It happens and you learn as you go--Just go back to the start and follow the method to a T--it's fast/simple/ and it works.
ya i know. it took a month before i got anything to grow before the two plants i got in flowering now.i'm still new but learning. this class has already learned me how to get the plant pop up. now i'm trying to learn how to keep them alive. thank you for this class.

Ok noticed this this morning on a couple plants.Brown spots on leaf tips. This from the low soil ph too?Haven't added lime yet, waiting for next watering to add but noticed this so thought I'd ask.I only seen it on a couple plants.Rest look ok still.Just wondering

Hey Doc, any idea what is wrong with this plant? pH is good, I haven't gone ofer 300ppm on feed. I did move it under a 400HPS about 4 feet away. I moved it back to the florescent after is started looking unhealthy, but it hasn't gotten any better.

Thanks for all your help.

Edit - I just tested the runoff, and 6.0 water comes out 5.8. My pH meter wasn't working when we started, so I didn't get to adjust the soil then.

You need to let the soil dry out a little more in between feedings(droopy leaves).

What nutes did you add and how did you get to 300ppm's---are you behind me by a couple of weeks with your plants? I'm already up to 550ppms?-----Bump your next feed up to 500ppms with a complete nutrient----all major/secondary/and chealeted micro with B1---Your plants are showing slight nutrient defs and a little over-watering. Make sure to allow the soil to dry out(the cups should feel very lite).

Doc, I am using Bio-Canna Vega. Sorry, I must have missed the part where we raised the ppms - I will follow your instructions, thanks!

Hey all. I have a question on these plants of a friend. They were all started on the first day of class although a few were started a week after. Due to height constraints in the seperate flowering room they cant grow more than 18-24" when ready for harvest. So I was planning on flowering them at 8-10". Well I measured today and their already there!

I want to clone these, and determine sex from the flowering moms. Are these lil branches ok to clone?

The pic is from the second node of the plant which already has 7 nodes.

Ok got my ppm pen and lime.Mixed up more nutes and added 2 tlbs to a gallon of water which put my right at 255 ppm.So on the next feed should I add the grow big also to this mix of big bloom like the f/f nute sheet says?
The droopy leafs are only on a couple and they have the leaf twist the most so was just wondering.Could be those where not dried out enough before watering.Fan is drying some cups faster than others so started moving them around on the tray.I added 2 tsp of lime to 5 f/l cups and watered them with just ph'ed water but the run off was still around 5.5 or so.The 5 I watered where quite dry and light so hit them with the moisture meter and that read dry so I added water. Its only been 3 days since I fed/watered them last and I was suprised they where so light and dry already.Thats when I noticed some where still heavy and read about 1/2 way on the moist meter.Good eye on the droopy leafs.Prolly was from still being moist when I watered them.
Should I add more lime to the cups untill the runoff is closer to 6.5 or wait.have no clue how fast that sfuff raises the ph in the soil.Dam crap soil.

Ok------You have a couple choice---1. mix half doses--1tlbs grow big/1/2tlbs big bloom to 1 gal water then add more water to bring your ppms down to where you want, then ph to 6.3 and feed. or---mix full strenght 2tlbs growbig/1tbs big bloom in 1 gal and add more water to bring ppms down to where you want them(same ratio of nutes:-P) remember that you are to increase your ppms with every nute feed by 100!!!. The dolomite works over time and with moisture in the soil so don't add anymore at this point 5.5 is the start of where you want to be--we will build the soil PH up as we go.

They look healthy---You can take a clone from that.

. Couple of things going on...You switched to a bloom formula? what was the last nute ppms @ feeding?--The cal/mag plus wouldn't have caused that--It would help--showing signs of sulper-your nutriants should supply ample sulper/. iron/ and manganese def(strange unless very low nutrient feed--<500ppms or my guess at this time---high soil PH >6.6) check the PH run-off and ppms for now--Get a chealeted micro nutrient supplement---I love LILLY MILLER brand(home-depot/lowes/nursary) great product and you can get a gallon for less than 6.00----feed @ 1tbs/gal. Keep me in the loop on this one. OK

hey class and doc since all of mine have died again. i've already germ. the last 5 seeds of bubble gum i have left and are in the soil.i'll have to watch how much i water them this time.

hey doc with all the different nutes you mix together you dont worry about any kind of nute lock??

