im an outdoor grower ive been using MG on a few of my plants mainly as just an experiment but that shit is definitely working way above my expectations. ive been using it once a week for almost 8 weeks and my plants are just about a foot taller than my other plants that arent on the MG. im probably gonna keep using it on some plants except switch to organic
I've been using MG potting mix for mine and they look great! I'd say that for the money, it can't be beat.

I have been using Mg time released as well and no ill affects. I have also fed my 4 week old baby in veg twice with 26-10-10 nutes and all is well. Only noticed a slight discolor on a few tips but u really have to look to notice. Be nice if people would only comment on a product if they have personally used instead of I heard that its bad. People hang on to every word you say so try to give fact base advice. Im also a newbie but I spend atleast 6 hours a day researching and find most of peoples advice rarely backed up with personal experience.

Nutes

NOT ONLY IS MIRACAL GROW'S SOIL THATS GREAT THE NUTES ARE TOO.
For nutes I use Miracal Gro allpurpose (veg) an bloombooster for flowering.
I have used em forever an love em.
I start em off with 1/4 stength 3-4 weeks tell I know they can take more.
Ususaly every 4-5 days they need wateriing, every other water I feed em. Its strong shit, so read the directon, on the box or website.

Miracal grow has most micro nutes in it. But no listing for Calcium.. Heres the ingredience....

Nitrogen

Miracle-Gro contains 24 percent nitrogen. Nitrogen gives plants energy to grow and produce foliage. Too little can lead to stunted growth and pale green or yellow leaves.
Phosphate

The available phosphate is 8 percent. Phosphate is a phosphorous compound that helps plants resist stress, grow quickly, increase blooms and build strong roots. Too little phosphate will lead to red or purple leaves and decreased growth.
Potash

The soluble potash is 16 percent. Potash (potassium) helps with disease immunity, photosynthesis and increased fruit production. Too little can reduce plants' vigor, leaving them susceptible to disease and poor output.
Boron

Actual boron content is 0.02 percent. Boron is vital for producing sugar and carbohydrates in the plant, as well as seed and fruit development. Too little boron will cause small leaves and heart rot.
Copper

Actual copper content is 0.07 percent. Copper helps plants reproduce, build strong cell walls and reduce radicals. A deficiency will lead to stunted growth, bluish-green veins and poor tissue development.
Iron

The actual chelated iron is 0.15 percent. Iron helps in the formation of chlorophyll. If your plants have yellow leaves with green veins, they aren't receiving enough iron.
Manganese

The chelated actual manganese is 0.05 percent. Manganese helps plants breakdown carbohydrates and nitrogen. Too little manganese will lead to stunted growth and mottled yellow and white leaves.
Molybdenum

Actual molybdenum content is 0.0005 percent. Molybdenum helps in the breakdown of nitrogen.
Zinc

Actual zinc content is 0.06 percent. Zinc helps plants regulate their growth and sugar consumption. Too little zinc will lead to small, yellow leaves and low yields.
EDTA

The minimum amount of EDTA, a chelating agent, is 1.2 percent. Chelates are a chemical compound that play a vital role in oxygen transport and photosynthesis.

What is the dilution rate of Miracle-Gro Water Soluble All Purpose Plant Food?

Outdoor dilution rate: 1 tablespoon per gallon of water every 7 to 14 days.
Watering can singles: 1 packet per gallon of water every 7 to 14 days.

NOTE: with new scoop, 1 level scoop of large end equals 1.5 tablespoons for the typical 1.5 gallon watering can. Old scoop level scoop equaled 1 tablespoon.

Indoor dilution rate: 1/2 teaspoon per 2 quarts of water, or 1 teaspoon per gallon of water every 7 to 14 days (small end of scoop = 1/2 teaspoon).
Watering can singles: 1 packet to 2 gallons of water every 7 to 14 days.

Constant feeding method: 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of water, given at every watering.

Do NOT buy organic choice it has bugs in it..

"Adult flies can be a nuisance when present in high numbers but the damaging stage is the larvae that feed on plant roots. Fungus gnat larvae can do significant damage to young plants that don't yet have a developed root system. They are most often a problem in greenhouses and potted house plants."
http://www.livingwithbugs.com/fungus_gnat.html

I see alot of people who used MG soil got Fungus Gnats.
I hate gnats, but its not MG grows fault.

They are living on the shelfs at the store.
I got the bastards an went back to the store an investigated.
Dead gnats every where.

Before I buy soil now I look around under an between the bags, an If I see dead gnats I go elsewhere.
Stoped em 100% for me.

And I learned that 3 out of 4 stores in my area are plagued with gnats.
When i got em the sand on top of the soil did the trick

im just gonna get some MG to save myself all the time. seems like no body can seem to agree on MG being good or bad.......
for those of you out there using MG what kind do you use and did you mix anything into it to??

look at current flowering in sig.
also use MG perlite as the medium.

I've heard that you basically cut whatever time it says in half, so if it says it will feed for 6 months you can count on a solid 3 months of fertilizer, but I've never tried it. I know that fox farms doesn't stay hot that long.

It could probably get you through veg, but you might need to feed once or twice at the end.

you organic nuts spend 35 dollars a bag, and us cheap asses pay 5 . a bag I grew 2 plants. fox farm ocean forrest vs mg . same height yield taste. health , only thing ill advise. if you don't veg for at least 3 months. and flower for 10 weeks. you will not get the nuts out of the soil. so don't use mg. in that case, other then that my opinion soil is soil. just depends on how much perlite peat moss so on so on. if your only doing 1 or so plants, might as well buy the good shit. no added fertilizer, if your doing a commercial grow then you will defintly want to open your options save some cash. could spend thousands on soil a year,

I just finished my first grow in MG soil with time released nutes. Finished three plants. One I gave no extra nutes to until flowering the other two I fed throughout. The 2 that were fed had constant problems while the 1 that didn't get all the extra nutes finished the best. SOOO...if your going to use hot soil...be careful what you add to it. I'm not using MG soil on my current grow.

I use MG soil I mix it with viragrow and cow shit with some blood and bone meal , works great but drys out fast in the heat .. I've used MG soil for the past 3 years and don't plan to use anything else now .. I grow outdoors so I can't speak for how it performs indoors but its a great bang for the buck IMHO ! Hope this helps

If you have experience in growing you can grow with basically any products. The problem with these products is they are readily available and a newer grower with limited experience does not know what issues they are buying when they purchase these items. Personally I tell anyone here that wants to start is buy the correct supplies until you understand the process then by all means experiment. I see Dank bud all the time grown in MG...its not the products there is no magic, it the knowledge and how you apply it.

IMG_0116.JPG I can't speak for indoor grows, as I'm all outdoors. This plant was grown in MG potting mix along with a little horse manure and some garden soil mixed in. It was fertilized with MG for Tomatoes, at about 1/2 strength, only when needed. JonnyApple has it right and with some knowledge and experience under your belt, you can get everything you need at a Walmart and be very successful. Keep it simple, save your money, and have fun ! :bigjoint:
