Rape

Real forced rape is by far one of the most disgusting things to ever exist on the face of this planet. God it gives me chills thinking someone could be that sick.. I personally think rapists who are caught should be put to death immediately, and by any way the victim wants.. drown them, burn them to death, shoot out their knee caps and stomach and let them bleed to death, whatever is most painful.

In Islamic conutries it is required that 4 male relatives confirm the victims story. The only reason for this is false rape claims.
It's odd that you'd bring up a "misquote" from a religon who demands the near slavery treatment of ALL it's female members.

You shouldnt quote the Qur'an (Koran) out of contex & claim it's message apply's to one scenario, the islamic law you quoted is a real law in the Qur'an but you twisted it & distorted it to fit this discussion.

From the Qur'an.

XXIV/6-7: For those men who accuse their wives but have no witness except themselves, then let his testimony act as the testiomony of 4 men.

This law is absolute in it's message & in its interpretation, how does this apply to a rape accusation?

Please dont bring Islam into this as the savior of falsly accused mens rights,if anything the Qur'an & the other books of Islam (Tirmzi & Hadith) are responsible for more inhumane & savage treatment of women world wide than any other written publication.

Some more islamic wisdom on the treatment of islamic women.

From the Koran.

11/223: Your women are tilth,to cultivate as you wish so go to your tilth.

IV/34: Men are the lord of women because Allah hath made one to excell the other,as for those women who you fear rebellion, abmonish them, banish them & scourge them.

IV/15: If any of your women are guilty of lewdness confine them until death claims them.

From the Tirmzi.

430: It is forbidden for a woman to be seen by any other man when she is well dressed or made up.

439: If a woman is immodest the husband has the right to beat her,but he must not break her bones.

From the Hadith.

Chapter 558. When a man calls his woman to bed & she does not come, the one who is in heaven will be displeased with her, this will continue until the husband is pleased with her again.

Chapter 576. Women were created in the shape of a rib & in no way will be straightned for man.

As you would know if you'd ever studied islam,or the teachings of the 3 main books of islam, men are taught that all women are a mans property & inherently evil by nature, the teachings in these books must be followed to the letter, any man who does not blindly follow these teachings will then become a Kafir or an Infidel, once a man becomes a Kafir he is now subject to the penalty of death.

I have lived in 2 islamic countries & studied islam while i was there, the book you misquoted the verse from is designed to allow all islamic men to treat all women as dog's.

If that isnt enough information on islamic fundamentals on womens rights here's some more.

The 18 punishments from Allah twords women as described by Gazalli,a world renowned expert on islam, the Qur'an & the 2 books used in the daily translation of the Qur'an which are the Tirmzi & the Hadith.

Keep in mind that these punishments are for EVE'S transgression in the garden of eden.

1 Menstration.
2 Child birth.
3 Seperation from her father & to marry a stranger.
4 Pregnancy.
5 Not having control of her own physical self or person.
6 Lesser share of inheritance.
7 Her inability to divorce a man.
8 Her inability to have multiple husbands while her husband may have 4 wives.
9 To be secluded in the home.
10 To keep her head covered at all times, even in the home.
11 Two womens testimony will be equal to one mans testimony.
12 Not to leave the home unless accompanied by a relative.
13 May not take part in the friday feast or any funeral feasts.
14 Automatically disqualified to become a ruler, judge or person of importance.
15 The merit of a person has 100 points of merit, only one merit is attributed to woman, the other 99 points of a persons merit will be of man alone.
16 If women are profligate they will only be given half the torment as the rest at the time of the resurection.
17 After the husband dies the woman must wait a period of 4 months & 10 days before she is allowed to remarry.
18 After the husband divorces the wife she must wait a period of 3 months or 3 menstrual cycles before she is to remarry.

Are you sure this is a religion you'd like to be quoting as the savior of man ?

Well, I mean, I've never lived where he lives, so how do we know he's wrong? Not everywhere is like America, or Canada, or whatever. I mean, not all countries are the same. Maybe it is safer there. I mean, figure that there, the women aren't all a bunch of women like YOU and ME, they're different, they were RAISED there, THAT way, it's how they are.Oh well this is true but his believes are forced upon him. Are his beliefs really his own. NO!

