Oakland pot factories get final approval

i believe the labels are there for limitation of product liability, so the maker can't be sued for other uses
it will be tough to pass any legislation that is immune to zoning or similar tricks
It's intended for liability purposes but that's not all it applies for. The only reason it doesn't get pushed now is because it would be grounds for double-jeopardy, and the fines are probably lower.

that would be a real stretch in the court system, it doesn't seem to have been used that i've heard
but many legal activities can be regulated through zoning and other safety ordinances
your MJ bill could be 'MJ is legal' and zoning could still be an issue

They could outlaw glass blowing in your home as well for fire reasons... I dont think they will go completely in that direction. The city council is in it for the revenue of over 1 million dollars. Safety my ass...

they are already using the "safety" angle. they will use any angle needed to fill their agenda. there is a money train rolling and nobody is going to be able to stop it.

no one is trying to help the pot smoker. they only want your money. :cuss:

True... But selfishly for me it is the camels nose under the tent... And it is going to happen in the most advantageous way for the politicians and the corporations with deep pockets. Sad but true..

But why do we allow this? As citizens we have the right to form and make our voices heard. Are we all too washed to do so? I know I can put down my B to protest this BS bill.

this is pure bullshit. fuck richard lee and all the others in oakland trying to build marijuana corporations and force the small guys out...i say vote no on 19
This guy hit the nail on the head. Do we want Walmart cooperate weed dealers? No we don't. And there IS politicians getting lined pockets for this. This is corruption right before your eyes people. Go the the next city council meeting and voice it.

prop 19 has nothing to do with these large MJ factories, how could it? it's not law yet, and may never be law
the MJ factories seem to going full speed ahead, prop 19 or not
what has happened is DEA has stepped away from MMJ enforcement
take away federal law enforcement, and this is what you get
i suppose you could start to circulate petitions to ask DEA to come back and do its thing

They are simply tying to rush it in Oakland because its getting so much opposition. They probably need to fictionalize some numbers to get support.

How does this affect the 'pleasure smokers' who want to grow 3 plants or less?
you get a 5 x 5 foot space to grow as much as you like, your drying/curing would also need to stay in that area
a 2 foot 'riser' is what i think i would do, drying curing at bottom, upper part for growing

Hell with that I want to plant a row a cannabis right beside my corn. My garden is 20x50.

RIGHT????
Theoretically yes, but I'm not sure how successful we would be in boycotting without the cooperation of almost all cannabis consumers...

Most likely the factory weed will be less expensive to produce but because of the insane taxes the government will impose on these factory cultivators, the price will probably stay around the same since the public is already used to the high prices so why would the distributors want to change that? They would make less money if they did and I have a feeling that ALL of this is for profit.

i haven't had the fortune(or misfortune) of sampling dispensary weed
but i do see it's expensive as shit($10 a gram, WTF) and quality varies a lot
i don't get how they sell as much as they do
but if you get to the point of legal(mostly anyways), who wants to buy dispensary weed?
i'd think you'd get a much better deal buying in the neighborhood AND the risk would be zero

Shit... that's more than enough for one smoker. What's the problem (as long as you're not looking to make a business out of it)?

You've got it so good right now unlike us here in Europe. I could not vote no to a deal like this. I mean how many people in California wanna grow just for themselves compared to those who wanna grow larger amounts for other people? Any idea on the ratio?

i have seen plenty of posts from growers that say this is not enough for their needs
i really can't imagine that kind of need, but then i'm a light smoker
i live in NY so i don't get this choice, but NY isn't too bad as long as you keep it small
i suspect much of the complaints come from the smaller grower, doing less than 100 plants, and making a decent living doing it
and i really do feel their pain, not being sarcastic, we've all had hard times in our lives
but events are really moving in Cali right now, these MMJ factories are pretty wild, there has to be some back door law enforcement/legislative deal going on
