Roots still confined to cube

I planted a well rooted clone in rock wool directly into my soil on Friday. It's now tuesday, the leaves are drooping as if over watered, and when check the roots, still healthy, but not any root growth yet.. still the same length as when I got it. Any ideas?

Well sounds like it’s still too wet..

Roots won’t grow in too wet of a medium. It starves them of oxygen.

When it starts to dry out they will go searching for water/nutrient.

Give it a couple days, should bounce back.

Did you give them any root stimulant?

water when dry only, same amount each time, only when dry, stop watering the cube and water the soil instead. dont water agian until you see roots at the bottom of the container, or right before plant wilts.
maybe stop checking under the soil for root formation too, they just dont like that.

??? Too wet? Dry out?

It's fucking rockwool for gods sake. You don't let it "dry out!"
You run a feed cycle 5x a day. 1 at lights on and 1 right before lights out, with the other 3 evenly spaced between!

It will take 8 -10 days for your roots to "set" into the new media.....It'll never do it if you keep removing it to look at it!

BE PATIENT!

Start counting your days today. Go 10...and it'll take longer, a lot, to see any type of root come out of the new cube.

The medium is taking a bit to dry out as it is mostly compost. I gave it some powder rooting hormone, yes. So while waiting for it to bounce back, I just allow the leaves to basically curl completely under? The stem is very purple as well

1)rooting cube makes no difference, he's growing in soil.

2)watering a well rooted newly transplanted clone in soil 5 X a day is the recipe for root rot, dampening off, mold and d=plant death

3 my roots enter my soil a day or two after transplanting, not a week or two, rockwool, rapid rooter, no matter.

Missed the "soil" part......Your right.
Never did like rockwool starters...... Even when I did ebb trays.....Root riots for the most part...

Glad you guys hashed that out.. now about the plant...
OK, so then. Just what is the media or soil brand?

She looks to be in need of eating by spreading her roots and simply growing.

Don't have a soaked soil around her for extended periods. A little watering around the plant, and a bit away from her will help.

I would have up-potted to a solo cup and let it root that out (bout 10 days) and then gone up to a big pot.... It helps.

No more peeking at the roots by digging or what ever - be patient.
