Ur veg time is going to depend on ur hieght requirements. With all unknown strains i would reccomend no more than a foot tall in veg cuz they could still tripple in size during flower. Keep in mind u can top them to get more stems for colas to grow on guurl.
Also, i would say so far u have ingenuified mostly everything and im proud. Get urself a small submersible pump to use only for water drainage of ur tubs. Drop it in the bucket and make sure u pick up enuff hose to run to the nearest drain. U dont really want to keep the roots out for long periods in dwc although its not going to hurt much. Some hydro setups are timed to only flood and drain periodically thruout the day.

Hope that helps

so everything seems to be going well for the vegging stages. i know its around a foot or when the nodes alternate that i start 12/12, but i was wondering what would happen if i start now? what do you guys think? as you can see i switched up my lighting for this grow since my last attempt. Pics 1 and 2 are the same plant in its own tub with one 65ook daylight on it. Pics 2 and 3 are two different plants under 2 daylight 6500k and one hps above all of them. RIU is awesome for advice!

also i was wondering if i have a sativa or indica plant?
Indica vs. Sativa can often be (most easiest) identified by the girth of the fan leaves. Sativa's generally have a much longer & thinner style leaf where as Indica has a short but very fat fan leaf structure. Not a science by any means, but more or less a guide to give you a rough idea. I'd say you're caught between both but i'd lean more toward indica, for now anyway.

so today is the day! i set the lights to 12/12 and in a week or so im looking to get different lighting. someone told me that soft white is good for flowering? can i still use my daylight cfl's and hps through flowering?

yeah hps is for flower, buy daylight is it the red looking light cause thats a yes. Blue will flower just take a little longer some say and not as productive. SOme say more resin as they say the hps lacks some of the resins producing ulraviolet blue lights have like metal halide and cfl. It is widely regarded as true to use hps and red for flower though. Nice. . . pic

The HPS is perfect for flowering but I would switch the 6500k cfl's out to the 2700K cfl's for flower. The plants look good Netpirate! The plant below began a 12-12 at 7" and it ended up 14" and just under a z

if you buy more cfls make sure they are lower temp kelvin in color, like 3000k or something in that ball park it will say on the package.
