can anybody help ? would really appreciate it.

also to add how often does the carbon filter need to be replaced. do i need to replace the white cotton on the filter or the whole filter ?
ive had the filter not in use for about 1year mayb a year and a half. been in use for the last 7 weeks.
and can smell the odor from the out take point not in the flower room.
is that a filter replacement ?

You said vented into your ceiling? Do you mean your attic? If it is then some how you have opening in your attic space and you should direct vent it outside.. Mine used to smell outside and I had a carbon filter on it. I had to go larger, I bought an inline filter, one that passed air through it while in the line of piping, not at the end or beg and it works amazing. Just have to change the carbon after about a year and filter for those end ones last maybe a year.

you need to change your filter every 9 months

Not sure if you were asking me, but it last long depends on how strong you had made the mix and how fast it evaporates and the size of the garbage can you use but long

It all depends on the brand you get on how long the filter will last. I use Phresh filters they are a quality company and the price isn't terrible. http://www.phreshfilter.com(buy off amaozon) they carry a high grade virgin carbon http://www.phreshfilter.com/about/phresh-filter-difference.aspx
If your not looking to spend a shiny penny you can always buy a 50lb bag of carbon for around $50 just pop the rivits off the filter you have, dump, rinse, refill. You'll have to get creative with how you keep the cap on but duct tape is always a good go it. Water dog brought up a good point as well check the fan ratings as well as your filters. Push comes to shove until you can fix the problem throw 1-2 (no more) fabric softness in the end of your ducting to keep it all on the d.l. If needed

I purchaced my fan filter and silencer as a whole kit from ebay for 300$.
So im assuming the filter isnt good quality the fan works great tho the cfm on both are rated 440cfm.
Wich is abit over kill for more room from my calculations.

I just went to my local hydro store he has phresh and also mountain air filters for $180 and life span is 3 years.

So im hoping that will solve the problem.

My space is limited

I have used a 30 gal , but it would be very cheap to just try a small 5 gal it just be a little h2o high concentrated neutralizer and fill till you have about 3 inch from top if you have a big exhaust may have to go bigger. care full were you vent out because it will be pushing out humidity, I have mine going outside so not a problem :p
