In the military, you'll find a higher percentage of conservatives than in the general population. Thank you for your service, but do you have to mention it in every other post?
I was thinking the same thing....I don't have a link for that....but I am sure I read something about that being true...........nitro..

You're dissecting an imperfect metaphor. Never mind the precise effects of the drug ... many people these days have opinions that have more to do with looking like one is informed than actually being so. That was what I was after. (In my opinion. )cn
I got. It was an imperfect dissection, iac. So, we agree. We shit at each other, pre-digested, force fed opinions, to look like we are much more informed than we actually are.

It keeps us divided and conquered. We all go home from the party grumbling about those other guys, but just unsure enough, to say, "every one has the right to their opinion." Shrug.

Yes?

Texas won't secede. This is bullshit. They'll never get close to the numbers needed on that petition
Being a Texan, of course, I agree. :) Texas may be the only State, that has the "right." But, it won't happen. There have been Supreme Court cases that say it is not possible to withdraw from the Union once in. However Texas, being a Republic, they came in the first time, by Treaty.

Here are some secession "details," or tall tales. You can judge it yourself. I say, it won't happen. The problem is, secession is insurrection, plain and simple. It means War.

This is not something that is going to see any real progress. A message from a minority of the population, nothing more.

Historically the majority of the Armed Forces lean conservative (not republican) because as a whole, conservative policy has always been for a strong military thus making their lives better and safer. Liberal policy on the whole has been to cut back on military spending thus making their lives worse and far less safer.

Where did I mention it? And polls showed over 55% of the military voted for Obama. The officers corps went Romney telling me overall the enlisted, who ARE the military believe it or not, went for Obama overwhelmingly.

Texas does NOT have any "right to secede". They do have the right to form more states from within state boundaries.

No state is going to secede. The financial, political, and social repercussions would be enormous. A few complainers "signing" an online petition means nothing. I don't consider myself a Texan, Floridian, or whatever, I'm an American.

Yes, sir! And I think the worst thing that has happened so many Americans is to have that qualified and marginalized and hyphenated. Divide and Conquer.

I am not a Texas-American nor am I a French-American. I'm am not a nameYourcontinent-American. Or a name your (Latin)-subcontinent-American. But, so many have bought in.

Whine? When Bush gained the whitehouse the second time I and my friends bucked up and waited it out. We pointed out what we thought were his bad policies and we soldiered on. It is the right that has near infinte problems with someone other than themselves holding the Whitehouse - as though they were.....entitled.... to it.

I can't recall a leftie killing themselves over an election their side lost.
Is it possible a person might want to secede because they refute both the red and blue team colors?

Secession is desertion!.........If, when I was fighting in a foxhole in Vietnam, any soldier stood up & "secedded" because the battle was getting rough, I'd shoot him in the back!.........Deserter!..........Leave me to fight on my own?..Coward!
I dare you, secceed across my line of fire, you cowards!
Conservatives remind me of spoiled kids, that will only play, if they can win. They can't accept true competion, because they might lose!
Okay LEMMINGS mount up and follow me over this here cliff!!

We have a Border with Canada and Mexico. Both those have borders. In fact, the UN has settled all the border boundaries, save a few.

So, I agree. It is all racism.
