallons fade can start as early as day 30 of budding.

I use min 7 gallon pots and my standard is a 10

hey subcool. I've visited your pages a number of times and commented, only under a different name. thanks for all your hard work and sharing. one thing about Soil 101 bothers me.

I am planning to use your super soil in my cabinet. (8" dia x 8" round pots or 1-2 gallon bags. but in your thread you dont suggest the super soil for under 7 gallon pots. I have a lot of experience in there and I don't see why it wouldn't work. it's certainly a superior mix then any commercial soil.

can you please expand on the reason? or an educated guess of smaller pot size and shorter veg time? (perhaps half the ingredients for a less 'hot' mix that would work.) I will be collecting the ingredients soon for a potent organic soil and I would love to start with this excellent soil mix; I just dont have the space for 7 or 10 gallon pots.

I suppose I should read a good organic gardening book and try to extrapolate my own good mix from the information. but you have such great results from yours. thanks again for sharing. please reply if you have the time.

I am sure it has many applications so experiment and see what ya come up with. I put this how to together based on a system I know works I use the larger pots with amazing results.
When used in smaller pots we ran outa gas to soon and had to water way to often causing many nutrients to be flushed out of the soil.

I was thinking of using Gardner & Bloome as a base mix but it has alot of the ingredients of your mix which makes me think it may be too hot for the top. I may need to cut it with top soil or potting soil. What do you think?

Compost ingredients: Composted Red wood, Forest Humus and Bark Fines screened to a uniform 1/4" minus size. The compost is further blended with Chicken Manure, Worm Castings, Bat Guano, gypsum, and Kelp Meal. Oyster shell and Dolomite Limes are added as pH adjusters (pH=6.5) plus mycorrhizae.

It comes in 3 cuft bales. Thx in advance

after a grow, can this mix be composted by worms over the period of a new grow( so about 2 months)
to be reused again?
would more bone meal and guano stuff be added after the compost period?

Store it inside like a garage or heated area. OR at least make sure there placed in sunlight when it shines

WE make most of ours in warmer months and try and not run out when its frozen.

Hey everyone...just wanted to let you all know how amazing this soil recipe is...I made a half batch a few months back and let it cook for a month or so...I have some Jilly Beans (2 females) which I had placed into 7 gallon bags and tied down to make a nice thick bush...though I almost lost them to neem oil poisoning, they recovered very very well and I lost about 3 weeks time...this just go's to show you how top quality genetics such as TGA's and top quality soil can make the seemingly impossible very possible...thanks Sub and I know I have not been on Breedbay in a while, I just cant connect to the site for some reason...I will finish my grow report of JillyBean in Supersoil right here on RIU...pics commin very soon...throwing the girls into flower tomorrow...but for right now im gonna smoke this bowl of bad ass white widdow...keep it organic everyone...peace....

What up subcool. I read your write- up it high times last month and I just have to give it a try. Seeing the outdoor season is comin up I was wondering if you have ever tried this mix outdoors? Would the nutes even last the whole season? I'm planning on using very large pots- maybe even garbage pails. If the nutes run out could you top dress the lil ladies for the remainder? Ill be planting purple #1 , love potion #2, and sour diesel x kush.

does the mix smell when baking?

When I made it there was no odor...when you let it cook if the moisture is correct you will have no odor's....just smells like soil...better yet...like super soil
