Come on guys, its all good!bongsmilie
and...........:peace:

I think I'll steal a page from doublejj's book and string some fabric up on the big fence to obsure the view from the other side, which is the whole point. I can fine tune the height to minimize the shading factor, which will be minimal since the wood fence does a good job of that, but only for a couple morning hours.

Now to figure how to do a journal for the forum, since sharing knowlege is part of the experience here. All the comments about how well it's going are mighty encouraging! A whole elbow per plant..........huh!!

Hard to believe how much water they go through, this morning I put down 20 gallons in the raised bed for the 5 TrainWrecks, which I water every third day, except when it really heats up, and the barrels like to be watered every day, at least 2 Gallons each.

I do run a large oscillating fan when the temp goes over 92 as well. Keeps them swinging in the breeze!

What's the deal with foliar feeding? Any good recipes out there?

I haven't read this entire thread, but I'm very familiar with Trainwreck. A few years ago I drove up to Humboldt County and got the real thing from a dispensary. I preregistered with them as a patient.

Generally, TW is very flexible and is easily LST'd.

I'd put posts in between the plants, and run twine from the Chain link to the posts, about 2 feet off the ground, and again at four feet. Use these lines to tie hooks or string to. TW stretches like crazy near the end, but is usually not strong enough to keep the buds off the ground, without help.

Think in terms of holding the plant down, while at the same time, looking toward supporting heavy buds in October.

I really like your set up. I hope you'll look at mine.

got ya +rep for that soil bro you would think you would have known your plants wee gonna get that big using super soil! my plants are now 5-7.5' ft tall and all I have them in is pre-dug holes with 1/3 native soil, 1/3 perlite, 1/3 peat moss...I nute every 2-3 weeks depending on how the plant looks I think next year when i'm not in the woods I'll go your route in my back yard. by then i'll legally be able to grow 48-60 plants

ive got some i vegged indoor starting in jan moved out early march for spring harvest but 4 females revegged they were 6-8ft a month ago i decided to try supercropping em cause i figured even if i fuked up id get more tops before they hit flower in july so i snapped and staked/tied all the upper branches outward and am amazed at them now growing taller but atleast 5ft around now and its easy to just snap a few tops a week now to control height

100% legal here, and on great terms with the nirghbors, even if I happen to be the wierd guy on the block.

And right next to a freeway with constant choppers overhead, so I enlarged and posted my script aimed skyward. I'm sure the local fuzz have a little red pin on my house on thier map.

Big balls...yes....and 3 big dogs!!

VG, I did check your page, very impressive, my compliments. What kind of yield can I expect from these?? There are 5, each at least 6 foot. Never seen this strain outdoors at all before these beauties came my way...free I might add, too tall for my friend's indoor setup.

Man, these babies are out of this world! You'll probably be able to pull a few lbs.!

Although TW seems like a light yielder, it puts on a lot of nice tight buds.

I think you'll get a pound each from the larger plants.

Trainwreck is a funny strain. It is very good smoke, beginning when about half the trichomes are still clear, and just gets stronger until about 20% amber. A great day time smoke. It's about all I smoke before sunset. What I'm suggesting is that you begin sampling when trichs are about half cloudy, to find the best ripeness for you.

Another thing. Many people(including me) find Trainwreck is best smoked fresh. Right after it is dried. Give it a try.

BTW, the optimum way to cultivate Trainwreck is a ScrOG, indoors, or out. Keep spreading that canopy.

It's official, slap it up flip it & rub it down I'm growin this next year. If you have to whip out the chainsaw on them let at least one grow just to see the result.

Haven't quite figured out the nuances of posting pics inline and having them in the right spot, so I'll just add them at the end of the post. They are titled for easy viewing.

A couple of my tie-down method, nice and cushiony on the stalks and branches. The other ends go to the fencing and the boards surrounding the planting bed.

One of the crazy-big stalks, which grow at a rate of 10% per week on average so far.

A reference shot to show they are still out of control, growing an inch a day and topping the fence still.

Plus a string of shots, dated to show the progression of these ladies, I hesitate to call them girls, because they are all grown up.

VG, thx for the harvest info, I planned to get 'em out a little on the early side, while the smoke will be smooth. The plan is the same as last year, trim and hang, retrim and dry on screens, into mason jars for curing and storage. Last year I 'put up' 3 lbs., and today it is just as it was when the jars were finally sealed last October. Took about two-three weeks of burping jars before the moisture stabilized where I wanted it, dry without being crispy, with stems barely flexible. This harvest is tolast all year, until the next bounty arrives!

One question, do these have a time frame they like to flower? Early? Late? Fast? Slow? Whoops wait a sec, that was many questions...poor etiquette, sorry, but then I got high!

Good to hear it's a good daytime smoke as well, since I'm a burner from sunup to sunset!

The three in the barrels are Purple Diesel, New York Sour Diesel, and an O.G. Kush. These are from dispensary clones that were maybe 6" tall when I got them. The Purple Diesel is a water hog, demands to be watered evry day, almost no exceptions. It has been warm here in the Central Valley, plus I run a big-ass fan a lot of the time.

I'll attach a photo of last years yeild, from 6 plants of various varieties.

Countryfarmer, working on that, a little each day. At some point I hope to be tying them all up, instead of holding 'em down. I may resort to obscuring view with some shade fabric on the fence if/when things get too hairy!
