fuck it... no one seems to understand she was already mad and made me her target today. shit even my older sister sees that she likes to make me a target. fuck this, i just needed to vent and have someone understand where i was coming from, instead of laying the blame at my feet for something i didnt cause, she even told me when i woke up it wasnt my fault, i did ask, have been trying to be kind and helpful, even after she hit me. so im done defending myself

We do understand that but you don't understand that we are trying to help you in your current situation. You aren't going to change your mom so you need to concentrate on changing you and your habits. Get a job. Pay a little rent. Buy and cook a dinner one day a week. This will go a long way. You have told us your situation and you need to work on changing that situation for the better. That starts by being responsible for yourself. That mean providing for yourself.

She's probably pissed at you because your adult teeth keep cutting her nipples. How long do you expect your mother to take care of you? Are your going to wait until you are 30?

The best time to plant a tree? 20 years ago.

The second best time? Right now.

i clean, i cook, im trying to go to school, just the job thing and my weight irritate her.

Yeah what thump said. I mean, do you know how much it cost just for YOU to eat everyday per month? If your mother is a single parent, im sure shes getting a bit pissy with how the food, gas and electricity prices are going up and her pay is staying the same. Your chomping down on her hard earned money and your not the least bit greatfull to that? If you are... how exactly do you show it? You just dont understand, thats all. It is YOUR fault, but your just to young and ignorant of the reasons why its your fault. Not big deal, just change that. Learn what you are doing wrong and change it. Its as simple as that! Everyone goes through this, and if you dont... then your probably a spoiled rich kid. (Like the ones that drive BMWs and think they are better than you because their mommy and daddy bought it for them) That 87 buick that you worked all summer for is better than that BMW because you know what a dollar is now and you actually went and got it. Nothing is more satisfying or even enlightening than doing something yourself. I know that rant had nothing to do with the subject at hand... but you will run across it in the future, if you haven't already.

so its fair my mom got to take her aggression out on me? its fair that my sister can talk to her how ever she wants and yet my mom lets her live here still, never lifted a hand to her??
urca one thing you will come to learn is that this world is far from fair.. very far from it, and there is no need to even ask this question as the answer is no, but what are you going to do about it??
i had a paper route when i was 11 years old and never had to get an allowance or what have you from my parents.. in the 11th grade i started to wash dishes in a local restaurant at night to earn enough money to buy a car the second i turned 17 and got my liscense.. after i graduated high school i was working two jobs and going to school at the same time.
ok, so maybe you don't have a job atm, but maybe you could help out around the house some, make dinner every night, wash the dishes, clean the house, etc.. let your mom know that although you don't have a job, your doing your part to make things easier for her around the house..
i'm sure if she sees some effort being put forth on your part, she will back off a lot ... and i agree, you don't have a job, but are always buying weed and shit when you do manage to get money, no wonder why your mom is pissed, she don't want to see you not succeed in life..

Everyone commenting on this page seems a bit slow in the head. Bro, that is called abuse lmao. She can't bust your lip!

Everyone here seems to keep judging you on living there but I was reading this with my girlfriend and neither of us could think of a single successful person who didn't live at home at eighteen in our school of over 1500. You usually don't even turn eighteen until senior year in high school.. So you are supposed to have a job with enough hours to move out while still attending classes?

No parent wants that added stress for their kids. Most parents around Ohio let their kids stay at home until mid twenties as long as they are going to college or working to save up. The only people we could think of that moved out before nineteen or twenty didn't get to graduate.

I really think it's a generational thing because it was way more common back in the 60's and 70's to be out early. Both my mom and grandmother were out by seventeen and my dad owned two acres and a house by twenty. That doesn't have anything to do with today's ways of life.

if my own mother said it wasnt my fault she was mad at first, get off your high horse and quit judging me. I just tried to make her feel better and have a normal conversation, and she freaked out. So fuck off.

and for everyone else, I just graduated. i didnt get a job while i was in high school because i had to do so much extra work to graduate that it was impossible. now ill admit ive been slacking on looking for a job, but fuck, you guys act like you never were my age

Insisting that we are judging you instead of simply providing a different perspective amounts to cognitive dissonance reduction.

having people who dont even know me tell me that im wrong simply by default because she is my mother and what she says goes is called JUDGEMENT

You miss the point man!

It's not even really about living at home and not having a job.. 3 kids can stress a woman out, life can stress a woman out. Having kids at home without jobs and that are over 18 CAN STRESS A WOMAN OUT! she has every right to get mad and angry sometimes.

If that was my mother and I was in that situation I would have left and gave her some time alone.

So mom flipped out and took it out on her? Who's mom hasn't been pissed and lashed out? If you cant take it than leave the damn house!

Of course, judgment is part of evaluating your situation, and we can only go by the facts you've provided, which obviously is only a fraction of the situation. My point is, you chose to focus on the judgment instead of trying to understand the crux of the problem. You focus on your mother being unfair and inconsistent, which are true assessments, but no solution will be found by fixating on those aspects.

No its not called judgment. We are not judging you, we just know how kids are. I wonder how much your buttering up your situation to make it more favorable towards yourself. Nobody in their right mind is going to bitch and complain about something and then give all the reasons WHY its their fault. Of course not, your going to go on about how mean so and so is and vilify them to try and get people on your side. What do you want, and "Awwwww POOR YOU! THAT SUCKS SO BAD YOUR MOM IS SOOOO MEAN!!!"? If so, go kick it with your friends, i bet they will give you that and more. The WORST thing you could have done is come and talk to a large community of older/wiser people and try to get pitty from them when every single stinkin one of us have gone through the same FKing thing. Take our advise or leave it... But PLEASE! stop trying to get pitty from us, because you wont find it here... or from any other adult for that matter.

The only person you can change is yourself. You should never change simply for the sake of pleasing others, but ask yourself, is there something you could change that would genuinely improve your situation, and by extension, your mother's.

you dont even know my mother. my brother doesnt live with us. anyway, its like a different set of rules for me. she can hand my bro a sack of purp but gets on my ass for smoking. my sister doesnt do dishes for weeks, barely cleans, parties, but since she has a job my mom doesnt say shit to her. and just to ice the cake, i get yelled at for my weight.
