Yeah sometime I just like a test of will power. Not often but I do...lol
I can appreciate that, I give it short breaks sometimes but then I get the notion that I'm not getting any younger and just say fuck it.

If anyone can name an activity that is not improved by the "consumption of marihuana" then I'd like to hear it ;)

A drug test is not improved by the "consumption of marihuana". That's about the only thing I could think of. Everything else is awesome..lol

An independent review by the agency, made public Jan. 31, found that while the project would create about 2,000 short-term construction jobs over two years (or 3,900 if construction took only a year), actually running the pipeline would provide just 50 long-term positions. It also would support another 40,000 "indirect" or "induced" jobs across the country during construction, ranging from canteen cars serving food along the pipeline route to factories manufacturing construction equipment for the project.

“That’s a similar amount of construction work to what’s necessary to build a medium-size mall, and after it’s built, far fewer permanent positions

http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2014/03/10/experts-keystone-xl-pipeline-may-create-fewer-jobs-than-most-expect
Wow, just wow.... I mean, WOW.

You do realize ALL INFRASTRUCTURE jobs are temporary yet you support it when obama said so?
You realize ALL CONSTRUCTION jobs are temporary?

Atleast stick to "it will mess up the environment" atleast then you have a leg to stand on...

Pretty sure every contractor in America would want in on this "temporary" job.

but at least we can benefit directly from repairing our infrastructure, I have yet to hear the benefits of Keystone. and messing up our environment has been covered. I assume you have not read this whole thread. WOW I mean just WOW

So on one hand the entire USA screams about foreign oil dependency and on the other hand we have someone saying they dont see how it could help... Ok, enough said, you are basing it all on emotion and not reality. You hate republicans and anything they might want to do, you must oppose. I am certainly glad I dont live like that.

you do realize that this Canadian oil is bound for the Asian market. Chinese investors have helped to finance early work on an alternate route out of Alberta
Why do you love China more than the USA

It's been pointed out to you many times but you still seem lost on how markets work. Oil is fungible. If you don't know the meaning of the word just ask or look it up. Repeating this makes you seem like you don't understand how markets work at all.

So you starting with the insults early I see. Stop repeating what Nodrama so likes to say. You still risking hurting our environment to send a supply to the Asian market. I say it is long time we get ourselves off the dependency of oil. We could have been done this, but greed and the likes stops this from happening. Why do you hate the USA.

there is no gaurantee that americans will build the canadian pipeline they just want to run there pipeline thru our country for there benifit.build the speed train or more light rail trains that would be built by americans and would benifit americans and produce more jobs.

So do you understand market forces? Are you standing by your assertion that more oil won't drop prices?

I'm not just repeating what NoDrama says, I'm repeating what every economist ever says about supply and demand. They call it a law, not a theory, can you tell us how it works?

I'm standing by my stance that oil is a limited source. I'm standing by the risk of totally fucking up our environment. I'm standing by we need to get off of oil dependency PERIOD. I'm standing by you seem upset about our last discussion about Public schools.

I commend you for not including that you stand by it won't affect prices because they are selling it to China, at least you let that one tidbit go.

I think you are projecting a bit on who got upset. I remember it being you who got all flustered because I didn't want to talk family stuff here. You even repeated an old post where I forgot where I was and mentioned a little. You wanted more, but showed you have the same tendencies as your crew. The stalker shit is real here, sorry, but you know I'm right. There's even a member here that you share PMs with that keeps folders of info on other members. You'll just have to try to understand.

old post. hell you had just said the shit in the same thread. The thread was not even a week old. No one forces you to make statements. You do that on your own. I merely was showing you how we all, including our children, benefit from the system. Stop being so damn paranoid. You only here for the politics. RIU is the best place for politics:lol:

I still hold to we ruin our environment for the benefit of the Asian market as well as the other things I listed. The only people who mostly benefit from Keystone is China, Canada, and the Koch brothers. Do you realize that we should have been running cars off of water or do you think we do not have this technology ?

Yep, and if you watched the documentary "who killed the electric car" you'd really be pissed.

I'll say it again because just when I think you understand the concept of "The Law Of Supply and Demand" you go off the deep end with Koch boogeymen. Oil is fungible.

I Phones, Diamonds, $100.00 Bills, Koch Brothers, Wall Street Stockbrokers all stuffed into your gas tank won't make your farm tractor operate or heat your home.....

OK?

Gas in your tank doesn't make the iPhone less expensive either. I'm not sure what your point is.

What would happen to the price of iPhones if they doubled the supply? Up or down?

They would go down until lack of oil would make parts more valuable, thus the cost goes up.

Just like The American Chestnut tree oh sure you can still get it, but just try to build a house with it and you'll be out of luck.

I know trees and oil are different, with other types of trees available it is Fungible.
I am unaware of other types of Hydrocarbons that are available to lube and fuel our Defense.

Trees are an excellent comparison. The deforestation of the rain forest... does it affect lumber prices here in the US?

Like oil, trees are a finite commodity, when you make more available, the price of lumber goes down. You can argue how harmful it is, you can argue over the fact that we are burning through limited resources, but what you can't do is claim the supply doesn't have any effect on price as London tried to do.

Like I said before, the price is irrelevant compared to the potential environmental damage
