1a. What did we give Pakistan for them to give him up?
I just heard Osama was just an hour and a half out side the nation's capital ( Pakistan )

So how was he able to be in a barn so close to the action all this time?

George Dubyah has already opened his gob about it... fucking asshole. I hope everyone realizes that this "victory" was purely symbolic. bin Ladin hasn't been in charge of field operations for a long time.

I really doubt the 7 wars are now over cause one man died lol - doesn't hurt to be optimistic but come on now thats just not realistic. I believe it is more likely that his death changes nothing for anyone but this should help our anti-war argument.

No you are probably right. I doubt the wars are over HOWEVER it changes ALOT for those who have served thier country. This is like a HUGE weight lifted off our shoulders! This guy was the master mind behind 9/11 and after 10 LONG years of searching for this guy we finally got him! I bet this also is like a HUGE weight lifted off the shoulders of the families who lost loved ones during the 9/11 attack. And if you are one of those Anti-War people then you sir are as UNAMERICAN as all the protesters to the vietnam war:finger: They always give thier hats off to me for serving 2 tours in Iraq for a total of 27 months but I give my hats off to them for serving in the Jungle. Sir if you are one of those who think war solves nothing then you are sadly mistaken! Just look at AMERICAN history! AMERICA was founded on war! We wouldn't have this GREAT country and FREEDOMS that we do if it were not for war! Besides your wasting your breath! War will NEVER go away no matter how much you protest! And if your one of those who protest at soldiers funerals then I have a 7mm Rem Mag with your name on it!:twisted::fire:

Pakistan wasn't really "harboring" him. Pakistan basically gives us access to their country (in most cases) for money... Pakistan doesn't have the power to just go around taking out warlords. Unless they have death wishes that is. In no way shape/form are the wars over. This could potentially mean things will flair up again.

trillions of dollars spent, over a decade of war, two countries decimated, thousands upon thousands of innocent civilians killed, an economy in collapse, was it worth it?

Two concerns here:

  1. pakistan was harboring bin ladin
  2. bin ladin is now a martyr for islam
this ain't over by a long shot.
fuck yes it was worth it!!! If you spent anytime over there then you would say it was worth it as well!!! If you won't stand behind our troops then stand in front of them asshole!!!

wow lol you said a mouthful, I love the impression you have of anti-war people seems pretty close minded as its filled with sterotypes and you go as far as to compare me to westboro its almost like calling me a nazi, FYI Nearly every man in my family has served and my family has been in every american war many in high ranks including a general and a congressman, you say I am unamerican for being anti-war lmao it doesn't have to be one extreme or the other my friend. No I am not anti-war but I am anti poor people fighting in rich mans wars to make them more rich and powerful, I am anti corporate plunder. Hopefully war for profit will be a thing of the past and you are the last of the corporate imperial warriors but that day has yet to come.

This changes NOTHING. War is Peace. It was never about terrorists, just an excuse to kill and take.

Yeah, but if you leave these countries without doing it slowly they might just get overtake by terrorists again and be even worse. You probably can't contain this, but the only other option is to change their culture. That, unfortunately, takes a very long time to do.

It's actually the best reason ever to declare victory and leave. We will see.
For sure, its a perfect opportunity. But why kill 100,000 people to just get one guy. I hear there are 2500 Al Qaeda members that need killing, only 250 million need to die and we can finally say we win. Then we can leave.

You see, Hornedfrog knows that those places are crawling with terrorists who will stop at nothing to come over here with underwear bombs and make our lives miserable. It should only take 3 or 4 generations to get things under control there.

I think no matter when or under what circumstances we leave Afghanistan, there will be a fight for control. "Our side" in Afghanistan is the side we are paying to be on our side. The second we stop paying them, all bets are off. It could take 50 years to pacify Afghanistan. It's always been that way. Alexander the great went in there looking for a fight. Got soundly whooped for a while. He then just won a couple battles, declared himself the winner and then got the fuck out. That seems like a good plan. Lets do that.

The president has to know by now that it's a futile war. I bet he's going to jump at the chance to leave.
