Yeah, so does Valium, it helps people relax. Right now weed is a prescription drug in Canada. Can you open up a store and sell other prescription drugs without any kind of license? If people have a medical need they can get a scrip.
Hmmm i think you misunderstand valiums purpose and what it was created for. You sound like a rec user. Doctors are charging people money for scripts. So how are they to afford it if on fixed disability income exactly? Youd know this if you were a medical patient. Its not your fault you have a hard time understanding, some are slower than others.....

The hypocrites strike again. Regardless of what you think of Emery or what his agenda is, it's just plain wrong for the Libs to specifically target them or anyone operating dispensaries. It's all about protecting the LP machine and ensuring that only the select few with connections and big dollars get in on rec legalization. It's disgusting and deserves some activism to push back and let them know we're not going away. If this sort of targeted oppression was happening anywhere else there'd be riots in the streets. Surely we can get together a one day peaceful demonstration against this government and the disgusting police forces that participated in these $ motivated raids. 4/20 is coming soon, getting as many people out for the 4/20 events would be a good start.

The regulations are very clear, mail order only for medical weed. That's just not good enough for Marc and Jodie though. They apparently think somebody may need an emergency hit.

There are lots of bad laws on the books that don't get enforced. Discretion, public interest and lack of harms caused should be guideposts

its not good enough for anyone who wants this///

except the ones who stand to make money...

so you are only in favour of the LP model? that's what we fought against so we could grow.
LP's tried to force us to do it their way and that's their first strike..lobbying against our grow rights....then the high prices so folks on disability can barely afford it...and the lies...and the pesticide scandal...yeah, let's go that route.
in order for us to get a better model, the boundaries have to be pushed and pushed hard so they get changed.
what would you have said to Terry Parker when he went against the Government so we have legal cannabis for medical users? would you have told him to sit down and be quiet?

Gosh that's a lot of words to say 'I'm right because I say so'. CC branded dispensaries in Vancouver were raided, and cannabis was only left because the cops didn't get it all.

I'm not really sure why you're proud of not knowing what a logical fallacy is, or why you think repeating it makes it any more valid.

Wilcox and the untraceable donation boxes aside, who are you referring to lining their pockets? In any event, the case was won, so it most definitely 'meant something' at the end.

You're pretty clear that you break the law for your own benefit, which is more or less the same as what you accuse Marc of doing, so congrats on being a hypocrite?
From what I understand is that only one search warrant was used in the raid of cchq the other store fronts were not raided. I may be wrong but that's the info I got. Please link details of cc store fronts in Van being raided.

I'm not too proud to admit when I don't know something, I'm still not clear what a logical fallacy is and how it's relevant to my opinion. I'm willing to bet that that majority here don't either. Please explain.

You want names and addresses?

I'm willing to do the time for the crime, I'm not going to whine that I've been mistreated because I'm trafficking in hundreds of pounds. He knew the consequences, what did he expect?

My argument to the original poster is that this isnt the most important thread ever. I'm more concerned about other pressing events. Marc and Jodie being arrested for trafficking pre legalization isn't going to change anything imo. They would probably be better off if they waited like everybody else. By jumping the gun what have they accomplished?

this is how I see it -> in the big war coming the dispensaries - in order to be licensed on a provincial and federal level - will be forced to sell LP products...
I suspect this is the case. I e-mailed the first dispensary licensed in Vancouver last year, The Wealth Shop, to congratulate and also ask them if the city had requested they stock LP product. They failed to respond, which is telling, in my opinion. Personally, I found it interesting that The Wealth Shop didn't distribute any cannabis to patients at any point, but they received the first licence issued.

And I bet those LP storefront businesses will have their business licenses bumped to the head of the list of applicant. Or theyll write the laws in such a way that only the already wealthy can afford to apply. Much like the LP process

Clear as mud...mail order only for LP poisonpot, but home gardens and DG's are a legal option too. The businesses in Vancouver are licensed and regulated by the city. They paid a $30,000 licensing fee and pay sales tax and payroll tax like any other business. What did their $30K buy if not proof of legitimacy as a business? The city of Vancouver will be called to defend licensing the dispensaries. If Chucky and Uncle Bill weren't so invested in the LP cash cow, what do you think the chances of Toronto cops ordering raids on a licensed BC business? This is heavy-handed bullying by Ottawa designed to protect their investments and those of their friends. I want to see the political donations made by every LP and the 'private donations' from LP employees and/or their families to the Liberal party.
Which LP are you working for Bob? No self-respecting Canadian cannabis consumer, much less a medical user would give a rats ass about government regulations at this point. They have no credibility and the courts are not going to convict the victims of a coordinated politically motivated attack. The fact that ONLY Marc and Jodie were targeted when others continue to operate spells it out. This will backfire on Justin and his band of misfits.

I don't work for LPs or have a stake in it any other way, just expressing my honest opinion. The Emerys are attention seekers and they like to put stuff right in peoples' faces. They also probably are profiting from it. I just don't see what they did as anything other than law flouting. Several people have been running online weeds shops for years without raids. It just doesn't get the Emerys enough attention I guess.

No, you're not getting it, Bob. What have these online weed shops contributed to ending prohibition? I'm pretty sure Marc has had enough of jail and being arrested to last him a lifetime and it didn't sound like Jodie had a great time...yet you claim they got busted to get attention? I'm not sure how old you are, but I don't think you get the whole concept of activism and civil disobedience. It was quite popular in my generation growing up (60's & 70's) and created much change you take for granted today. You might not like the Emery's or their methods but there is no denying the change they helped force. I don't understand the "put stuff right in people's faces" comment, nobody is forcing you to listen to the message. So if you don't work for an LP, which government office do you hang out in? If you don't have a personal stake, you would have dropped the subject days ago, imo........