I mean, of course you and me hear this, and think POPPY COCK (lol, I just wanted to say cock, I'll admit it). But we were raised in a completely different type of society, you know what i mean?Haha yes to everything.:hump:

The way I see it, when in rome, do as the romans do. If I'm in a country where it really IS dangerous for women, then I would probably listen to the suggestions about covering up and staying with men. Because I'm not going to get raped and killed just because I refuse to honor anyone elses customs but my own. Usually, I would probably just honor their customs out of respect, you know?
The problem in the modest countries is that when a poor woman is raped she has no good reason to report or tell a soul, as she would be condemned and shunned by the very people she should rely on. Plus the rates for rape in those countries is very high for that reason.....It can be devastating to the survivors .
Exactly. I don't think this just acciunts for modest countries twisty. I think the condemned and shunned goes for most walks of life; believe it or not. That is why I ask why it is usually something that gets shoved under the carpet.

When women are considered "property" their value is diminished. Look at most muslum (sp) countries, and how the women are considered second class, nothing more than chattel. In some places not even equal in value to the farm animal's they raise...........
An enlightened society........my ass
AND THIS was main my point wikid. How can someone who has been told what to believe and treats women this way have an opinion that matters to me. I don't wish to be disrespectful but if he doesn't even know the reaosns why his people do the things that they do then don't expect me to because I don't.

And oh ya....TALIBAN THIS...........................
But why do you believe what YOU do? Because you were raised where you were, and were taught that you could have your own freedoms and your own thoughts, and that you are a person with RIGHTS.I believe what i believe in because I choice to. I understand that every human being has 'free will.' It is a right that we are all 'SUPPOSED to have.

I mean, it goes both ways. He believes what he believes because he was raised there and that's the way it is there. I believe what I believe because i was raised HERE.

And whether or not their customs are for women's safety or not, it doesn't matter, because those are their CUSTOMS. When you're a kid, being raised by your parents, you don't question what they tell you, you just accept it.Gosh wikid . This isn't a racist thing for me. Not at all. I respect people's religion and their right to believe what they believe BUT it doesn't mean I have to agree with his ways and culture either.
Obviously we have different opinions so lets just leave it at that.

Do you know how many KIDS I had to hear racist shit from as a child? One boy told me that "my daddy says mexicans are only good for gardening and cleaning." Did the kids really believe that? Of course not, idiot probably didn't even understand it, but he was just spewing the nonsense he was raised with.
Yeah. I'm not racist at all. I don't care for any group of people being condemned .

I did not have access to all that info nor would I ever have known so much but I do know some of this. M husband works with a lot of these men and knows their beliefs.

Unbelievable that he would even comment on such a topic.

THe real problem, traverses all cultures...It is suffered in silence, by it's victims. Unfortunatly, even by women of power who have been victimized. It's still seen as a dirty thing that should be kept quite...To the detriment of all... for if a society can,t feel the pain of it's victims or unfortunates...it's surely on the road to decline

Revenge is the problem. I'm all for equal rights for men, women, blacks, whites, browns, yellows, greens, blues, and even purples. Equal rights is the key, because in a society where men and women are equal is the only place where a woman/man can freely speak about things without fear of persecution. However, everyone always feels wronged, and therefore takes revenge against another person. It's a never ending cycle.

I agree with you completely. It is a universal problem that is swept under the carpet as much as possible.
Thank you twisty. :blsmoke:

I have to totally disagree with you here. With all that has been done to me I never once sought revenge. I have every right to seek revenge but what good would that do me???? Absolutely none except perhaps bring me down lower to their level. :?

I think men and women should be able to speak freely about things without the fear of persecution but unfortunately we do not live in an equal world with equal rights.

This goes beyond a scorned woman syndrome. It's not a matter of that I feel I was wronged as much as 'where does one go from here.?'
I can't do much about what has happened except to try and process it in a healthy manner. Revenge is the last thing from my mind. :peace:

And that's what makes you a good person. If only everyone in the world was a good person.

And to add on that, what I'm saying does not only pertain to rape. Rape is just one instance where it can sometimes be seen.

As to "where does one go from here?", I don't know. I've never been in that situation and would feel uncomfortable telling someone else about something which I have little to no experience with. My best advice would be counseling, which is often pretty lame. Or even better, a support group where people have been in similar situations and can relate.:peace:

Yes I know it is a risky subject to bring up but like you said there are so many opinions out there and I want to know what some of them are.
I want to know how others feel about this subject from both males and females.
Wow you've really taken to the edge on this one you might have to be careful about what you bring up over the internet as people have strange views and tend to feel they can say what they want without understanding how they could make other people feel and statistics are world wide coverage where rape occurs prominently throughout the countries which raises the world average, so be fortunate that you don't live in a place where it occurs quite as much as what statistics state they do, i had a quick scan over the thread and it seems a lot of people have rather different opinions about rape, whether they have had personal experiences or only know statistics.
Personally i think it is one of the lowest things a man/woman could ever do to another being. Its demoralising acts like rape that can completely change the outlook of a persons life...I also think it is an outrageous act to do. Especially when it is staged and planned out. Very sick

