It does look very neat man, I love the effort you spend on a research before doing stuff and making it real afterwards ;)

One thing to note though. I was doing tests with upcanning. When flipping mature plant and upcanning, on the harvest day I noticed that rootball did not grew much bigger since the flip, that's cause plant goes into flowering phase. Now if you are doing 12/12 from seed, plant still needs to get to mature lvl before it will start flowering so the roots will be growing out, I just wonder when the plant will stop growing them and start concentrating on stretch and flowers, and I'm really interested to see what rootball you will at the harvest day.
so ueah, pulling up the chair :)
Thank you =) I really love this stuff.

On the matter of roots... I agree with you. But that's exactly why I chose my smallest air pots for this. 1L each. So I'd hope they are able to throw out enough roots to get the system really compact in there. Roots do grow a bit in flower, it's just not as explosive as in veg.
Anyway this is a test-drive grow for this system, only in the end can I confirm or disprove my inicial theories =P So, grow up little ones, let's get this show on the road.

The next grow is off to a great start.

I hope that this year is good to you Jad.

BTW: What sort of flavor did the PTW have?

Good luck,

JD

Thank you JD!

The PTW has this weird pungent smell to it. It smells a tad sweet, almost like grapes and then it has this earthy almost acid tone to it.
The flavour goes very much along those lines too. It tastes very hashy, with those grapey accents coming through.

Quite a delightful smoke. :bigjoint:

Little photo update

The little ones are growing nicely. The 12 hour light growth is a tad slower than the 18 hour growth, but so far it looks pretty good. They are now nearing 2 weeks old.
They seem to be enjoying the system, and while I was cleaning the res's the other day I found a few long roots on all the airpots' bottoms, so I guess that by the end I'll have swimming roots all over these reservoirs =P

081.jpg

Right now the pump is bubbling the water every half hour for half hour. so half-hour on, half hour off. What do you think about this? I just thought it might be exaggerated to keep the pump on at all times... Open for tips and pointers.

Also I just bought my first vaporiser ever and I LOVE IT. It's a portable vape, the Flowermate V5.0s.

Very clean high, and lessens the smoke toxicity feeling. A small nug that would make for half a joint makes for a very substancial tripping high. So I guess in the long run I'll be saving a bit of bud... Hurray I guess! haha
The vaping makes for a refined sensation of taste all around and I'm finally able to KNOW what my weed TASTES like without the burned smoke pollution. Quite wonderful tasting buds I made xD if I can say so myself... =P
It's a bit less lasting though, I found. Or at least I feel normal faster. I guess the Get-Sober curve is just steeper than when burned.
Also, I'm saving the vaped left-overs, I read that you can cook with the left over stuff and still get edibles that work okay. So I'll be testing that soon xD

On a final note, I've been feeling kinda down. Don't know exactly why, but I was fearing it might be from the smoking.
Been very introspective, looking for meaning, purpose and finding true passions in life. Tough stuff. I recently turned 24.
I guess it's part of the 20's mindframe...
Any thoughts?

Anyway, thanks for stopping by!

Jad, you are wise to take time for introspection.

Life is what matters. More than smoke. Do what makes you happy.

...but nothing too fast, unless nothing else will do. ;0)

The truth is that the urge to "do something" is strong throughout life,
but it is quite strong at your age. I would add the Hitchhiker's Guide's

Have a great weekend.

24! Fuck, beyond twice that....just destroy some pussy! :0)

I'm only a couple years olders than you and am still in school Jad3,my friend. I totally understand what you mean, as I have been on a very roundabout path so far in life. I am still lost on most days, but I find that I am okay with that.

For example, It's like I hae always wanted to be a social butterfly, but whenever the opportunity presents itself, or I am forced into a situation where I must be social, I find I don't enjoy it. My realizing that I don't enjoy it is okay though, because it helps me to realize I am my own person.

I love MJ, and while that's not acceptable to the majority of the people I love, it doesn't matter because they are not me. You and only you can live your life, and if something doesn't make you happy or feel fulfilled, then it isnt neccesary for me to have it in my life.

To echo Javadog I will quote one I always fall back on from Dory in Finding NEmo "just keep swimming, just keep swimming."
Have a good weekend homie

Couple weeks ago I started climbing into my fourties and I'm pretty sure I'll still be banging my head looking for answer when I'll be 50. You're always one day asking what I'm I doing, where am I going and another day hooking onto something and running for it with impulsive exploding passion.
ups and downs baby.
Also whenever I'm stuck I plan a sunny afternoon and educate myself with an outstanding trip into myself, nature and universe with a harvest of:

Friends from abroad keep coming to visit me for that only haha.

You hooked me onto this flowermate man, so far I've seen only people saying don't buy anything bellow 250euro, now I see you enjoying it with a 100euro piece and I started looking where to get it :)

Thank you for your wise words JD. I understand, and I try to keep reminding myself that I just gotta let things flow. But sometimes I get really caught up in my inner world and then I start my paranoid monologues. haha
But yeah, you're right.

Don't worry, be happy. Keep on trucking, and destroy some pussy. haha =D cheers!

