Jury Duty...

If it was that easy they would never seat a jury.......In Cali they would just send you back to the jury room to way for another trial....a civil trial without police......they can last for weeks.....lol!
not sure if other counties do this... but here they will issue warrants on FTA for jury duty.. any time you do not get selected you are automatically pooled back into the system to have appear again within about 4 months..

the pay is great too.. damn looking forward to my jury check.. might be able to get me a pack of cheap rolling papers ..

They were issuing FTA's when I was at jury duty 2 weeks ago.....in Sacramento there's a great sandwich place just 2 blocks from the court house "Buds Buffett", best pastrami sandwich in town.......good luck....

Yea idk just know it took 6 hrs to even talk to the opposing sides and i was asked " if i held a police officers word in higher regard than a normal citizen?" i responded with "No i dont trust police at all and have had friends mistreated by law enforcement " about 30 min later i was leaving the court house but like i said took me 6hr till i even get to that point and it was for a breaking and entering in Indiana ( used to live there)

in Cali your jury obligation is 1 week. If you don't get picked for first jury, you sit & wait until next jury, and so on for 1 week. There are a lot of jury trials that don't involve police. If you get selected for a jury, you are done for a couple of years.......my jury duty trial lasted 3 days..........I'm done for a long time.....

I just walk in with 1 of 2 shirts on, an old teardrop collared, mother of pearl snaps, plaid shirt ( circa 1970 ) or a slightly stained up uniform shirt ( it says Monsters of Rock 1984 Security. yea, I was there ). I have done jury duty several times before 2000, I have been summoned 5-6 more times since then, but have not been picked, could it be the clothes?.....hhmmmmmm batting 1000 so far, for over 13 years :P

Peace

PS: All the jury duty I have been selected for was petty bullshit and honestly wasn't worth the hassle.

Look at it this way, you could have the opportunity to get some poor schmuck off, that's just being railroaded by the system.....(see Zimmerman, Casey Anthony, OJ, ect...)

i've been a registered voter for 12 years and i've never been called for jury duty. i have a friend my age who got called 3 times already. i wouldn't even try to get out of it. i'm curious about what it's like to go through the process. i look at it as time off of work. plus all those sweet dolla dolla bills when i get compensated.

LOL...I just got my big fat jury duty check today!..........3days.....$34........maybe it's worth more in bit coins!.....

WOW!! Now we all know how you get them big ass plants dude.. and how you retired at your age.. and how you afford them canon lenses..

I am soooo bummed after seeing this check.. all the Juror's were excused last night... had to call in to see if I had to show.. all my visions of moving off to some tropical isle will have to be postponed till I get that check...

34.08 for a 3 day event.. ugh.. I would have even taken one day pay at that rate.. least I could have afforded that new pack of papers I wanted. my luck has been depleted.

Wow they upped the pay too! My hub just got a summons. I never get summoned. Of course, I never register to vote either, coincidence?

My hub LOVES jury duty but if he can ever get past cause they'll use a pre-emptory to get him. I told him that, he knows that and he keeps hoping. Sadly where he works they confiscate your big Jury Duty check :) so we can't get rich.

its weird, my entire family, sisters, father and mother have all been called in for jury duty at least once in their life, my one sis is 29, my other sis is 22, i am 26, never have been called or summoned ONCE about jury duty but my whole family has, i always thought this was weird, i thought maybe because me and my father have the same name that might have something to do with it and i somehow maybe 'slipped through the cracks''