To answer your questions

1/ Why do woman/men NOT report rape?
There are many different reasons according to lifestyle and situation of the victim but mostly consist of fear, judgement, hopelessness simply because of the way society looks at rape and deals with it. Unfortunately not enough is done about rape cases because of lack of evidence (which to me is total BS)Yes I agree and I suppose that is why they are very persistent with getting the rape tests done

2/ Why is it so common and yet so disregarded? (people like to sweep it under the carpet like it doesn't happen:confused:)
Well almost like the answer for the first question, it all depends on who you have surrounding you in your life and who you can feel you can trust enough to take serious notice and or action for what has happened, the more rapists that get away with it never have to deal with the consequences or repercussions of there actions and the reality of doing physical and mental damage to another person.Yes this is true3/ Why is it that most rapist are people you personally know and not merely strangers?
Simply because it easier and in most situations the rapist can somewhat control the victim and not let them seek out help. If the rapist can convince surrounding people that he/she is telling the truth and the victim is merely making up story's then he/she has won and without being caught will most likely continue there ways.Exactly!!! And if the victim alread has an existing mental disorder ...what could be more perfect????:hump: So true :?

4/ Does counselling really help the people view themselves differently?
Now this is a very sketchy subject because of the very different outcomes from counselling. In some cases counselling and medication might be the only real help for these people, in other cases its not needed as they have strong supportive people in there lives to help with the ordeal, then there are the few cases that not even counselling can help because the damage is to far for the individual has been to much and they end up taking there own lives for the terrible nature of the rapists. and that is unforgivable....Yes I could understand this one. I don't think some people ever return to where they were. I certainly don't feel like the same person. I'm very hyper and my fight or flight response is set WAY TOO HIGH. I jump and startle far too easily and it has been 6 years since these gang rapes.
Some days are good but some days are really scary. Nightmares are frequent but recently since spring has arrived I have been having less.

Well I hope you get the answers you need to help guide you and let you know there are many people out there willing and wanting to help any person that has suffered from rape.:peace:Thank you kindly. That is very comforting to know. I certainly don't feel as alone with this as I did.

Thanks you all you people here. Stoners are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!:peace:

I think its best for people who are worried about being raped or taken advantage of to take a martial art. I am a 2nd degree black belt in taekwondo and once had a boyfriend who I dated for only one month...after that I tried to be his friend but instead he took me to his house and kept trying to push me towards his bed. I had had sex with him before, but with me, once its over its over. So when he tried to do this to me I quickly moved around him and did a take down and threw him on the bed and walked to the door saying "Im leaving, either you take me home or Im walking"...he got highly pissed but did opt to take me home. Though he kept coming to my house, I never opened the door for him again, eventually he stopped, its been 6 years since and have never seen him again. (Im 26 now)

I think women, or men who are worried about this kinda thing should learn how to take care of themselves and become strong...and not let people take advantage of them. My experienced could have been worse, but even if it did take that route, I would have been well prepared to take care of myself. Not saying that Im invincible or anything like that, just that the chances of things like that happening to me or anyone else who take time to train their minds and bodies have a much lower chance of something like rape happening.

Yes I agree that woman should learn how to defend themselves better. Without a doubt. All the martial arts in the world would not have prevented this. If it was onl a couple of people then it would have been totally different but it wasn't. There were stun guns and drugs and things involved and I even had a large german Shepherd at the time.

I think just the act of being more self aware makes a huge difference.
Not that I wasn't aware before but now I am even more so.
I'm a wicked fighter so I honestly don't think this would have made an difference.

I do think that being fit and in shape helps keep you more alert and able to better take care of yourself if anything were to happen. Perhaps the martial arts would bring about more self confidence. I have always had an interest in it.

thanks for your comments:blsmoke: I'll consider it.

Its safer that way.

Don't your men get sodomised by other men? Known as 'rent' boys?

Have you ever actually lived in an Islamic community? Or do you just parrot the media-hype-terrorist-shit that you are fed?
well for you information my understood friend i have lived in Karachi PAKISTAN. My dad had to work there for 15 years as a risk manager for BHP gases and oils, and i have personally seen and experienced how messed up these people are, and i can tell you right now that men in the western society have a lot more rights than women in islamic/muslim cultures.

Rent boys in most cases are willing participants in the act of sodomy and that is there choice...

If you really want to take a new look on the social world today then private message me and i will show you some things that hopefully clear your clouded mind.
