TGA- Cheesequake

This plant was fucking beautiful! I had 3 females from a 5 pack, and two of the 3 stayed lush green from start to finish, but this one had a really nice fade with leaves turning maroon and yellow in the last 10 days. My pics are terrible with this camera phone, but this plant is some sticky-icky goodness!
Looks great! I popped two Cheesequake seeds a couple months ago, I ended up with one male and one female. Now that the female is fat and healthy I'm about to take clones from her and start my next grow as soon as I have time which will hopefully be this weekend.

Good friend of mine just got his card, he is starting with some Cheesequake. Great job stow! I would like to know more about that Bubblegum. I did the Nirvana Bubblelicious cuz Belle wanted it real bad. It surprised the shit out of me, how good it was. You went with Serious just cuz the Kali Mist is so damn good, eh? lmao. I went with The Doggies Nuts Bubblegum #1, just to try them out. It is grape bubblegum (so it says). I bought a single seed of serious seeds White Russian that I am gonna have Belle try out.
Can't go wrong with Serious Seeds! I still insist to this day, their AK-47 is the best plant I've ever grown.

Purple Marty Kush.

Who knows this might be the one I'm looking for.

It's Purple Marty x Purple Kush - Las Vegas Cut.

I started it in real low pH soilless; so it took a hit for the first two weeks.
pmk-veg10.jpgpmk-veg17.jpg

So anyway when I got some more medium and got it transplanted into the big pot as shown in second pic above,
I wasn't feeling real good about it.
Within days it took off, for this runt anyway, and now I'm kinda liking what I see.

pmk-veg30.jpgpmk-veg30s.jpg

Now how much the shortness is related to the bad medium and stress I can't say.
First seed of it I popped.

Purple Marty started like this: on a hope and a prayer and some damn good genetics to mix it up with.
The Purple Kush - Las Vegas Cut is my favorite pain killer meds, and is clone only and a bear to grow well.

So if I find a nice one in these beans I will be a happy camper.

D is for Diesel.
I got an SD. Not sure what the S stands for.
It smells like strawberry for some odd reason.

sd.jpg

I wish it was done.
I want to chop it up and burn it.
It's seedless.
I remember seedless...

Don't mind if you do.
It's nice when your medicine makes you feel better.
Just what the Dr. ordered man.

Where you at Rock where you at?

kr-00veg.jpgkr-01veg.jpg

I stuck it on ballast to warm the pot and today I got ignition.
I'm going to start a couple more soon as I got room with the numbers.

This one is scheduled to come down on November 15th.:bigjoint:
I really want to get this grow in before the Winter Solistice.
Just in case...

Can't wait to hear about your cheese smoke report, I'll have to check your grow journal... been wonderin' about that Kaliman. So I've heard a theory about seedling development where they do better in smaller pots at first. Something about the taproot hitting the bottom of pot first before it can really begin to kick out more fine roots. That's the gist, though I'd mention it. Nice work as always. Go Kid.

Yeah makes sense to me man.
Plants feel out their surroundings before going full bore it seems to me.

The Cheese is actually quite good.
I've been lazy on my Journal for a few weeks; but I got some photos to finish it up with.
My only complaint is yield.
For all that room it took up I wanted more!
But I seeded it pretty damn good.

I'll save you some beans if you want to try it.
I got the clone super-cropped and lollypopped ready for bloom.
So I will continue Journal with that to show how it goes sensi.

Replace it. Looks up at poast header.

After extensive research on testing High Pressure Sodium Ballasts and associated parts, (mostly 1000 watt model by Advance),
I have decided that testing 1000 watt HID Ignitors is fucked.

High Pressure Sodium Lamp Ballast Ignitors

Ignitors are used as a starting aid with all high pressure sodium and certain low-wattage metal halide lamps.

Measurement of the starting pulse voltage of an ignitor is beyond the capability of most instruments available in the field.
In laboratory tests, an oscilloscope is used to measure pulse height and width.

In the field, some simple tests may be performed to determine if the ignitor is operable:

1. Replace the ignitor with another ignitor which is known to be operable. If the lamp then starts,
the previous ignitor was either miswired or inoperative.

2. Remove the High Pressure Sodium lamp and replace it with a known operable HPS lamp of
proper wattage. If lamp lights, ignitor is operating properly.

3. If lamp does not light, disconnect ignitor and proceed as follows:

A. 35W to 15OW (55V) HPS
Insert 120 V incandescent lamp in socket. If lamp lights, ignitor requires replacement.
If test lamp fails to light, refer to TROUBLESHOOTING FLOW CHART A on page 50.

B. 15OW (1OOV) to 400W HPS
Install mercury lamp of comparable wattage. If mercury lamp starts— ignitor requires
replacement.
If test lamp fails to light, refer to TROUBLESHOOTING FLOW CHART A on page 50.

