so i got a clone of a mate of mine to get me kick started, but since i planted it and put it in my grow box for about an hour the leaves have gone all droopy and it looks as though it's dying..

I used cloning powder and put it into a small pot with some wet soil.
PLEASE HELP IF YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!!

also i will upload some pictures in a bit. My camera is out of battery so im charging it.

hi if youve just planted it to day the leaves will droop, they always droop the first day, they should be fine by tomorrow, have you not got a humidity dome for her? you dont water them till they have roots either, you should just be misting the leaves atleast once aday. i would def get some sort of dome over it, heated propergatoe is even better

thanks for your help, iv'e just put a plastic bag over the pot. I dont have a humidifier so the bag will have to do.
so should i leave the bag on the plant over night?

and ill post some pictures of the plant tomorrow so you can see if it has recovered.

Thanks!

if the clone has not rooted, you need to keep it covered until it has good roots established. this can take from 3 days to 3 weeks depending on strain and conditions. without roots a cutting/clone cannot take water in through the stem..all nutes and moisture comes from the leaves. until there are roots the more humid the better. so...keep covered and spray as needed to keep moist...

have you put it into a pot? i would wait atlest 7 days b4 checking for roots, but if the plant still looks alive with the leaves standing nice and proud with most of the leaves still green you should be ok, dont mess around with them, dont pull them out looking for roots either, 7-10 days is what the average is for rooting, spray the plant atleast once aday, you can do it 3 times if you want but with the dome on once is enough

p.s i think its easyer to use peat pellets for cutting because the root start to grow out the sides so you can see when they are rooted

also dont worry if the lower leaves start to go yellow, this is normal and means your plant are feeding them selfs

mist them once a day, usually early lights on to midway through light cycle so they are not wet when they sleep. Use peat pucks or rockwool and you will see the roots coming out. once you see roots keep them there a few days to let the roots develop before transplanting.

yh it's in a pot, and has the bag over it. ill check for roots in 7 days, not sure how to check tho
place a finger either side of the plant stem right at the bottom on top of soil, tip it upside down and gently sqeeze the bottom of pot until the pot slides off the soil, if its rooted you should be able to seen the whites of the roots sticking through the soil, like i say i wouldnt even bother untill atleat 7 days b4 checking, aslong as they look ok just let them do there thing

p.s what sort of light is it under

so here are the pics from my plant, apparently the plant is suppose to be droopy after day 1 of cloning, but it seems TOO droopy for my liking. Will it survive or should i chuck it out :/

i dont have a dome so im using a plastic bag, but if i take off the fan leafs will it be alright?
DrFever means to cut the leaves in half (even more than half on thoses they look quite big)so on each big leaf just cut across with scisors, the plant has no roots so it carnt suport its self, plus it stops them from sweating to much out of bigger leafs, ive just watched that video he posted and thats what i mean,

ok, i took about just over half of the leaves of as you said. It's back under the dome/bag now and my box is now at a temperature of 25 degrees and sometimes reaches 28 degrees.
hopefully this should sort it out.

as the days go by, what should it be looking like? like when does the plant start showing positive signs thats its getting better?

the leaves should be stand up and it should just look like its alive, if its all droopy and not looking well it probly isnt, like i say just dont touch it and mess around keep the dome on remove once a day to let new air in for around 10 mins and should root in 7-10 days.

alright, sounds good. If its all still droopy in like 4 days should i be worried?

dude i think that plant is gone!!! she looks too depressed!... sorry for you bra. next time dont transplant the clone into a pot before it roots. and always keep them inside a bar or a dome to keep the humidity over 85%

if it still looks like that in another day or 2 i think its had it m8, the clones only really droop the day you take them, then when you put them under the dome when you look the next day they are standing all proud waiting for you, lol.
can you not get another one off your mate? cut the leaves like in the utube video and put them straight in to a peat pellet or something similar, pots are fine but not easy to check for roots for the first time, just make sure to put it straight under the dome( your bag).

did you put the clone straight into the pot at your freinds house or did you cut it then take it to your b4 you planted?
