Maybe I'll cut out one of the flood cycles...

How many would you do for a ebb and flow... I'm doing 5 floods right now each day

Ok checked the babys again today and cups are very light so hit a few with the moisture meter and all read dry.Should I feed/water now or give them a day or two.
I pull one of the extras today to check out the roots and they looked all nice and white.Guess I should have taking a pic for ya.They be some root building fools thats for sure.Roots went all the way to the bottom of the cups and have filled in a lot.Didn't think such a small plant would have that maney roots, but guess so.
Anways,,water or not to water,,thats the question.Oh soil was dry in the cup that I culled.Had a little moist in the bottom but dam ner dry as toast.

Ok yeah I thought so just thought I'd ask ya first being they got over watered, from when I added the lime to my cups.
I checked ph from the run off and its looking WAY better and is closer to 6.5 now so thanks on the lime heads up.Seems to have worked like a charm.I'm still trying to find out more on the strains and will get back to ya.Thanks again for all yer help.looks like the weather is gonna break some this week so will get down to the hydro store for more supplys and soil.
Have one more question if ya dont mind:
I'll be getting foxfarm ocean forest soil and was wondering are we gonna transplant into bigger pots BEFORE we clone or after? O/f is pretty hot with N and wondering if thats ok when taking clones? I know we need less N or the clones will take longer to root so will o/f be to hot if close to cloning time?

The mothers need less Nitrogen but we're not going to go crazy here and deplete all sources for a couple of reasons---1. We need the N in the clones to support growth. 2. Your mother still needs a balanced diet. 3. were going to do a couple different types of cloning methods that are fast:lol:. We are going to take clones before transplant to sex our mothers and fathers. why waste the time/energy/supplies on male plants:wall:???. I will go into it more in detail when we clone but you don't have to worry about the FFOF being too hot and I'll tell you why latter. If you can afford it pick up some perlite, we will use it for a couple of things.:bigjoint:

OK Doc,

Update time...... Where to start.

Here are the profile pictures. As you can see, Dankberry is on it's way! Over 14 inches tall already. It has a much sleeker profile than the PPP or the Snow White which are both very Indica dominant and virtually identical. I'm afraid that when I flower these 6 Dankberry's that they're going to explode so I'll have to watch them. I doubt I'll let them get past 24 inches before I flower them. The largest is over 14 already and I had planned to go 12/12 on 3-1-09 but I think that the biggest d-berry may be past 24 inches by then (another 22 days). Thoughts?

What strain do you think Dankberry may actually be , Doc? Humor me with a few guesses... lol

Here the top profile shows how Indica dominant the PPP and SW are. You can see the other Dberrys that lagged behind in the sprouting process..... some of them as many as 10 days. I had shit popping up everywhere after I'd written it off using your method....lol.... long story. Anyway, notice that the Dberry has benefited from the Epsom Salt showers but the PPP is still in bad shape with the Mag Def. I'll be adding Lime at your suggestion by Sunday. What are your thoughts on what will become of my last PPP female if I can't right the ship on the Mag deficiency? If I take clones from her will they exhibit the same tendancy to suffer from a MAG Deficiency like their mother? It can be a genetic thing , right? All other plants growing under the exact same conditions seem to be doing fine. I hope these Dberry's YIELD because a lanky sativa like that never yields does it? Fingers crossed! Give me some feedback please. :)

Unlike the PPP, the Snow White is perfectly healthy, Very bushy and on its 6th node at 11 inches. I can't wait to try this strain. In fact I've already taken 1 clone off of her. Here's pics of her as well as my soon to be deceased ghetto cloner. I'm building a DWC cloner in the next couple of days. I'll add a tutorial but it will mirror those found on here as I've taken my ideas from them. I'll share anyway so that everyone following this can see how it's done.

Here's the Snow White clone at 4 days... I'm doing everything right so I'm curious to see if she will root or not. If she does I'm going to grow her and use her as a mother for the next grow but that's another story.

I don't know if you answered this already, but what does that mild transplant solution consist of? I think I'm going to transfer to the bigger pots, let them have a couple of days to recover and resume growth, and then take cuttings.

great class btw,

is there a difference between the lighting you used for the seedlings under the humid-dome and the lighting you used once you took the humid-dome covers off? or did you use the same Wal-Mart cfl's you mentioned earlier for both stages?

the best option i have near me are the T5 or T8 plant/aquarium flouresant lights from Home Depot. i was planning on using these for approx. the first two weeks of seedling into vegging. is that ok?

also, how many lights (T5's or T8's) will i need to provide ample lighting for 10 or 12 plants? thanks for all the great info

OK.. for everyone who is following along.... I built my DWC Cloner tonight. I can't take credit for the concept as I simply copied a design that I found on here. Anyway here goes....

Supplies = $36.00

I started with two 15 qt containers. One is the res and the other is the humidity dome.

Then I covered everything in Chrome Duct Tape to keep light out

After the entire unit is covered in tape and the 2" holes are drilled. This particular unit will accomodate 9 clones at a time.

Adding the foam plugs (Making and installing these was a bitch and I hated it).

I drilled a hole near the top of the unit and fed the hose from the pump to the bubble bar that will sit on the bottom of the res.

The bubble bar

The pump

It holds 2 gallons of water which fills it to the correct height

The unit in place... I'll be adding 6 Snow White clones in a few days and we'll see how long it takes them to root

The unit isnt the prettiest thing but for $36.00 I think I'll have an effective cloner. We'll see soon enough!

I got two of the 18"they take alot of air. I'm still under powered. going to try two pumps. I can start 6 clones in my 1 gal setup I just can't leave them in it after the roots start growing. But roots start in 5 days or less. I used this flowering clone from a broken branch. It grew ok but fought the rot the whole time.

I use the same light. You can add more floro's or purchase the T5'--they come in a variety of configurations--1/2/4/6/8 bulb all in 24" or 48". How big you grow your plants will determine the light configuration you need--I have an 8bulb-48" and a 4bulb 24". If your plants will take up all the space of a 24"x48" then you will need a 6 or 8bulb 48".
