Looking at some recon photos of NK taken in the last 10 years, it does not seem to have helped them out much either. That didn't seem to stop them.

You can argue about technicalities all you want the point is the north would not wipe out the south....EVER.We have been fighting N. Korea for 60 years it never ended and we never won. It has been an armistice which is basicly a cease fire. that is what the D.M.Z. is all about and why we have had troops over their for 60 years. And if I were trying to give a history lesson I would explain that we were never at war with N. Korea
they would have allready done it if not for our intervention. We would not be willing or able to defend S. Korea if the north were to launch a full invasion todayYou can argue about technicalities all you want the point is the north would not wipe out the south....EVER.

Illuminating...The US needs to stay out of it and let them do whatever they want...The US needs to keep its nose out of things between others before it gets broken.....as time will tell

I agree. US forces must be wearing thin. If they were to invade/attack or do whatever else to NK, I'd imagine that it wouldn't go well, as has been said, SK can probably look after itself for now. And after having done a bit of research, NK is very underwhelming in terms of "firepower" I'm not sure if they are planning on using those nukes, but it would appear that they are the only useful thing that they have in their arsenal. They also have China, but I highly doubt that China will get involved and make enemies with the rest of the world. What would be the point in that........The US needs to stay out of it and let them do whatever they want...The US needs to keep its nose out of things between others before it gets broken.....as time will tell

it will happen and this will be the war of wars that in the end he who stands will write history and bring about a new world of orderWar is a great economic stimulus ... just what the world needs.
Sad but true.
Korea of 60 years ago and Korea of today are significantly different, You're ignorance on the subject is amusing. Korea now has a very large industrial base for sustained war, similar to the U.S. during WW2...the north does not. Would we be willing? we have a legal obligation to do so with the mutual defense pact. Korea has it's own army which is actually large and powerful contrary to your uninformed opinion, and the U.S. has major military installations in south east asia for this exact purpose.they would have allready done it if not for our intervention. We would not be willing or able to defend S. Korea if the north were to launch a full invasion today
Look-you are the one who has proven himself to be uninformed to the point of laughability throughout this thread- Their would be no sustained war. Their factories would be destroyed. the U.S. homeland was not under attack during wwII that is why our manufacturing was key. You're ignorance on the subject is amusing. I'm not sure if you have been following the thread..? I was responding to someone saying i'm stupid or wrong or whetever the point was but this person had posted some thoughts that showed he didn't really have an understanding of the Korea situation past and present. I agree with you that N. Korea could over take south now. I understand strength in numbers. My point about the U.S. was because he brought up WWII and our manufacturing and tried to compair that to S Korea...the diffrence being it would be a short war and those factories would be destroyed in a matter of hours by N. korean Morters as you pointed outBeard still, its not a Dick measuring Game between the Two.. the south Has U.S backing them, so what. N. Korea literally has Countless Maned howitzers and mortars Aimed toward the south, No Technology can stop thoes SHELLs from falling. The South Having the ABILITY to destroy the north doesnt mean they can Sustain the Economic DAMAGE of having their Cities Shelled for weeks. Think about it, Its not just about who has the bigger stick.. Who has more to lose?
Except that the North looks at the south as an American puppet nation. It's all about America and what the north wants, namely guarantee that America won't attack them. The US needs to stay out of it and let them do whatever they want...The US needs to keep its nose out of things between others before it gets broken.....as time will tell

I think this is a really risky move and i'm not sure who actually made the call to do this. Yeah we could light them up. But their no joke and their waiting for it while I don't think were ready for it. I worry they might be crazy enough to blast our ships if we get close to what they consider their teritory. I think if they blast us we would either show the global community a very weak hand by not retaliating or we would be forced to attack and I don't think Americans have the stomach for a real war. The losses we took during action in Korea were over 50000 and WWII was more Now I dont think people are that commited. I hope we don't go instigating them if we are not ready.I like how the US just decided to send in the aircraft carriers anyway...its just like saying "you know what, fuck you, we could bomb your ass back to stone age if we really fucking wanted to"
Some serious tension going on...
