Hey doc
Will 2 gallon buckets be big enough to finish up in?I was able to find some nursey pots but 2 gallon was the biggest I could find.I have to hit the hydro store this week for soil so wondered if I'll have to buy bigger pots. Now remmber I cant veg to long nor grow to big with the hieght I have to work with so just wondering on the 2 gallon being big enough? I tried to find 3 gallon but could only find the 2's this time of year.Think they measure like 12" dia and are fairly large.just hoping I wont have to keep looking.
Looks like they might have take'in the " muture plants" out of our rules and changed it to 12 plants total. If thats the case we'll probaly be doing a bunch of air layering over here to keep the count the same while cloning. That change will really suck but have ta do what they let us do and deal we it.I'll find out when the rules finally make it out but looks like there headed that why.Thats why I asked earlier about air-layering.With that method the count stay the same untill ya cut off the rooted clone and repot for flowering.

The 2 gallons filled with 1.5 to 1.75 gals of soil will be great. I can see your problem--Sound's like you need a combination of loli-pop with multi-colas per plant ---we can accomplish this with time/topping/pruning.

planted seeds in a germ plate som sprouted but are now turnin over wat is my next step

Great then my hunt for pots is over.Sounds like a plan on the prunin trimmin and popin.I'm here for the long haul so we'll see in a couple months what we come up with.Like to get this worked out so I can teach the rest of the new growers if they have problems keeping with in our limits. We've got some good growers over here teaching too.I'm all ears from every direction.
Tray 1 is showing signs of over watering so will let them dry out pretty good before the next feeding/watering.tray 2 has caught up with the other tray but they didn't get watered as much.Just 3 cups that where in the center that didn't dry well that are droopy and have some yellowish leafs(bottom).Rest are looking pretty good I think and are now starting to smell pretty good.Cant wait till they REALLY start smellin.None of the new growth is twisted like before so guess the lime helped that ph problem. They're now on there 4 node.
I'll get some pics up when ya want them next, till then I'm just watchin the grass grow :bigjoint::bigjoint:.

Doc, I need your help bad. Some of my seedlings are getting rust color spots on the leaves. I first saw two small spots on one of the plants on 2 days ago right before I watered them that night. I have them in Foxfarm happy frog. They are 17 days old. Two days ago When I watered them, I gave them 1gal of water with 2tblspn of Foxfarm bigbloom like the chart says and one drop superthrive. Today in the pics as you can see, I now have more spots on like 4 of my plants out of 10 and also, my leaves are looking droopy on most of them. I did not over water them, I have been waiting until the soil was dry between waterings.

Who told you to give those plants any kind of nutes?

Doc said at the 15 day mark to give them a small ppm of nutes. It also says it on the Foxfarm nute chart online. And the guy at the hydro shop told me to too. The two little round leaves started turning yellow too.

I don't want to spam on here but I have 3 seed lines coming out in the summer--One of which is perfect for medical growers that need a great medical grade/easy to grow--clone---flower./ ultra short/fast 54 days to finish.

Check your run-off PPM's and PH. You should be ok with just the use of BigBloom but the dose may have been a little high. The happyfrog and ocean forrest have nutes in them so by checking the ppms we will be able to see where your at.. PPM run-off should be about 250 to 350 for a 17 day old seedling. Post the results as soon as you can...

Yes I'd be interested in those too.I'm not sure on what I have grownin now but was told the stinky widow is a very short plant. The free leonord(g-13/hawian butterscotch) is a little taller of a plant but flowers in 75 days???.As far as the widow cindys and the chemo cindy I have no clue.Just hoping being a widow cross they'll be short also.We shall soon see.

Look for them this summer...more info to come.

Who is the breeder? chemo is a shorter plant in growth. Never heard of stink widow/widow cindy/chemo cindy.

So with my next watering, I should just give them plain Phed water?
you could---but I would check the run-off PH and ppms. This would tell us a lot.

growers question
Hey doctor is there anyway of telling the sex of a seed just by looking at it?And also when is the earliest you can tell the sex of a plant?thanx in advance
my reply
only if the seeds are colored and labeled as feminized---"GreenHouseSeeds". I will go into a couple different methods of sexing plants at different times of growth.
This is for the person that posted the comment in my reputation: "greenhouse seeds are the only feminized seeds? come on now..."
PLEASE POST FOR ALL OF US GROWERS HOW YOU CAN LOOK AT A SEED AND TELL ITS FEMANIZED!!!. EVERYONE ON RIU WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR METHOD:lol::lol::lol:-------LMAO:lol::lol::lol:------STILL-LMAO:lol::lol::lol:!!!... P.S. Grow some balls and post if you have a comment!!!

I cannot check the runoff unless I water it again because I trashed the runoff water that was left when I watered them with the 2 tblespoons of FF bigbloom in 1gal or water at day 15. When I read my TDS meter, its said it was at 120ppm.

You will have to water to collect a run-off. 1. first PH your water source to 6.3 then check the ppms of the water you are going to add to the plant container, note that amount. Now add a few ounces to wet the soil and wait 5 mins. Then add 1/2 the amount of water as container size----16 ounce cup----8 ounces of water--- now collect the run-off and note PH and PPMS.

Doc,

I had a little trouble with my original 5 seeds. When I opened my seeds I found that all but 2 of my Snow White females were crushed during shipping. Only 2 germed and only 1 of those sprouted. I had 1 feminized PPP seed left so I ended up with:

1 Snow White female
1 PPP female
&
6 Dankberry Sativas of unknown sex

So this first grow will be mostly the Dankberry Sativa strain with a little PPP and SW mixed in. I'll take clones and the next grow will be mostly SW.

As you can see from the pics the Dankberry is much more lanky than either the PPP or the SW. If 3 of the 6 turn out to be Females I'll be pleased. The PPP female has a Mag deficiency that I need to address but the others are very healthy! The larger ones were out of the soil by Jan 13th so they are onday 21 of veg. Some late poppers are as much as 7-9 days behind them(day 12-14 of veg).
