RC: Interesting. I just use Humboldt's Grow/Micro/Bloom on a moderate feeding schedule (8 weeks long) and use all the products listed there as their additives.

While we don't have Humboldt's lines of nutrients here in OZ, I've seen some awesome grows (including yours) using their base nutes.
Did you find that the un-topped plants had a tighter inter-nodal spacing than the topped?

I bet you could order them on the net and have them shipped, but I'd hate to see what customs thinks when they get to Au. :) The topped plants did have tighter spacing than the untopped plants. Their height was about 6-8" lower than the others at harvest time. Their top colas were more of a continual cola, whereas the untopped had spacing after the first few nugs of cola. I suspect the topped plants were shorter in height because of removing a few nodes of growth, and the outer nodes then having to catch up. I wouldnt confuse it with plant stress, just hormone redirection and the side shoots needing to grow whereas the untopped plants just kept shooting straight up the entire duration.

i love the multi colored buckets and your exhaust system and your whole set up!
looks real pro! sorry for bringing up an old thread, just showing its greatness once again for everyone who didn't see it the first time around.
how much did the harvest turn out to be?

Thanks morfin............... =) The room is now up to 6000 watts but not full of plants, the veg room will be ready to feed the flower room to 80% capacity next weekend, and it'll be full two weeks after that. Should be a nice photo update. :)

The first harvest I cant remember how many grams it was, each plant was about 4 ounces and it was probably 1700g-1800g or so. Didnt grow much this summer, its been too hot and humid to want to do anything. Winter's coming up and that's free room a/c, no snow here for another few months thankfully though :)

When they are vegging how many times do you flood and drain per day? Same Question for Flowering? Do you only feed when the lights are on? I have heard mixed reviews.

Dave
Vegging is done in a bucket system too, 1 gallon buckets. I transfer them to the 2.5 gallon buckets when they begin flowering. Vegging is water once a day, flower is water once a day too until week 5, then I water them twice a day till they are done. Foliar spray them once a day before night until they are two weeks old in flower too. Water them when lights come on, and a second watering if needed is done about 6 hours into the 12 hour cycle. Watering at night provides no benefits to the plant, so you can safely skip that. :)

I know what you mean though bluntman, some folks flood their buckets once an hour for fifteen minutes - My plants have never liked that, they'll just go droopy if I overwater them so much. Once to twice a day is plenty.

Thanks for the Great info kitty. I ahve gotten the same results when I overwater, its weird doing an ebb and flow (feeding once or twice a day) at the same time you have an areoponic system that sprays the roots every 5 mins for 1 min and the plants are doing fine,,,,, Its almost contradictory...... But hey I will try anything once just to see how it goes. So you were getting 4oz per plant? Thats amazing is that pretty rare? I always thought 1-2oz per plant dried was great but 4 is spectacular.... Any secrets to pump up the yield, trade secrets if you will? What strains do the best, I have 5 patients right now and am looking to maximize the yield so I can keep them stocked up.

Thanks Bluntman

4oz per plant was from the first grow with an ebb & flow. Its nothing more than a PERFECT growing environment. No CO2 either yet............ Keep temps perfect, use good nutrients, and just let the plant grow!

That is an absolutely astonishing harvest! I wish I could yield as much as that! Big props to you!

Kitty, how are your feedings? Ive never actually seen one used for ebb and flow. Are your roots submerged or how much is the roots in the nutrients. So when you feed it, does it submerge the roots for about 30 secs or so or does it just stays in the bucket at a certain point when feeding...and also how many times a day do you submerge it if you do submerge.
