Hi Irish Boy,
Just letting you know that I received my 300 LED for Christmas from Mike @ growledhydro. Seems like a great guy and gave me a decent discount on the light. Unfortunately he was out of the 300 off lights..... but still gave me a good price. Will buy again from Mike and wow... what a light! Surprised me with how quick it got here and very thankful with his concern for my family.
I'm still trying to get all equipment together and soil like you have in the beginning post.
Your plants are looking great and most likely I'll be starting with clones in my GL 120. (4 plants best in there?).
Hope you don't mind giving me direction as I'm reading but don't know if all info is pertinent with LED growing.
- Peace

First off thanks for all the info over the years, I usually follow on another site but wanted to reply here because this is where I first began and since this is my first post I think it is fitting. I ordered the 180 watt unit near the end of your 600 watt grow and all I can say is this light is great! I grew out one white berry from seed in a 5 gallon smart pot with 4 weeks of LST in veg and harvested 5.75 oz dry weight! So any of you growers that are on the fence like I was you will not be disappointed.

Keep up the great Irish, work your making all of us better!
I am Glad your happy with ur lights! it makes sense to post ur 1st post at the founding place where ur journey started.
that is amazing yield from the 180w, just made me very happy, because my Casey Jones under the 180's and kicking ass! they have been flowering for 1 week and are already shooting out tons of hairs at all the bud sites, ive never had a plant flower so fast, usally it takes 2 weeks. they are happy as hell with the 180's.

Now my organic Jack Herer thats using the Xtreme Gardening products and teas are crazy! they are suck a beautiful green that ive never seen before! I have a ton of preflowering with resin all over the buds sites and i am not even flowering yet just vegging still, ive never ever seen that before either!! i am for a lost of words? all i know is i like it and its going to be some super frosty buds i think?

Congrats on that yield my friend thats a very very good yield for a plant!

Hey buddy!

I am Glad Mike took Care of you, he is a very good guy from the times ive talked to him. He's not into scamming people like other led company's. I heard that those 300's that were on sale for cheap were gone, those things go fast, but i am glade he still gave u a discount on ur order.

That 300w is bright as hell right?lol.

Ive had better results using less plants in my grow area's. so 4 plants would be very good in ur tent. ive gotten more yield from 4 plants then i did from 6 big plants, because their not fighting to space and light and shading each others bud sites. sometimes less is more.

my Favorite medium is Sun Shine#4 ive had the best results using that. if ur temps are hot them just use as is, if its colder in ur space and a little bit of perlite. always add 100% perlite to the very bottom of ur pots to help the drainage of the water. Dont need allot just enough to cover the drain holes on the bottom.

When watering try to water with something that waters like a shower head to create more O2 in the water and not make ur medium compact so much. always let tap water sit out for a day or 2 to let the chlorine evaporate, Filtered water might be best if ur city water is crap.

Get some Seaweed mix from the hydro store or online and just give ur girls that at 1st it will help them thrive and grow like crazy and it just dose so many things. Do a Google search on it for plants to see what i mean. The best thing you can feed a plant for sure!

any questions feel free to ask. i know a thing or 2 about growing and will try to help you.

do u mean the 120w? or did you get some a different company?

I just got in their new 2011 model today to test out, swapped out my 180's for it. left my 300's still to the old models for now. i will keep you guys posted on how the new model dose. I can say one thing for sure its a whole new completely different light its allot better quality and the fans are strong as hell in them, dosent even looks the same at all.

not sure if their out yet for sale though?

hope u told the owner about seeing them on my thread to see if he is still offering a discount?

Yeah man, a worm farm is super easy... but it's a pain in the ass to harvest the castings... I'm hoping to come up with something better than what I've seen. They say the castings are the third best natural fert. after guano and something else I've never heard off...

I almost just ordered 20lbs of castings for $25, but got a pound of worms for $35 instead... it will take them all year to make that much in castings, but hopefully they'll multiply so I'll get a lot more in the future.

i would have to disagree. the are the 1st or maybe 2nd after seaweed. casting are better then Guano IMO. very good as a soil mix, and bubble that shit with some carbs and watch the micro life come alive.

i went through gotham hydro for my setup its a 100w ufo 3 band for flower but i will supliment with cfls for heat so the grow will work out well i think. im going to try to find a good deal on a 3x3 grow tent. im wondering if i can run a 4" fan setup and get away with it or if i should go ahead and get the 6" and use a fan controller to turn down the noise. i will be running the 100w with like maybe 2 medium cfl's to keep the temps moderate. in the future i hope to run a 240w model you think the 4" setup will cool that still?
oh but ima post pics when i get it...... i was told the eta is wed so i will unbox it and let yall know what i think.... oh and just an update i repotted my ladies gave them a nute/molasses watering and they have already started to perk up and that droopy one is looking MUCH better.

Hello irishboy, cool grow, ive read some of ur earlyer grows, and ive have to say very interesting, but I have a question for you? how long do u keep LSt or the string on them, until u flower or till the other branches catch up with the main cola, or till you get a nice lay across the grow, I have thats very nice and I have some that just when back up verticle. Will take pics so u can check thanks

threw the whole grow, i tried on this grow to untie them in flower and my Casey Jones stayed LST but my Jacks took off and tried to grow straight up, so i had to retie them. So it is best to leave them tied the whole time. when the stalk gets fatter just make sure to use something that wont dig into the stalk.
