i have takin it out and flipped it several times and i took it out for a day and was dabbing it after the first 9 hours.

try de-vacing the chamber and letting the slab sit for 10 to 20 mins with the heat at 100 to 110, then turn the pump back on and if it doesn't do anything it is probably done

i find its harder to get wax after winterizing, ive fuqd up and cooked a bit too high during vac and it did get the same result as you, but after i began winterizing and air evaping before the pump, there hasnt been a time i didnt get shatter, with the same human errors.

and winterizing gives delicious gold goodness sooooo thats a thing

I've waxed up a slab or two of -20f winterized in the vacuum chamber at <= 107f.

well i believe that is because thickness is you enemy my friend, rather than temp tho, thin layering is the key.... dont get me wrong i purge low temp, because i love terps but when i slip and overcook we just get flavorfree but still got clarity

It was thin. Resulting wax layer was 1/16" avg.

How's it lookin dudes, Bubba Kush Nug Run, purged for 3 days straight. Lots of flipping, vac purged on low temps, around 110.

Came out to be a 30 gram patty .

Consistancy is pull and snap at room temp but breaks at colder temps?

Can you get complete shatter breakibility without winterizing?

Just wondering what everyone uses to spread their party thin when first sprayed?

I personally feel a proper shatter will snap at 100F or below.

pull n snap shatters are much easier to make. I mostly make pull n snaps.

I've been told by a knowledgeable man that shatter is of lower quality than wax.

Any opinions? I like them both

Some of it i strain dependent, some user error I'm sure. I don't know if all high CBD strains are tough but I find a strain that is 10% CBD 6% THC is almost always pull and snap at 75 degree or above when I run it, some strains like to sap, got a strain fucking 3 times in a row can't get shatter. This is just a hypotenuse but I find with the higher THC strains I get way better shatter, could just be me I don't know. I've made every mistake I could getting to where I am.

iuno i used to really love like hard glass shatter.. until recently.. i really like a taffy pull and snap type.. honestly.. its easier to get on the dabber.. its easier to put in vape pens.. its harder to lose pieces wehn u fucking break it.. and pieces go flying everywere.. i think its easier to handle.. and ive noticed.. the tastiest of the bunch., being a little more taffy like . honestly. more terpenes = less glass like . i prefer taste over consistency.

how thick is that patty ? looks more like 15 grams next to that lighter.. but . i guess 15grams is 30grams internet weight lol

best thing I could think would be keeping it on a griddle at like 95-100 degrees and in a sunny window for a few weeks… don't think you'll get rid of the gummy ness though and even with the best equipment some strains just won't shatter… high CBD strains tend to have a hard time going full shatter at a normal (72 degrees) room temp…

me personally i know that when i was doing without a chamber.. u have to sacrifice taste and smell and maybe a lil decarbing.. so you can properly remove the butane.. temps 120-140.. without .. 105-115 with.. is for a shatter for me . atleast.

he is wrong, shatter is better, clearity counts, you get wax out of whippi, which traps solvent, cooking too high temp or over layering after winterizing, prolly a hustler told you that,
acceptable concentrates to me are dewaxed : shatters, some nectar (depending on freshness of material and strain), fully purged shatter whipped into a wax, or shatter that has autobuddered.

Edit: the patty was about the thickness of a fruit to go.

Tbh dude I'm happy with what I got, but in no way am I lying/showing off. I need to learn still.

I only got a 6 percent return so it's not exactly something to be proud off.

That's right, about a pound, of bud at that.

I agree. I've had some hard glass like stuff from other people, works great, but noticbly less medical effect and taste.

At this point I care more about taste, smokibility.
