:shock::o. :spew:

Went over to s friends house to use a scale to prepare for the next one. 6 dried grams is a massive pile of fungus. The mere notion of consuming all that material seems like pure madness. By the time I took it off the scale I was shaking visibly. I'm committed to finding my way through it but wow... gut check time. :shock:

6g I've eaten waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more then 6g cubensis.

Once you dose 10g plus range, it is like tripping on DMT for 4 hours. I've taken almost an ounce and avg about 14g have taken 140g fresh, and that is a very nasty pile of fungi.

The problem is that these gems are not consistant in potency. Has anyone any information on the variations in potency depending on the flush?
Which Flush doesn't effect potency.If it is multi spore the potency from shroom to shroom will vary, if it is a clone it will all be the same.

Ph, I have found that they vary from flush to flush, now that could actually be a temperature variation between flushes but I don't think so.

Unless you have a way of testing alkaloid levels, you dont really know if that variation was you, or the shroom. Are you growing with cloned tissue or starting with spores? If you start out with multi-spore, you will see variation in potency because you have geneticly different shrooms on one sub.

If you are using a clone, there should be no variation regaurdless of flush.

I have seen variation in mushroom shape, and simple things like that can affect your trip. A good example would be portabellas. They are 3rd and 4th flush button mushrooms. I've noticed mushrooms get bigger in later flushes but a shroom isn't going to change it's chemistry as it ages. In fact as the substrate becomes depleted of nutrients, if any thing they should lose potency being that certain amino acids are required precursors for the alkaloids.

PH, I do sector isolation and then clone. You are correct, what I report is only anecdotal - weight changes, owing to thinner stem walls can have an effect on one's perceived dosage if one goes only by length of stem or "heft" when one doses. Frankly I quit weighing my doses a long long time ago. Now what you are saying about potency later in the life of the substrate may account for my feeling that later flushes aren't quite as potent.

Yeah, I read through and checked them out. Looks great. How hard were they to grow? I would love to start growing mushrooms.

Really easy. I'll be trying the choempi's bulk tek next time around. Id be happy to get together and do it at your place. Spores are legal and easy to get.

Let me know if you'd like to.
