Odor problem

I have used a 30 gal , but it would be very cheap to just try a small 5 gal it just be a little h2o high concentrated neutralizer and fill till you have about 3 inch from top if you have a big exhaust may have to go bigger. care full were you vent out because it will be pushing out humidity, I have mine going outside so not a problem :p

I think humidity would be a problem for me. Might rot the timber in my roof.

True  But if you want you could move your exhaust that is venting in your attic and pipe it to the eave vent in your attic:shock:

King of Jah, is there a chimney breast that is not in use in your room? I am lucky that I have one in mine. I just smashed a hole in the wall (takes a lot of work!) and put a 90 degree pipe elbow on the end of my duct and shove that in the hole so it points the exhaust upwards and out the house.

Ona gel works wonders, i dont even have a filter or anything just a good ol' bucket of ona. You could also stuff the end of the duct with drier sheets. Itll smell like ur doin laundry all day

Ona creates, in my opinion, an obnoxious odor of its own. I love my Phresh filter.

I tried to refill an old filter once. Maybe I got ripped off on the carbon I bought but it didn't work for crap.

I'm using a 6inch Phresh Filter w/ Vortex Fan and I keep my fan controls about half way and haven't had a problem growing some pretty stinky stuff. Assuming your scrubber isn't toast, you may try to turn the fan down a little to allow it more time to scrub the air that is passing through it?

I would have to get a speed controller for my fan but ill give that a go. Thort it would of worked at its normal speed.
Keeps my room temp pretty good

Im not sure if thats your issue but sometimes when the air is pushed or pulled too quickly through the scrubber, some of the smell sometimes escapes. This is of course considering your scrubber is working fine and your ventilation is set up correctly.

You could also just damper the intake before the filter to reduce the airflow. If nothing else it would be a good test to see if it is an airflow issue.

Ive done that actually I wasnt sure if I had negative air flow so tested it.
So air flow is all good.
I cam take few pics of the outake and intake if that helps

just a thought, have you tried shaking your filter and reorienting it? some of the cheap filters develop air channels in them that allow smell to pass through without being scrubbed.
