Google hydrogen infrastructure. Maybe you will get it. Probably not, though.
You have to explain it like you do to a 3 year old sometimes for him to grasp the concept.

He is saying you contradict yourself when you say there is no hydrogen filling infrastructure, then allude to a several scattered around the world. He thinks infrastructure is one or more filling stations. Because a 200 miles commute to get filled up with hydrogen is a viable choice or something.

He doesn't want to admit that having hydrogen station infrastructure would likely never happen in the private market due to the regulatory atmosphere.

You both are implying fossil fuels are the only option available..

what if we took the subsidies we give to oil and gave them to other energies instead? would they be viable or much closer to it?

no, you have completely and totally missed the point. I don't know how you can possibly even come to that conclusion.

I said nothing about hydrogen other than London didn't understand, I certainly never said it was the only possible alternative.

What do you think is a viable option other than fossil fuels to meet America's/the worlds energy needs?

There are many. How about cars that run on what Nikola Tesla called "dark Energy"? Look it up, its a bit long to explain it all.

What about large Photovoltaic panels that use the power of the sun to charge batteries on cars? Just need to figure out a better battery.

Steam engine cars are a very viable idea, they were making them at the turn of the last century (1900). small nuclear powered steam engines?

How about we run cars on all that Hope and Change we were promised? That has to be a huge untapped pile of wasted energy there.
That's just a few ideas.

And would you suppose these options to be economically viable as well?