You're very right. I doubt myself sometimes exactly because of that. What others think, and how others lead and have lead their lives in the past.
I'm my own person, I have my own likes and dislikes. I have my talents and natural capabilities, and I have my drawbacks and weaknesses.

I guess I'm just going through my discovery phase. And if I'm honest about it, I've been in this phase for far too much time.

I'll just keep swiming... Just keep swiming. =)

That's exactly it. Sometimes I'm just running and fighting through thick and thin to get the stuff I want. Makes you feel alive. And then sometimes I just wonder whats next...
And such is life. I guess the real secret is to be truthful to yourself and accept the things you love and are passionate about, and just explore them until you're successful at it. I've been living a life that's mostly fueled by what my parents wanted for me, or what they saw as fit. Thing is, 24 years in the making, I now look back and know that if I had, for instance, made other decisions in my education, I'd be in a completely different place. Anyway, life has brought me here, and it's been awesome. But I guess now it's time for me to take a bit more control, and give my life a little bit more of meaning for myself.

Also, I've never tried mushrooms! Can you believe it? haha

I'm dead curious though. That and LSD maybe.
Maybe I'll try growing some shrooms as well =P

Well for everyone it's different, but for me the real secret is not success in something, but more in exploring everything world is giving to us. Happy self confident pro-at-something lifestyle sure is fun, but pain, uncertainty, fear, loss, panic are not that much desired things, but damn it's important to go through them as well.
Mushrooms.. oh man.. Ofc you see all this beauty(not imaginary, but more like details you never noticed before) but that also removes all the ego from you, society barriers, physic laws and you become this little happy child not limited by any walls you built up through years and you explore, music, nature, senses in general. The nicest part about it is that you get to keep the experience. I believe that everybody should try it at least once in a lifetime.

Good point vitamin_green_inc about spores, I downloaded a pdf file of how to make the grow kit and inject those spores. The only tough part about growing them is keeping from mold. Man everything has to be sterile haha..

Yeah man, they really stress that, but I have done it twice now, and am about halfway through the second times growing of the mycelium in the jars. i have yet to see any contamination and really I just make sure to keep the area they are in above 72 and they grow well, and I make sure to clean the area i am placing them in and the area I am inoculating in

@Jad3 shrooms are the best, but there truly is a difference in quality between homegrown and bought off someone. @simisimis exolained it really well, I would just add that I know several people who don't really smoke, or smoke only occasionally and I have gotten them to trip with me. They loved the experience and often tell me they would do this all the time if they could.

Lol, my girl was one of these people and she told me she would have a supply growing for the rest of her life. She said "it's so easy and compact and discreet. It feels amazing, and there's nothing really bad about it, I will always have some of these."

Everyone goes through it man. I probably do about once a year or so. Get overwhelmed with where I think I should be instead of looking back on where I came from. Personally I've gone through some shit and just to be where I am today is a huge accomplishment (I'm 27 BTW). But I forget and then I get down and say I want to be here or I want to be doing this or should, etc.

It helps to take a deep breath and think or write down all of the things you are grateful for. Even if it is just a list of 20. It helps to remember what you do have. Not sure if the is the boat you are rowing but just remember it has taken your entire life to get to this moment you are exactly where you are supposed to be.

On the bright side your plants are looking great man!

And thank all of you. Thank you for all the kind words of wisdom.

Ok people.. all this talk about shrooms made me curious so I read up on them and ordered a kit and some spores. I know.. don't buy the kit but for me I think the kit with instructions will make the difference for success since I've never grown or tried a shroom before.

oh man... If I could get back to my first time! There is this saying very popular these days - everything's invented already. During the trip I've realised that it's so so far from being true :D
Enjoy it!

I have learned that you can never get back to the first time on anything... your first joint... kiss... nooky... These are things that only exist in my mind now and in my mind nothing could ever compare or be better. I am one of the oldsters here... mid 60's and counting. I did do a lot of lsd back in the 60's but never tried the shrooms.

Oh, and although I have enjoyed eating the canna coconut butter I was thinking of using it as a lotion and smear it around in different places instead. What do you think?

Topical absorbtion is usually achieved with an unguent or a tincture. I guess you could try with the coconut butter and tell us if it worked or not!

And yes, I'm getting more and more inclined to order a kit myself haha

One week later - Update

I had visitors over for a few days. So I filled up the reservoirs, foliar sprayed the plants, crossed my fingers and hoped for the best.
Well, this is what was waiting for me this morning!
082.jpg

Quite different from my last photo-update! haha I was so friggin'happy!
I guess the system works... haha

Anyway I bought a nice 4-way air splitter and that way I got the bubble count to be about the same throughout the different reservoirs. The middle one already has a few long and spiky roots rolling around in the water res. Love it.

My nutes are going down. I'm thinking of placing a new order. Been looking at Advanced Nutrients, Sensi Bloom A+B, Voodoo Juice, B-52, Overdrive and Sensizym. What do you guys think of this combination?
I've been studying it a bit and supposedly that pack would make for a lot more yield, heaviness and health. Any personal experience or recommendation?

Here's to hoping that by next week they keep growing at this lovely pace!

Have a great weekend buds!
