Hello to all, just wanted to show you some of my pics. I believe I am a week and a half ahead of all of you. I am vegging under 8 cfls and I am going to flower with a 400 watt hps. For soil, in the begining I had the in 16 once cups with a slow realease nute and changed the game plan real quick since I was getting alittle nute burn. Now my babies are in 2 gallon buckets and in fox farm ocean soil. I still have not gave them a feeding, but I plan on flowering on thursday and will be using peters 10-50-17 They are 3 weeks old. Well heres some eye candy.:weed: ( just topped them 2 days ago)

doc,can I give a shot at this problem?
Looks like the start of nute burn.If your useing potting soil with time released nutes like mir/grow than thats prolly the problem.Dont add nutes untill ya get farther along and the plant get a little bigger. These type of soils already have nutes so if ya add more your gonna burn them.

Ok doc am I close?Or is it still to soon to tell?

looking good---But don't feed anything for at least another week---The FFOF will carry you 4 weeks without nutes in the stage your in.

LOL---we'll give you some credit for effort/enthusiasium/ and entertainment:clap::clap:. He's not showing a nute burn but close(very dark green to blue in color--he's OK as long as he doesn't give more N or nitrogen for a week or so). You have to read the posts in detail(he stated he started in a timed released nutrient enriched soil- cups but moved to FOXFARMOCEANFORREST soil in buckets). As FDD once told me--"Be careful of the advice you give-and also of the advice you take"--good quote!!!.:bigjoint:

the soil isfrom plantation products called seed starter. it's the only stuff in found that does not have any time release nutes in it. at the famers co-op i go to they have all kinds of soil in different bags but you have to mix them together but i don't know witch ones to get and mix together and how much??some of the soil you see in the cups are the jiffy pot stuff because some of the plants that were growing in the cups died and i just put them in the cup to replace them.

the catnip was very easy to grow. i just through the seeds in the cup and sprout in about a week.i've pulled off a few leafs to see if the cats would like it and they went nuts for about a hour.

Ok,just tried to give' er a shot not trying to give advise.Been way to long since I tried to grow to do that.Thats why I'm here, learnin.
Doc I tried to find that tds/ppm/ec pen you where talking about at several stores, home depot/lowes/wallyword and 2 pet shops but no luck.Looks like I might have to order one off the net unless ya got any other places I should look.I'll switch over to ro water being I dont know where my ppm's are out of the tap.looked at one at the hydro store while back but they wanted over a $ 100.00 for the dam thing and I thought that was way to high for a pen.I'll keep lookin.Got another week to go before feeding, being I'm a week behind class. So maybe I can find one local. What about pool type stores? think they might have something like that?

I just started a new batch on jan. 6. I just saw the thread or I would have joined earlier. Can I still get in on this class this will be my second real grow and my first with known strain-feminised seeds. Let me know pm or whatever I'd really like to take advantage of this good learning opportunity.

Doc was gonna give the babys a first feeding but have a question on how much(no pen yet but coming on friday).I'm using foxfarm grow big, tiger bloom and big bloom.Foxfarms sheet says to add 2 tbls big bloom to a gallon of water, but I noticed you only added 3.75ml along with your other stuff.Should I just add what the sheet says(2 tbls) per gal?I was gonna add just 1 tbl but thought I'd better check.Cups are now dry again and want to feed this round but dont want to fry them.

Hello, I feel that for there first feeding you should only add 1/4 of what ever your nutes say, just so the babies can adjust to the nutes and you don't get nute burns. I have always used this method.

Another thing is, if your using foxfarm soil you shouldn't need to feed them for at least the first month.

Doc qoute me if I'm wrong, thanks.

FF OF has bat guano, worm castings, and other organic forms of ferts. It should be enough for the first 3-4 weeks I usually add 1/4 the recommended nutes beginning week 3. And gradually work my way up to full strength by week 5. Good luck fellow growers.

I'm not using foxfarm soil but a diffrent one from a hydro store.Doesn't have any time released nutes just bat gauno and worm casting.I added 1/4 dose of big bloom and gave them a watering.Think I might have my ph to low if thats what causes leaf twist.Noticed some of them have twisted leafs a little.Heres some pics Doc.Should I up the ph in my water( been keeping it 6.5ish) or is this ok.Run off seemed to be about the same as the ph'd water.hard to really tell by the color chart on the side of the bottle.Nice tri-meter would come in handy thats for sure.

the 1/4 bigbloom if fine---I like the first feeding to be at or below 250ppms--you would be close to that or under with the 1/4 bigbloom.

If you start with freash FFOF in the seedling stage than you are correct sir.

You're OK for now---Just check the run-off PH when you get the meter. 5.5 to 6.5 for soil is great.
