I use a 3 gallon bucket and a net pot with the bottom cut out. The net pot is used to hang the paint sock into the water.

I make 3 gallons of TEA at a time and this is what I put in it:

Directly in the bucket

  • 3 gallons R/O water
  • 5 ml Orca
  • 5 ml Roots Excelurator

In a "sock type" paint filter dipped into the bucket:

  • 1 handful of Earth Worm Casting
  • 3 handfuls of Humisoil

Put an air pump with at least 1 watt per gallon of TEA (in my case 3 watt pump) and put one airstone in the paint sock with the EWC and Humisoil and the other airstone directly in the water. You want the water to be turbulent so that there is good oxygenation for the bacteria and fungi to grow.

I updated the post:

The paint sock can be purchased at Home Depot in the paint section, just ask where the strainers are. I use the 5 gallon version because I don' think the 1 gallon version will work. I brew the TEA for 48 hours, but a little more or less won't hurt it too much. You can then refrigerate the TEA uncovered for 7-10 days. Make new TEA when it gets to day 8 and you will have continuous TEA.

You may need 5 gallons but I doubt it. Try 3 gallons and see if that lasts you 7-10 days because if it does then you will be fine. After 10 days the TEA really needs to be disposed of and replaced.

Can you wait until Saturday to start the TEA? If so I can bring the compost tea catalyst down and you will love the results when compared to molasses, much less biofilm. I understand that it is pricey to get everything going with my ingredients because I make BALLER TEA and I don't know any other way to make it.

Hey guys, I thought I could start my own thread, but I trust your guys' opinion, so I'll just ask here. I have a relative unexpectedly coming over for a night or two. I was just wondering how long I can shut off everything off for before my plants won't 'bounce' back? It's kind of one of those situations where I can't just say 'no', so any help would be appreciated because I don't want to move anything and definately don't want to throw anything away. I should mention that everything is setup in the spare bedroom. :| I have a lock on the door now, and can let them sleep in mine and my girlfriend's bed and sleep on an inflatable mattress in the living room, but I would have to shut everything down for a day or two... Surely this must have happened to someone during a power outage. Any advice would be great, thanks guys! Again, sorry for hijacking Berk!

I should be okay, I never thought to let the daylight in... and I was just freaking out a little when I heard they might be coming. Turns out they're probably going to stay at a friend's place. This is somehow relevant to Berk's encounters with maintenance. But none the less, I'll figure it out. That would suck so close to the end of flower! I'm about a month into veg, so no problems really, but I did just top them so I don't really need them more stressed out. But damn they're nice and green. :) I was just spazzing. I'm fine now. I think. lol

Edit: A jug of nute water from the res manually put on should help too - no noises. I'm Ebb and Flow too - btw

Glad to hear everything will be ok. Unforeseen circumstances like this are really annoying.

It looks like I have another week or so left but the weight keeps getting packed on every day I wait so it is a worthwhile wait.

I love how the plant will sacrifice the leaves to try to protect the buds. Gonna be nice bro!
Yeah the leaves are taking the brunt of the damage. The tips of the buds directly under the bulb are a little sun bleached but again the leaves are taking most of the damage, mother nature is pretty fucking cool! :o

I am going to try to veg in the aero cloner for a few weeks to see if I can cut out veg time (and save money) in the bigger tent. The only problem I can see is that the roots may get too big to get out of the hole. The plus side to vegging in the aero cloner will be lower electricity costs and lower nutrients costs due to the smaller reservoir size.

Here are some pics of the clones. The roots are looking pretty good to me and I think they are ready for nutrients so I started week 1 veg nutes. Let' see how they do...

Thx, yes they are regular sprinkler heads found at Home Depot. I figured I would try the cheap way and see how it works. I think I may get roots a little quicker with the little red EZ Clone misting tips so I may try those in the future but this seems to be working pretty well for now.

Here are some instructions to make an aero cloner with the EZ clone misters: http://www.growery.org/3037/Make-your-own-Aeroponic-Cloner

I found it after I made my cloner. I will probably redo my plumbing to accommodate the misters but for now this cloner is doing just fine.
