Let's talk about Chemdog...

Just to clear it up again, in case I didn't come off clear enough in my original post. The 413 Chem and the chem 91 has been exhibiting this problem since about 2 weeks after rooting, once transplanted from the solo cups to the 1 gals, after a few heavy feeding of seaweed juice and recharge (high K) nutrients, they have been exhibiting this problem ever since. Only improving for short periods with foliar feeds of calmag/EJ sea blast grow. So definitely not root bound since it has been going on right after transplant to 5 gal, before transplant to 5 gal, etc...

It started after the heavier K, low N, Low P feedings. It is well known that high doses of K early on in the plants life, will lockout P, which will lockout cal/mag. I just wasn't thinking... Ugh, a note for me to remember next time!
Psychedelic.... You just described exactly what my girls have been showing, and I too have been adding liquid kelp. So, I took them out in the back yard and flushed them heavily yesterday. Lots of sun here, and the afternoons are warm enough, plus I don't have but four girls and a tiny tent.

They seem better today. Think I'll lay off the kelp too.

Also what day flower are those in? Looks to be about week 2 going into 3?
dead on. like day 15 ish i think. i was running blumats in coco perlite. now im just top drip multiple times a day dtw. nutrients are jacks hydro/cal nitrate. i hit them weekly with calcium EDTA and epsom, sometimes a little kelp mix in there too. give them a weekly dose of soil balance pro, a tiny bit of kelp and molasses brewed overnight

For the first year I managed a rabbitry(sic?) and used their turds exclusively. It remains the very best ends I've accomplished.
I raised a hundred chickens one year and composted their poop for another year and that matched my ends but with a bunch more fuss, way too much fuss, nasty dust etc.
Research found a packaged Botanicare chicken shit organically certified with calcium called Organicare, 80 bucks=50lbs delivered.
I couldnt continue to compost chicken shit, handling raw bunny poop with patient meds didnt sit well with me, so I bin using the bagged poop for many years and super happy. Pennies per feeding, no fuss, perfect measure, no waste. kudos Botanicare..
I wish I could keep rabbits, we were getting the city to dump mounds of wood shavings on our next door vacant lot til the s.o.b. across the street complained to the city zoning board. There were composting really nice too, with steam rising off them

I had found 5 baby cotton tail rabbits a few years ago while bush hogging. It was very common to run across these little nests in the ground.

I took them home and nursed them with goats milk. Low and behold, I raised them to healthy beautiful adults. Let me tell you, those rabbit manure balls made for some amazing fertilizer. It was almost like they were time released little balls of amazing goodness. I put them in the ground with my tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, peppers and my ganja too, of course ;)...

Some of the best if not the best organic manure you can use and a little goes a long way. They seemed to produce the manure quiet often too. Now that its brought up, I'm gonna have to find me some more of those those this year.

I would rather have the wild cotton tails over the pet bred rabbits. They are very beautiful and made excellent pets!

Yeah rabbit manure is the shit. Best, balanced npk of most farm animal manure and it won't burn. I've been thinking of making a decent base mix, add minerals and for amendments only rabbit manure and kelp and maybe some comfrey.

If I good get a good source of rabbit manure it would really tempt me to go organic.

I looked on Craigslist for people selling bunny's, usually they have a few breeders so they always have lots of shit. I also bought one but he's pretty small and humps my cat when I let him run around the house.
Got a lot of animals to take care of now, plus i'm in town with shitty neighbors. on a side note I just lost one of my dogs and i'm running around looking for it.

Damn that sucks. Idk if it actually works but if you have an idea of where the dog is or might end up you can leave some of your clothes there and come back the next day. I guess they smell your scent on the clothes and kinda just chill right by them.

Yeh, I'm watching a friends house and went over there with my dogs, one was a dog that rarely gets out. I turned my back for a minute and she took off. I left a blanket there in case she shows back up.

Hey man this may be an old thread but I've got chems as well and the same shit going on. Did you ever come to a consensus as to their preferences for feeding etc?

Not sure on the outcrosses but I have original 91 cutting and she like less light and doesn't need a ton of nutes in my experience but i'm also in organic. Watch for nanners towards end of cycle, usually sterile. Potent, knock out shit.

Not sure of the parental lineage of these seeds. Only know it's an indica chem Dog from "next harvest" and tests high, won some cups n shit. Just hoping I can do them justice, I know they're full of potential. What I've noticed thus far is they want high micros, high .ca mg, high P, low K, med high N. And they're liking the light about .25-.5 power set at about 18". So about 300 watts of cob led over them, can run up to 480. I'm guessing their needs will change dramatically at flower and would like to try and avoid the guesswork etc. Im in amended living organic soil, same as ive done yrs before but obviously these girls don't like the same shit everyone else has. Picky bitches. Lol. Foliar spray tests have shown me what makes them happy and where my soil is lacking. So I've been giving teas to supplement their needs. Cant give them any K right now though or they start to show a tox from it. So my Earthjuice 2-1-1 is a no go. Has done great for other crops, but not this one. Have had to custom make my teas with N, P, .ca, Mg, and a dose of micros. Took a couple extra weeks of BS to make them happy. They're happy now and growing like mad, I just don't want them to damp off when I send them into flower while i do more trial and error figuring there needs out. I've struggled with these girls more than any other plants in the last 4 yrs of my growing. They're one of my favs and I enjoy a challenge, but I'd sure like to have the rest of the grow go smooth.

You are focusing on me and You don't even know how to grow. Keep your energy in this place and learn to grow without soo many deficiencies. Trying to joing the bandwagon when You need to focus on your Plants.!!!!!

I've got a chemdawg 39 days into flower that I vegged for nearly 2 months in Dwc! She's a monster. Topped her once and supercropped her about 5 times. She was about 5 foot tall before initiating 12/12. Much to some people's horror i use advanced nutrients ph perfect haha. And gave her nothing but veg nutes through growth (around 800 - 900ppm) shes currently under a big scrog net beside a Ww x bb and a lemon og kush. I'm running about 1200ppm of bloom nutes with AN big bud atm. I'm also dosing about 1250ppm of co2 in a pretty well sealed room. She loves it. Have had no issues so far. the ww x bb had a slight mag deficiency (have been told its common with this strain as the calcium locks out the magnesium if using hard tap water?) And the lemon og kush seems to require less nitrogen in flower.... the ww x bb has the biggest nugs but less of them where as the chemdawg seems to have LOTS of medium sized nugs atm. They say chemdawg is a hard strain to grow but for me it has been the easiest of the 3! One thing I have been warned about the chemdawg is to keep humidity lower towards the end of flowering as its susceptible to bud rot!? Probably the only thing I have noticed is she can't quite handle the light intensity/heat like the other 2 strains can. Not sure if your using RO water but have been told if using tap water thats too hard then this can cause cal mag lockout? Maybe one of the more experienced members would know more about that side of things? Hope this helped somewhat??
