Has anyone mentioned to Cap'n Mo'Mo to read the ROLS thread?

When your dirt is too hot, flood it with AACT every day, and you'll get a sweet yield.

My dirt used to always be too hot. The one time I did an organic flood and drain table with compost teas of all sorts, every single day, was my best organic yield. Quality and quantity.

Until I stumbled upon the ROLS thread.

It all started to make sense.

And god damnit, that shit's the best way to produce copious amounts of delicious dankness, hands down.

You can see the damage the lockout has done at day 54 but the flowers are still growing so it's day to day. The Onyx plant is not quite as bad but not far off. I scoped her and it's mostly cloudy with more amber than clear so I can take her down if I need to but her flavor is suppose to develop the longer she goes. I cut a small bud and quick dried it to test and she has quite a kick.

Looked back and saw you had a soil test. Interesting they didn't show the NO3-, or Fe. Agree it looks like Fe since not frying like Zn and not turning purple like S. I think your issue is the Ca level. I mean good effin lawd! 3600ppm for Ca is insane. Just what they took into account in the analysis that's roughly 67.6%. I think it is very possible that much Ca may be out-competing the Fe. Typically you don't run into Ca toxicity, but I think this just might be a case of it.

Been chasing issues a little here and there lately. Much more than usual. I think I need to just quit trying different things back to back. Instead stick with something like I used to and maybe do a plant or two another way if I want. huh Either way. Even for your issues. Looking damn good man.

Your probably correct in your last statement. I did the same a ways back and got off track. I got back to basics with simple shit and I'm doing better than I ever did. Keep up the work that screen full will be sweetness galore! Clap

Had to chop the RW plant last Thursday at day 56,flowers stopped building so that was it. It's jarred at 55% RH and weighed in at 128 grams, not bad considering the soil issues. Buds weren't all that big but very dense. I need to chop the Onyx plant to make room for the next round,it's at day 61.

Chopped the Onyx plant tonight,so I got one more week than the RW plant. I have a theory on the deficiency differences between the lights ,the RW plant showed the signs first and they got more severe as time went on. It may be with the added red of the RW,the plant was needing more feed than the Onxy and because of the lockouts it showed first and progressed faster. Glad I got another week on the second plant because it put on some nice weight in that last week. I'll be setting up another side by side run shortly, this run will be Critical Kush with about 35% super soil on the bottom of 5 gal fabric pots.

I may have to top these girls or start spiraling them around the cage because they've grown 8" in the 5 days since flip and I'll run out of head room pretty quickly at this rate.

sounds like they are growing well!

question about the onyx. does the wire from the power supply to the onyx unit get warm\hot? I just got one of the veg units and the wire gets kinda hot (ok to hold). I also looked at the wire closely and discovered that its a single wire plus a shield wire. Kind of like a low power coax cable. isn't that kind of hoky?

I have my power supply outside of the tent and the cord is just barely warm. It all seems quality built so I doubt they would skimp on the quality of the cord.

Had to pull the tops over and I'll wrap the cage with them. It was 10 inches in 6 days so thats 2 inches in the last 24 hours.

.
they sent me a new cord for the dc power, apparently the one I originally got with the unit was wired backwards. Seems to work ok now. Great customer service, chatted online until we were able to trouble shoot the problem (unit wouldn't turn on) and in a few days I had a replacement cord.

The end of day 11 and they are both growing like mad. Last post I bent them over to the side and now I've begun wrapping them around the cages. I cleaned up the bottom third on both girls and even weighed the clippings and made them equal. Keeping both the lights at 18 inches for now.

That's a tricky one because of the lock outs. The early development seemed to be fairly close and the final weight was 21 grams heavier for the Onyx plant that was able to go the extra week and that makes sense. The tricky part is why was one plant able to go the extra week, the RW plant quit putting on weight so I cut her. My theory is the RW with the cool white 630 red combo was feeding more aggressively and that's why the lock out showed on that plant first and was more severe overall,it's only a theory tho. This run is more basic and hopefully trouble free so I can get a real idea of the performance between the two.
