in short
scrog is where you take all your long branches..
flatten themwith the screen
train them all parallel and tight to the screen
and train ALL the growing tips through the screen
to become their own apexes
you get a ton of tops that ALL become cola's
yup and its a bitch to do it with 2 or more plants of different height using the same screen.you need to lift one of those or bend the hell out of the tall one

on second thought ..it may be too stressful for you to go through a new method when the tips probably should have been trained
before flip.. surethey might turn out good doing it now but its not worth the stress.
your plants look healthy you grow good..yeh you would need to be a bit rough
maybe if you wanna try it next time
all the best

Well it was painful but I hacked away.20160501_204819.jpg 20160501_204727.jpg 20160501_204720.jpg 20160501_204727.jpg 20160501_204735.jpg 20160501_204744.jpg 20160501_204752.jpg 20160501_204800.jpgthis last pic is the runt if you can even believe it! And I brought one of my led hoods into the tent to help get some light down to the mutant and the runt like I said I would.

Looking much better. I'd take a bit more off, but thats just me. If it isnt going to be a cola or recieve good light saturation just below or above the net I cut it off -but I do understand your fear of hacking too much. You'll see at harvest how it works and next time you'll have a much greater understanding of how & why it works. Think like this, ...that pile of smalls you had cut off wasnt going to produce anything worth growing/cutting/drying/trimming or curing, and now ALL the energy and nutrients that would have went to the smalls are going to go straight to the colas above the net. You cut 8% to gain 15% in the end.

Oh I understand. Last round there was a BUNCH of lower lvl ones that just didn't get light and each node produced like a single calyx. It was very very worthless.I just kept reminding myself of that as I chopped.

i may not be able to visually interpret what was actually done there

[it looks like there is another good 6" you can go down so the branches are tight to the screen]

i would have slowly bent most all of those branches in that cluster of branches parallel to the screen

and pushed the screen way[way] down in there so most all your branches would be scrog

..brave lower branch removal airw!

There's gonna be a lot of stretching happenin I know from last run .that screen will fill up. And they're not tall enough to need to bend yet.you told me not to stress them, now you're saying otherwise.
I just yesterday raised the lights a good 8-10" higher than they've ever been as well so I'm sure they'll be reaching for the sky hete shortly.

yeah you said they were only 3 to 4 days into 12/12 so i think where ya got the screen is good, just tuck and position them as they grow to the screen.everyone does it dif ya just gotta do it a few times with the same strain and you will know exactly how to position the screen after a few runs.last plant i scrog'd kinda failed because the plant never stretched enough and about 40% of my branches still needed to be staked lol.i knew better with this star dawg cause it only grows about 6-8 inches in flower so thats my bad.chop day pic

Oh okay cool. Ya this is a STRETCHER! I just got my angelina reflectors and ideal holders for my cxb3590's. Trip to harbor freight for a new 7/64" bit and they'll be on by tomorrow!

no i told you since you have not done it before not to stress YOURSELF....

i just don't wanna get blamed for wrecking your grow..but fyi i had my first hid smf hydroponic setup in 1979..

but you need to feel comfortable with what to do

if it was me i would have that screen shoved down to where all those branches start...like yesterday

and only yesterday becausebit wasn't done before

sure the branches will stretch..

but you really want the internodal stuff to stretch and become colas

while the branches are parallel and tight to the screen..

but you are getting the idea..!!!

K guys... dilemma. Got my angelinas and adapters. Installed them "wrong " I guess even though the heights are the same either way. The reflector won't turn onto the adapter. It hits the plastic wire inserts of the chip lok holder. But I'm using 8mm M3 screws so I just ordered 12&14mm ones so I can get more length. But I don't see how this would matter if I put he holes next to the chip lok holes that hold it in place? Why does this matter?!?! Need help. @Growmau5 @welight @Rahz @alesh 20160503_105051.jpg 20160503_105131.jpg

I actually repositioned the small led hood to go down below the screen to provide supplemental light to the runt and the mutant with a million tops. It's looking good. Screens fuller everyday. This is what it finally looks like atm. Very pleased. Reflectors get you way more light hands down.20160503_150309.jpg 20160503_150324.jpg 20160503_150246.jpg 20160503_145208.jpg
