The entire thing fails with the first premise. The universe is not infinite. I think someone else mentioned it, if you incorporate other universes (that might exist, which we can't measure, which means it is irrelevant) the premise holds, but not for our single universe.

Goddamn this is ignorant. Honestly, go educate yourself, I hope you grow up soon.

I would like to believe in intelligent design. But I'm too rational of a person.

I don't deny the possibility that god or gods exist, but I'm more interested that most of the time people perceive God or gods as anthropomorphic with human-like features. In such a VAST and strange universe, if god(s) exists, then said being(s) are probably something far different than we expect. Why would said being(s) be interested in a masochistic, self-destructive, animal species such as ourselves, on a tiny planet, orbiting a tiny star, in our island of a galaxy out of the billions of others? That's always been a piece of logic that I can't get around when it comes to religion.

in the bible it says that we were made in "their" image. this is what it says: 1:26 where it says, "and God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness."

even if your not religious. study the koran, the bible. much can be learned from these texts. though primitive are the explanations of some things, use your modern mind to try to think of what our ancestors were trying to say.

In an infinite universe where all things are possible... G*D has a Mom...and she beats his arse. G*D's Mom has a drunk dad who rapes her all the time.

In an infinite universe where all things are possible.

I've proposed this to people before and never had a decent refutation. This seems like a fair crowd to put this forth.

In an infinte universe anything that is possible will occur. Basic statistics. Infinte group, infinite subsets. If from an infinite set off choices to describe the creation of the universe (which is an oxymoron in itself. "So what was it before it was the universe?") the theory that a being/entity/god sufficiently advanced as to be incomprehensible to homo (semi)sapien created all that we pecieve should be admitted as a possibility. In an infinite set all things that can be, are. The universe is infinate, god is a possibility;therefore, god exists... beyond this conclusion I'm as clueless as the rest.
GOD is real everyone who reads this post will have a concept of what GOD is or means or stands for so being that everyone knows about GOD, GOD exists

To me that means god(s) is(are) capable of sin. So if we were created in his image, since we are fallible, so is god? lol Trying to follow your logic.

Plus I don't like idea of one or several almighty beings being above reproach when it comes to the decisions and actions that god(s) might take. Sure, WE may be constantly judged by the 10 commandments, or the 5 pillars, but who's governing God(s)? Who's to say that what he or they are doing isn't sins in and of themselves? I just don't trust him, that is, assuming he exists, and assuming it's a he AND assuming that there's only one god.

Now you are delving into a subject far beyond mans sight and comprehension.

But I like it.

However. Your saying this in our perspective. These commandments and pillars fit our lives. How would God or God's live by our rules/commandments/principles? Is he/they not higher than us? Would he/they not obey his/their own set of ideals/values?

Sorry for all the /'s lol.

If we are of their image, and their likeness. Then we share love, and hatred. So I believe it is possible for God(s) to be fallible to sin. But perhaps in their own way that we will never understand.

its very hard to argue against this if you're basically saying everything is right, wrong, and in between. more so than are you prooving god you are also proving that I will someday be flighing around and time traveling without a spaceship and morph into shit and etc. I mean, you're saying everything is right, wrong, and in between and even that doesn't exist. so basically you're like dividing by zero or something

There are definitely parts of the bible that are true. It would be ignorant to think that through the thousands of years since Jesus himself was alive, nobody has altered the texts of the bible, for various reasons. Just because the bible states "and God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.", does not in any way make it an accurate quote from God himself. God is just another term for Buddha, Allah, etc.... Christianity, Catholicism, Islam, Judaism, etc., all have their truths and their fallacies. I know Buddhists that are far better people than some Christians, and Christians that are better than Buddhists. Do you really think that an all forgiving, all loving god (Christianity) would send great Buddhist people to hell for being raised to believe in Buddha and not Jesus and God? There is no religion that has everything sowed up as the absolute truth. What I do believe is that there is a universal divine entity, that was responsible for the creation of the universe. There are an unfathomable number of perfect things in nature and the universe that keep it in balance. Just something that is far too much of a coincidence to be created from something that could not have existed in the first place(star dust and gasses of the big bang theory). Everybody has a right to their opinion. I don't believe that there is a human that can truely understand the expanse of our universe, but those that at least have a grasp of the concept, should believe nothing other than a divine being. I actually just watched a video of Stephen Hawking saying that science has found the answer to our existence, and that the universe spontaneously created itself out of absolutely nothing (not even a single molecule existed at one time). I am not arguing that I am smarter than a hair on his head, but if this is the proof that science is trying to push, it just makes me feel so much better about my beliefs. To me it is a no brainer.

I'm not hating, just debating. Smokin some blue dream, and its got me feeling real nice!

If you mean "we" by our bodies - in the dirt. (or cremated)

But if you mean our consciousness, that's another question.

Another question is why do you think our brains continue to carry consciousness after we die.

Extremely simplistic explanation of extremely complicated scientific theories. I'm counting three different ones so far...

That's what I'm talking about dude, you don't know the science. That's all. It's ignorance. Go get educated, that atheism thread I posted is a good start, but it'll take a lot more than that to understand each of these theories.

THIS IS THE STUPID ASS SCIENTIFIC THEORY THAT YOU ARE ALL FOLLOWING BY THINKING THAT GOD DOESENT EXIST.
Wrong. Not every atheist believes in evolution. (only the smart ones)

(BY THE WAY IF THATS TRUE THEN WHY THE FUCK DONT WE HAVE THE MISSING LINK?DO YOU SEE HALF HUMAN HALF APES WALKING AROUND?DIDNT THINK SO)
We do have the "missing link" - we have THOUSANDS of "missing links" as a matter of fact. Each and every species that has ever lived is a transition from the ones that came before it, to the ones that come after it. Even you yourself are a "missing link". Your skeleton will exist after you die and scientists that discover your remains in the future will place it in between the skeletons that existed 3 million years ago and the ones that will exist 2 million years from now.

SLAP YOURSELF IN YOUR DUMBASS IGNORANT MOUTH
