I agree with you. But, it is what we have to work with until 2012 when we have an opportunity to remove Stabenow.

we need to start getting with the UP on this stuff, they are much more tuned into what "we" do in the north rather than the people from Cadillac south.

We really do need a group before our oppurtunity is lost. I see potential but no direction.

Had a high idea... what if we all invested in 1 county and turned it into MI's Humbolt?. A safe haven for building.

I was thinking on a national level to decriminalize mj. But perhaps on a state level maybe something could be done. Yes direction. First we need a large group of people who would back us. This forum is a good place to find those people.

So I received a email from my representative Mike Rogers replying to a email I sent in favor of Barney Frank's bill

Thank you for contacting me regarding your support for the legalization of marijuana. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this issue with me.

*************As you may know, the Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults Act, (H.R. 2943) was introduced by Representative Barney Frank on May 18, 2009. This legislation would eliminate most Federal penalties for possession of marijuana for personal use. The bill has been referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary as well as the House Committee on Energy Commerce, on which I serve.

*************Although I can appreciate your arguments, this is an issue on which we disagree. As a former FBI Special Agent, I have witnessed first hand the dangerous effects of drug use, especially among our young people. Furthermore, drugs coming across our borders from countries like Mexico and Columbia fuel criminal, and potentially terrorist, activities. Our federal drug laws play an important role in the safety and security of the American people, and I believe that the legalization of marijuana would be a step backward.
*
*************Again, thank you for your correspondence. Although we may not agree on this issue, I am sure there are many more that we do agree upon. If you have further questions or concerns about this or any other issue, please do not hesitate to contact my office.

I then responded with the subjects of driving the it deeper into the black market and allowing the flow of imported marijuana instead of allowing it to be kept in house within the borders of Tyne country. I will be interested to see if I receive another response.

Maybe we could create a special intrust group and hire a lobbyist.
That Interest group you refer to is called MPP.org There you can donate one lousy bags worth of money to actually do something instead of complaining or worse yet a 6 month lockdown for your first offense that will cost more then a donation! Nothing personal just using your idea to enlighten you and others.

You can't put cannabis and hemp in the same boat as coke, and meth. If everyone was growing then you would'nt have illegal trafficking. You could go out side and pick it. they don't want it legal because they cant pocket the cash.

Well for one thing his interest is Energy as that is his "gig" so maybe a Hemp lesson on Fuel? Instead of the corn subsidies and the raising of the cost of an ear of corn to the consumer because they are making fuel from it. I liked the retort of what I think you were saying; that as it stands now, the ones benefiting from the prohibition are the same people who benefited from alcohol prohibition such as Al Capone, Robert Kennedy and of course the Canadian Government to mention a few BIG names; as they sling bags of it into the USA with no Tariff or tax being paid, as the deal is done in the shadows instead of a liquor or cannabis store. Missing out on sales tax etc Or the fact that locking someone up for possession of a small amount of Cannabis not only costs taxpayers 60K a year to house, those same people are now destined to NOT get back into society as that person now has a Drug charge or criminal record. Forcing that person to remain on a different path of Welfare or other Govt costs which by the way the money is from the People of the nation not the Government's I also send three videos with my letters.

Cali I did respond with a lesson in industrial hemp and other contradictions within his email. I know it won't get anywhere but maybe one day the people who he represents particurlaly the people he represents that passed his own states medical marijuana laws will finally get through to him and others but democracy is a slow proccess especially when at the highest levels it's all about doing favors for the other side of the isle and not what the people want.

The real deal is Most Pot smokers are really pacifists and avoid confrontation. We like to party and get along, (most of us) The Feds attack us for that reason. They are scared men and woman doing a dangerous job so they take the path of least resistance. By having us being treated as witches and doing dubious illegal activity's they have created mistrust and hate for anyone in uniform. I know I would not piss on a cop if they were on fire. Because they push their hypocrite ways as they drink and drive and park where they want to, Let some off and arrest others. I wish I could see the day of another Civil war to clean this place up.

I hope it doesn't get to that point but rather a realization that being hard headed and contributing to the inability to compromise is the reason that the country is on the path it is. I don't assume that every cop is out there to get me, I know if I give them a chance to see into this part of my life they will, so I don't. I just try to treat them and everyone the way I would want to be treated and I would say that is the key to not raise flags. Our stereotypes of the modern day stoner aren't just total fabrication there are plenty of people out there that smoke but are not considerate enough to realize that they're actions will reflect poorly on other smokers that don't act that way and cause the same sort of problems. It's a illusion of entitlement I believe. People feel that they are above the system when really they mean nothing in the view of things except for helping rectify a stereotype because they can't act like mature adults. So we need to help fight the stereotype that has been pushed on us. It may take a long time but maybe eventually marijuana will be truly seen for the wonderful things it can do and not the immature 18 year old down the street. It's about a greater goal not just one persons personal pleasure although if done right there can be a perfect balance.

Edit: damn iPad spellcheck apologies

I will be on the front lines in either case.... I am with the civil war idea personally, alot less bullshit to deal with.

We do need a powerfull voice immediatley. If we are to hold. They are already ready to push and yet we still have not found our footing.

It is hard to start a group when you do not understand your own authority....
