I agree. US forces must be wearing thin. If they were to invade/attack or do whatever else to NK, I'd imagine that it wouldn't go well, as has been said, SK can probably look after itself for now. And after having done a bit of research, NK is very underwhelming in terms of "firepower" I'm not sure if they are planning on using those nukes, but it would appear that they are the only useful thing that they have in their arsenal. They also have China, but I highly doubt that China will get involved and make enemies with the rest of the world. What would be the point in that........The US

I think SK can look after themselves for now. If America were to get involved it would be Vietnam all over again. On the other hand, maybe it's time the American power-house learned a lesson or 2.

Korea of 60 years ago and Korea of today are significantly different, You're ignorance on the subject is amusing. Korea now has a very large industrial base for sustained war, similar to the U.S. during WW2...the north does not. Would we be willing? we have a legal obligation to do so with the mutual defense pact. Korea has it's own army which is actually large and powerful contrary to your uninformed opinion, and the U.S. has major military installations in south east asia for this exact purpose.

The Average family in N.Korea is not radical nor wants war. But they dont have a say do they? The truth is N. Korea could and would love to wipe the South out and just take over for more land thats simple. But the U.S being their they cant just Shell the entire D.M.Z and seoul because American life would be lost and we would be forced to react and N.Korea would rather us back off and let them Whoop the south. Yes the south has American machinery such as ships and planes but N. Korea has Numbers and in Number they have Countless Mortar and Howitzers Aimed at the Capital and all the Critical points of the South. Remeber the S.Korea CAPITAL is 30miles give or take from the BORDER. N.Korea doesnt need to use ANY ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY ie Rockets, ICBM, MISSILES. because their mortars alone can reach 100+ miles. South Korea Cannot Afford Economically To Go To War. Thats why the N. is just wanting more FREEBIES.

Korea literally has Countless Maned howitzers and mortars Aimed toward the south, No Technology can stop thoes SHELLs from falling. The South Having the ABILITY to destroy the north doesnt mean they can Sustain the Economic DAMAGE of having their Cities Shelled for weeks. Think about it, Its not just about who has the bigger stick.. Who has more to lose?

The South Has Nice Cities, New Buildings, their on the road to Modernizing. They Dont want to be Blown back to the stone ages.. N.Korea Could Destroy an area of Seoul that homes 25 MILLION people. thats a bigger picture than just saying WE HAVE THE U.S , WE HAVE NUKES, BLAH BLAH. They would never, could never Risk having so many people RUNNING ACROSS THE BORDER INTO CHINA. its not just S. Vs N. it has to do with all the bordering countries. Nothing will happen at RANDOM, maybe to us..but some1 knows whats going on.

I'm not sure if you have been following the thread..? I was responding to someone saying i'm stupid or wrong or whetever the point was but this person had posted some thoughts that showed he didn't really have an understanding of the Korea situation past and present. I agree with you that N. Korea could over take south now. I understand strength in numbers. My point about the U.S. was because he brought up WWII and our manufacturing and tried to compair that to S Korea...the diffrence being it would be a short war and those factories would be destroyed in a matter of hours by N. korean Morters as you pointed out

I think this is a really risky move and i'm not sure who actually made the call to do this. Yeah we could light them up. But their no joke and their waiting for it while I don't think were ready for it. I worry they might be crazy enough to blast our ships if we get close to what they consider their teritory. I think if they blast us we would either show the global community a very weak hand by not retaliating or we would be forced to attack and I don't think Americans have the stomach for a real war. The losses we took during action in Korea were over 50000 and WWII was more Now I dont think people are that commited. I hope we don't go instigating them if we are not ready.
