Jill yields much more than I can on a single location and with some strains I swear there a bit more potent but I dont smoke chemical buds so its really hard for me to judge. They burn my throut and leave a taste on my tougue.
Organic buds are sweeter and milder.

Sorry for all the questions, but if you were to scale down your supersoil formula for growing somewhat-SOG style in one gallon pots would the smaller pot size warrant a feeding schedule? Or should the smaller pots have enough nutes for the proportionally smaller plants?

I just saw the pic you posted of the Roots soil and the ingredients. I'm interested to know why you add the other ingredients to it when you make your super soil -- the Roots already has more fertilizer in it than the soil I'm using alone!

The ingredients in mine are coconut coir, worm castings, perlite, green sand and black rock phosphate. I was planning to stick with this until flowering, just adding a bit more worm compost on top at some point during vegging. Then I was just going to go to bat guano for flowering. Is this enough? Also, why do you wet your soil and let it sit in the sun? Is mixing it and watering it and having your plants in the sun the same thing, or does it actually increase the benefit of the nutes the way you do it?

Why doesn't Jill grow hydro organic? What nutes does she use?

Wait...is Purple Urkel yours?? I smoked some of that about a year ago and I was baked as cake!! That stuff was amazing!

Ha, okay, I'm done being the bat of many questions...FOR NOW!!!!! :)

My soil has been developed over 3 decades of growing, All I know is it works like crazy.

I cook my soil so that the micro and bio creatures can activate and start breaking down the soil.
Soil is a live thing and I treat it as such.

Why doesn't Jill grow hydro organic? What nutes does she use?

Hydro Organic is extremly complicated and PH is impossible to control
She uses GH and Lucus formula

Querkle is mine Urkle is a clone only strain we use as a mother plant.

It's interesting you say that the organic hydro nutes are hard to work with. I almost bought Fox Farm because so many people on here rave about it, but the guy at the hydro store said the same thing as you so I went with GH instead.

What does "clone only strain" mean?

mhmmm.... Clone only means that at some point someone germinated a seed that happened to be a super amazing female. You can't get another plant just like it from a seed. There are only clones of that plant.

Subcool,

Using this soil in a 5 gallon container, how long do you think it'd take before your soil nutes would be depleted and you'd have to refertilize?

You cant do my method in a 5 gallon.
They run out of gas and the pot dosnt have enough surface area for large yeilds.
In 5 gallons fade can start as early as day 30 of budding.

I use min 7 gallon pots and my standard is a 10

This SQ featured gave us 8.5 ounces last run

So with your standard ten gallon pot and the super soil mix, would you have the capacity to grow a well nourished plant through all stages of its life [excluding seedlings, obviously] without feeding it nutes/refertilizing? Or should I use nutes as well? What do you recommend?

i am in the process of reading all your threads...thank you for sharing this knowledge with us...i am about to start a cfl-soil grow...i found 2 1/2 lb bone meal(vigaro)and 2 1/2 lb blood meal(vigaro) at home depot...the only potting soil i can find is miracle grow...3 different kinds one of which is water retaining...also regular top soil...they also have ironmite trace minerals...and i saw pearlite...this is going to be the bulk of what i could mix with that is available locally...i havent seen any bat guano of any kind...could i mix up something out of this that would work for a first indoor grow...oh...also i saw alaskan fish liquid or alaskan kelp liquid...not sure...saw it was omri listed...any advise would be greatly appreciated

.
Subcool.... I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread.
.
I've been growing for just over 30 years now. The last 10 years, I have grown only Organic and only in Soil. I have always promoted feeding low, slow & steady. A concept the grow it quick (hydro), pour it out of a bottle crowd, has a problem wrapping their minds around.
.
You have inspired me to mix up a batch of Super Soil and give this a go. I already use about all of the amendments you recommend and Love Soil.
.
Thank You very much for this thread and the great info. + rep for all you do.
.
Keep it Real....Organic......