C. 1000 W
Replace ignitor.

NOTE: Ignitors are not interchangeable. Refer to ballast label for designation of proper ignitor to
be used with ballast.
$30 to $35 for a 'test' Ignitor or $105 for replacement guts including new ballast and capacitor(s)?

That's dirty pool man.

Hey this thing is cool man.

I added my delay on make timers, and it works real good so far.

tcpc-07.jpg

First image shows a timer in lower left corner of FS Box.
That timer delays the HID contactor to it's right 7.5 minutes after power is connected/reconnected.
Smaller contactor for temperature controlled side lighting outlets is at top left.
110 VAC to 24 VAC transformer is at top right.

tcpc-08.jpg

Second image is unit installed for testing.
Gen Hydro sticker is on cover of FS Box holding contactors.

I'm thinking of doing a little tweaking on the "A" Outlets to seperate them from the HID 7.5 minute delay and contactor.
I would like for my fans on that side to come on well before HID sparks up because I have the side lighting to think of.

I was sorta trying to make a diagram/picture of what I'm doing here;
but I don't think I'm done and got really high last night when I was assembling the drawing:

tcpc-09.jpg

So I might downsize my HID contactor to a 30 or 40 amp Dual Pole model like the "B" contactor
and then add another with a delay on make timer for the fan circuit.

I'll poast more when I do more on this project.

One thing that is disturbing is the spikes I get when the contactors pull out all at once are not compatable with my digital timers.
So I had to go back to trusty rusty analog timer for the 110 VAC trigger signal.
I will see if I can figure out how to eliminate that digital timer problem whenever I get back into it.
It may be as simple as a Delay on Break timer and/or a surge protector.
I don't know yet.

Okay I finished the picture showing how to wire it all up.

tcpc-09.jpg

I used 14 gauge three wire plugs cut from a couple cheap power strips for the "A" and "B" input power cords.
Those are good for 15 amps.
The contactors are all 30 0r 40 Amp Dual Pole Definate Purpose Contactors with 24 VAC coils.
These are very common for heat pumps and other ac/heating equipment.

Shout out to gladstoned (if someone wants to fill me in on what rep is and how you give it I'd do it up for this guy) for these seeds. Not to put my cart out there in front of my horse but I really hope to give you a big bag of this stuff in oh what 5 or 6 months when it hits my drying tent. Clutch on the TGA seeds in not time flat delivere3d from the fucking UP no less dude. These are some shots for the journal I'm going to start on them, 7 for 7 germ so here we got with 100% sucess so far and 100% confidence moving forward.

9-1-12a.jpgDay 1, soaked towels in a sealed bag. Probably unnecessary but I am as much a man of meticulous repetitious as I am scientific methodologyay 1, soaked towels in a sealed bag. probably unnecessary but I am as much a man of meticilous repetitious as I am scientific methodology
9-2-12a.jpgDay 2, lid off and all 7 have sprouted. They are on a heat mat in a seed starter tray in rapid rooter plugs with a little standing RO water. When I see a tap root out the bottom or side they will got in the little pots.
9-2-12b.jpg9-2-12i.jpg9-2-12t.jpgAcid plants about 4 weeks into flowering. Still under the MH so the pics have decent color until they move again.

Can't wait for journal bro.

Those seeds were a gift from Sea of Seeds. I almost had a problem with an order, but they more that made things right, cuz they want to be the best.
Because they were so generous, I place many orders with them. So that I don't look like asshole trying to scam beans, I purposely gave them away publicly cuz they did the right thing.
I am much more concerned with companies that I can deal with long term and trust. That is more important than free pack of beans.
So it was nice, but I am not saint either. lmao.
I hope you rock these brother. My medical condition is spinal stenosis and when pain hits me, I am in a world of shit. Qrazy Train was recommended for severe pain relieve. I hope you find a great medicinal momma. There is a lot of pain in the world. lol.

Public Service Announcement:
"Purple Elephant Stomper" is now "The Purple Gang"

Hazeman was not keen on Purple Elphant part because it is the name of one of the purples in the strain.
I was using the 'Purple' from PT-13 for it's Purple coloring, and the 'Elephant' from Purple Elephant, and missed that confusion.
oops.

I didn't think Hazeman would like my new name choice, (we had been trying to brainstorm a name the other day).
But he does so that's the one.

In other news Glad is having fun and getting you guys all set for the Grow On:
Thank You so much for the efforts Belle and Glad.
We will all appreciate it I'm sure.

hey stump, most of the pics are from the MH but only because they look better to the camera I still got a 1K MH side by side with a 1K HPS. I see already this will be one of the best harvests I have ever had. Guess that could be the extra 1K of total watts but I think the light spectrum is also helping alot. the acid I'm going to harvest soon is the fattest frostiest I have ever done I'm sure of it. I may get labs on this one I feel comfortable submiting a sample of this.
