didn't think anyone with ties to an LP would be capable of doing a smoke test....
after all are they not anti.'s
I remember reading the many conditions they put on them and seem to remember that they can't smoke if they work there, mandatory drugs tests and the like. So they would have to source it out to a 3rd party contractor... except they're all dead from the poisoned shwagg, there's no one left to test it

Imo, there are far more deserving activist that don't whore themselves out to the media. The true activists don't need fame or fortune. The Emories are small fish when it comes to true activist who stood by patients when they needed help. Remember the Emories never fought for med use, they always positioned themselves towards rec.

Itsme.
Sometimes activism needs to be more then just helping people who need it, sometimes it takes pushing up against the law.....I think the point of marc is that he was paying taxes and running a legit business, it was clean, friendly, safe, a good model.
I think you are looking at what he was caught with and saying well he is all about the money, but I argue and say maybe it is just simply that he was operating in a market that can facilitate that kind of sales. Fact is he took 250,000 off the streets that otherwise would of went to the gangs. Marc has always been about making money, but he has also been about spending it.

as for them going for rec over med, you could argue that if rec med is not a problem, I think they are trying to say that having restrictions on this plant at all is not good be it rec or med.

on a side not 300 pounds is not a lot of cannabis from what I am being told by people in the city, guys are moving 100's of pounds a week.
Fact remains that people can chose from an LP or a club like marcs and they seem to be choosing the later.
Lets face it LPs are not offering what the market wants on more then one level.
Strains, personal service, not growing the strains they do offer well. Then there is the whole pesticides from LP's scandal and they fact that said LPs did an "internal investigation" and could not determine how the stuff got on site let alone on plants? wtf??? So you are telling me plant ninjas just show up at night and can walk right into the grow passed the cameras???? LOL what a joke. Lets face it LPs do not offer a better product at this point and the true Cannabis users know this, the only people that are falling for it are new users, and the funny thing about the new users is they are literally created by LPs lobbying Dr's to push Cannabis onto retired folk(in other words they are like drug pushers in a high school yard trying to get people hooked on their product)

Anyways sorry for the rant but I just do not feel marc is in the wrong. I applaud him and jody, as for marc and jail he will not get sentenced and this is just part of doing business for him, he wanted to get arrested so he can fight this in court.

I can state as fact, that 100's of pounds move thru the 6ix on a weekly basis. I know 1 guy who moves 10kg/week...and that's just flowers. The concentrate market in TO is also blowing up (no pun intended) at a phenomenal rate. The TO dispensaries see only a small portion of that poundage (flowers and concentrates), as most BM producers have moved online via vendors. No Gov can stop the BM...it will still thrive under legalization...IMO!

Just read a quote from Jodi. Can't find it but was something like. Too busy for activism with all our stores, now that I'm banned from them I can become an activist again. To me that admittance that the stores had nothing to do with activism.

I will try and find the quote.

i read that as well..

read this too

To those who say "medical is legal - stop breaking the law":
it's only legal because of court victories AFTER being arrested.

The stores are a form of activism called civil disobedience. You saying Rosa Parks just should have sat in the back of the bus where society at the time deemed she belonged?

It's the squeaky wheels that get the grease and there aren't many squeakier than the Emerys.

The 5 year vacation he got in a US federal prison was part of a plea bargain so his two co-defendants wouldn't have to do any jail time and if that's not dedication to the cause I don't know what is. He's pushed from the beginning starting with arrests for importing obscene materials from the states. Albums by 2 Live Crew that were banned in Canada back in 1990.

Check out this short bio of his life and roots in activism.

The arrest was selling body counts "cop killer".

Here's a quote from that little bio about Marc.

Emery next ran afoul of the law in 1990, for selling banned music. That was in protest after a record store owner was convicted for selling the 1989 rap album As Nasty As They Wanna Be by 2 Live Crew. Emery was eventually convicted of selling obscene material.

It's nothing of the sort. Jodie's tweet was indicating due to the time commitment she didn't have the time to be as involved in activism as she would have liked. Jeremiah (and others) from CC have done tons of content on PotTV, covered legal happenings all the way from the original Mernagh trial to present, have Kirk Tousaw and others on often to talk about issues.

Nothing to do with activism? I'm going to go ahead and say that breaking the law for your own purposes and not to change it so others don't have to go to jail unjustly has little to nothing to do with activism.

All one has to say when someone inevitable starts virtual signaling about 'but it's illegal!' is pointing out that if Terry Parker had followed that line of action, there would be no medical cannabis in this country.

Do you shop on Sundays? There used to be a law against that, and Marc broke it too so it would fall.

This thread should be a funny read after placing another LP troll on Ignore - lol
LOL, it was, right from the beginning. Apparently I already had him on ignore before I even made it to this thread.

As far as the Emery's go I think their dedication to the cause is beyond phenomenal. I was really disappointed when I found out that one of their dispensaries in BC had tainted cannabis. I believe testing revealed the presence of two banned pesticides. But that just proves what I believed all along, if you want it done right, do it yourself. I like to think that is possible in part due to the activism of the Emery's and many others.

Yeah I do not blame Marc for the tainted cannabis. I blame the dumb ass growers who have poisoned some of us for years for profit. The next guy I meet who says some stupid shit like "What do I care, we all die" I will be beating the shit out of them. Anyways, I am sick of most of the BS in this community, I rarely log on here any more because it is all bogus now a days, the people, the gov, the corporate sluts, all of you drive me crazy.

Shout out to Dman, Flash, and a few others on here, the rest can go to hell.

Yeah, I do not blame Marc either, in fact I really do not care who is actually doing it.
All I really want is a supply of clean cannabis. Growing does that but it takes some time to get enough going for a perpetual supply. Options for clean meds seem to be slim pickings these days.

My sympathy goes out to Jodi and Mark and the OG crew

Once your targeted by the Police you can become a leper of sorts as others fear the same thing happening to them.
They need our Moral support more so write a letter after all they are our cannabis warriors