No because there is very little over-lap in the nutrients I use. Very small doses of low ratio nutrients and I never mix the nutrients together(Fill water containers then add additives and supplements/ then I add the base) you would have more chances of nute-lock if you mixed the nutes together before adding to the water) I also have a very close idea as to how much each individual nutrition raises ppms in feedings----BIG BLOOM and Power THRIVE plus add little ppms and are organic. The voodoo juice/piranha/and taranchula add very little. The carb load adds a small amount of NPK but not much. Most of the NPK and ppms come from your base nute---I.E.-IGUANA GROW. Hope this explains a little and good question as well---I hope we can get your next grow on track...

hey guys doc guess what i found?? i just found out the feed store down the street from my house is also a gardening store. they sell all the different nutes there.foxfarm,gh,superthrive, earth juice,b'cuss ect...... and there are some i have never heard of. the people are nice and very helpful.they sell lights(hps,mh,t-5)or parts to make your own.they do hydro set ups and soil.i bought 4oz of superthrive and a small kit of the recipe for success and a bag of foxfarm ocean forest soil. i think this grow will be much better. as soon as i see the sprouts i will put them in the foxfarm soil. wish me luck. thanks:peace:and:leaf:

Doc, my plants are 15 days old now..i am going to feed them the next time I water. I have them in 10 oz. cups of FF Happy Frog. IT says on the sheet like you saw, that u add 2 tablespoons per gallon of the Bigbloom. Do I add that full amount or do I do 1/4 of what it says. Thanks!!!!

I only added 1 tbls to a gallon on my first feeding before i got my ppm pen. With 2 tbls in a gallon( just mixed for my next feeding) my ppm's where at 255 so 1/2 that would put ya about 125 or so.My plants are 15 days old today too and I fed them 4 days ago and they loved it.
Doc said to start at 250 but without the pen I only added half what the sheet said which ended up being only half what doc wanted to start at.have to see what Mr doc says cuz I sure dont know thats why I'm here.

The FFOF has alot of nutes in it so you will not have to add nutes for 3 to 4 weeks.

This question is coming up alot so i'll try to explain in more detail at the end of this thread---Ratio's of nutes needs to stay the same but concentration(PPM's) can be lowered or raised dependant on many factor of the plant.

You did the right thing--and brought up a good point that needed to be mentioned---"It's better to underfeed than overfeed".
250ppms is a very "safe" point to start your feeds at and that is why I chose it-Anything over 400 would be on the high-side and anything below 250 is just a maintenance dose. As far as the nutrients and 1/2/-1/4-1/8-full doses- the most important thing is that we maintain the manufactures ratio's and more importantly are feeding the correct ratio's for the stages of growth we are in--we want more N-nitrogen in the vegetative growth stage than P-phosphorus or K-potassium. And in flowering we want more P and K than N------If using a 2 part nutrient or even 3 part nutrient program its OK to use 1/2--1/4--1/8 doses but we need to do it for both parts of the nutes----correct(PART A--1/4 dose-----PART B--1/4 dose)---wrong(PART A--1/2-----PART B--full dose). This is a general rule and I don't want to make it confusing--some growers might say-"I mix at different doses and have no problems"-This could be true for some lines of nutes that are organic or organic based-----say we had a vegetative stage nute PART A as: 8-5-3 and A Part B as .5-2-.3-- since all nute ratio's are added it makes since that the 2 parts could be used without problems but is a lot easier to maintain the doses or split the doses evenly. I don't want to get too technical for this class so if you are interested in learning more about nutriant ratios in depth send me a PM with your question.
