That makes good sense...I had something long typed out but then reread your post and kind of answered my own question. I guess it really isn't fair at all because so many factors with her. Good luck with your new one!

Edit*
Its interesting though, very similar price +/15, very similar warranty, even though A51 has the upgrade option which I think should be a deciding factor in a purchase. If you are buying an LED for this price, you will need to grow awhile to get your worth out of it, so a warranty IMO is a must, and a cheaper upgrade available? I don't understand why all the high$ companies do this

Well it's day 21 and the girls are both looking good. They pretty much look identical so it's too early to tell any real differences. Lights have been around 18" above the plants. First 3 pics are the RW plant and the last 3 the Onyx,I turned off the red on the RW to take the pics.

Looking nice. is the Onyx penetrating better or is that just the photo ? Almost seems like the onyx could do better with this setup being more center focused.

I think it's the color difference with the lights. The tents are only three feet apart and I can stand in between them and look at both and I really don't see any difference yet. You would think the Onyx should have a advantage with more watts and and more concentrated central foot print but the RW's red and white combo may be off setting that,it's just too early to tell.

Well if it's not one thing it's another. Just noticed that the switch for the red LED's on the RW panel was off, think I may have bumped it off 4 or 5 days ago when I moved the light up and didn't notice. I've been so busy I've had to rush through my garden chores for the last couple weeks. Also have a mag def in both plants from my neglect, worse in the RW plant. My theory from the last run about the added red making the plant feed heavier seems to be repeating it self again. I have 8 plants of two strains in the same soil set up and pot size all treated the same. The 5 plants under 4 XGS's at day 39 look beautiful,3 Critical kush and 2 gorilla glue#4. I have one GG#4 at day 34 under a XGS but the light was set closer to the plant and it showed a slight cal/mag def on a few leaves. The plant under the Onyx at day 32 is showing a mag def and the plant under the RW at day 32 was the first to show a mag def and it progressed faster and got worse than the Onyx plant. I'll be adjusting my feeding and supplements to this added red theory from now on. The plants are pretty equal but I'm sure the red switch being off hurt the RW plants growth,it's tough to tell by the pics because of the light color difference.

Thats a tough one from the pic. It almost looks like over watering but the soil doesn't look that wet. What kind of soil is that, doesn't look like it has much aeration material in it?

Bad soil, need some sort of potting mix. Too much light and maybe heat, depending on how close the bulbs are you may be cooking the seedling.

hope you get it fixed up. good luck, can you be sure that its really the extra red or that maybe the mix is just border line for optimal growth? After all the red switch was off for a while :) so shes been under a cool white veg equivalent for a while.

Hey Cap, not to go too off topic but it is concerning the onyx.
I was going to ask you if you could post a pic of how you set up your cree bulb side lighting in the 3x3 if I was to use it for say supplemental with the onyx and I remember reading a post where you put the onyx on a hook and spinner turning 90° each day to bypass using the bulbs in the corners.
Did you find that to work as good as adding the 2 cree bulbs in each corner?
I would imagine the extra lights from the side would be better regardless just to get those sides and down low lit up a little better but if I could just spin the light and get similar results and save money and watts then I would just do that.

Time for a day 38 update. I turned off both lights and used a 5000k cree bulb for the pics. I took two pics of each with the plant rotated 180 degrees so you could see both sides of the plants. The RW plant seems to be putting on more weight and it's quite noticeable on the lower half of the plants. I'm surprised that the Onyx plant doesn't have a advantage when it comes to the lower development with more watts and a smaller footprint.

I think your confusing two grows,I had the swivels on the RW and Onyx lights and I added the crees to a XGS grow. I just hung the 2 cree bulbs in each corner and I think all 3 lights would benefit from some added light at the edges of a 3x3 scrog and I think the swivels help even out the coverage.

Looking good! Obviously I am just going from the photos but the Onyx colas look absolutely MASSIVE vs the RW colas? At first I thought the first 2 pics were the RWs based on what you said about devolpment but then I checked the labels, idk, they both look really nice!

Especially that one in the middle on the first photo...huge!
