Really?
Why not just accept others are different from you, and exactly why does their sexual orientation bother you? Homosexuality is not contagious, your children won't catch it. I have many gay mates and they are human just like me they just are attracted to something I'm not so who really cares what they do in private, and who they want to marry.

I love gay people..they buy everything and have the cash..I'm thinkin' win-win here.

Most people get married because they love each other and want to be life partners. Not because they will get some official government benefits. Which is why many gays want to get married, benefits, not love.
No you are wrong, they get married one for love and two so they have the same rights and privileges and yes liabilities of other married couples.
How would you like it if your spouse of 29 years dies and you are entitled to nothing? No pension, no insurance, not even welcome to the funeral of the family didn't want you there you are entitled to nothing because your relationship is deemed immoral by others? You take your rights for granted while gays have had to fight for everything they have gained, it's obvious some of you are blinded by religious teachings and prejudices and societal perceptions of norms.
It's wrong to discriminate against anyone because you think it's not normal or natural, it's obviously natural for them and not a lifestyle choice.

No one ever mentions the Liabilities.
It's funny the many of the same churches fighting gay marriage now where the same ones fighting interracial marriage 4 decades ago

Jesus said this about the Pharisees and false prophets in Matthew
Matthew 7:3-5New International Version (NIV)
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brothers eye.
Listen to what your lord and saviour Jesus christ says, get your own lives and sins in order before you point out others sins!
Another one is let he who has not sinned cast the first stone. Christianity is all about being humble and accepting of others not what these false prophets have made it and twisted it into something ugly and hateful and all the sheep follow and parrot their false religious ideology. So please don't use Jesus as a excuse for your personal prejudices, and don't pervert his path of love and tolerance because whether you know it or not your religion begins and ends with the New Testament, the Old Testament is for Judaism it is part of the original book called the Torah, but most christians can be seen quoting it. If you follow the old book you are actually a Mesopotamic Jew not a new order Christian.

Not what I believe in.
It's Christian Homophobia. You do know about hyperlinks.

I'm not bothered by queers. I am very secure in my heterosexuality. It doesnt threaten my worldview, morals or religous convictions. As it does yours
Lmao! Didn't think it was so hard to understand my English. I am not threatened. Can't be by gays as they pose no threat to my wife, lol! Nothing threatens my worldview, morals, or convictions. I just enjoyed the debate.
Mmmmmmmmm..daaaaaaaaaabs:wink:
yes they are great. You may need to lay off though, as I'm sure that post blew by you too.

Oh please I studied for 2 years in a catholic seminary in Boston because I wanted to be a priest.
Please do not try to argue theology with me, you will lose, I have also studied Judaism and Islam so if you'd like to correct me please do.

This is what she is going to come back with
Yes, your grade school education at a catholic school gave you all the knowledge you need to make an informed decision based off your incorrect material you have presented here. I too went to catholic school. Your claim to authority is a poor one.
That was after I told her I studied theology in A catholic college prep school

I'm confused here. Are you saying that me being for civil rights is bad or good?

I would actually love a theology debate! 2 years of seminary means you can hopefully hold your own. So what topics would you like to discuss?

I would also recommend you read the whole thread before responding here. You might see my points.

Imagine every person in the USA getting survivor benefits. 18 year olds getting survivor benefits because they married the old 98 year coot down the street in a quickie ceremony. Just because thy live in different cities and never see or speak to each other means nothing, so pay up sucker, they are officially married.

I'm sure SS will survive that one.
stupid fucking bigot.

You tell me, I'm not the one who said I don't know what I'm quoting so let's start there.

if you're for civil rights then you support that gay couple in couer d'alene that wants to get married at the hitching post.
It's quite simple, according to the Bible a marriage is between a man and woman whom come together as one. The woman came from man, and through the marriage are coming back together to be completed. Therefor, the marriage cannot happen. this applies to any same sex couple trying to get married in a Christian ceremony.
You tell me, I'm not the one who said I don't know what I'm quoting so let's start there.
My first quote of yours was misdirected as I thought that post was from Chesus, so I apologize for that one. I'm still not sure which side of the fence you are on. Reread my posts here to see I am for equal rights. I am no bigott as UB has tried to imply over and over here.

As for a debate I'm up for any topic. I've spent years of my life also studying Christianity, Judiasm, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. I have thoroughly studied apologetics. It really doesn't matter to me.

well I don't think the religious order has a say in these matters as this is a state issue, do I think gay men and wome should marry in a Christian church? No I don't, and why would they want to? But should they have all the same rights and responsibilities as a heterosexual couple yes I do. I only say no to a Christian wedding because the church has not evolved enough to accept gay unions, does God hate gays no, do a lot of christians hate gays oh yes they do. My whole point is who are we to judge people? Does not God judge us all at the end? Will God reject you because you didn't love everyone and judged them for their sins whilst acting pious and ignoring your own? We can't just love those who are the same as us we must love everyone and especially the ones society shuns because as a Christian that's what Jesus would do. He washed the feet of philistines, prostitutes and criminals and recruited the lowest from society to be his disciples. He said
34 r“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. sI have not come to bring peace, but a sword.35 rFor I have come tto set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.36 uAnd a person's enemies will be those of his own household. 37 vWhoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 wwhoever does not take his cross and xfollow me is not worthy of me. 39 yWhoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
in other words you must reject what those around you say if it is not the path of Christ, you must turn away from those that pervert the scripture whether it be family or friend, even if it costs you everything! That's what a Christian is and yes that means defending gays, and anyone else that is oppressed and discriminated against
