180w tent with Casey Jones 29 days in flower.

Bud growth stopped for a little bit from this Zinc Def and its cleared out a ton of resin. i think she's getting better already after feeding her some chelated Zinc/Iron a few days ago. One of the worse def problems ive ever had. i am sure yield will suffer big time if i cant get her worked out.

Heres some bud porn.

Jack Herer 21 days flowering.

i am loving these Xtreme Gardening products, my camera dosent even do justice these girls are very frosty, my camera just sucks at close ups. i have to have the led lights on just to show some of the resin. these girls are around 32" and as healthy as can be, they already passed up my CJ's and they were planted around 3 weeks after.

Heres the Casey Jones at 5 weeks flowering.

Things are not looking good for her and getting worse. the Zinc def is really getting her good. i dont know what to do? ive tried every thing from giving chelated Zinc/iron, to a micro nute Foliar spray. i think the problem is with the Soil/coco mix and its staying to wet and not enough drainage and her roots got damaged, she isnt really drinking anything at all. today i fed her with Some Humic acid to see if she is locked up or something.

She has a time line and if i dont see things getting better she is going to get pulled! no sense in waisting more time and just start over again, it sucks and ive wanted this strain for a long time.

Their allot worse looking in person, the led lights make them no look as bad.lol

Hey Irish, love your work and watching your 600W grow was what got me back into LED's. I'm running an LED grow right now and using 60% coco, 30% organic compost and 10% perlite so watching your nute issues in a similar mix has got me concerned. Any suggestions for how to avoid that or what might have caused it? I'm just on basic GH nutes and so far so good but anything I can learn from you to stay out of trouble is much appreciated.

thanks buddy.

the issue i am having i think? is my mix is a 50/50 coco/soil with not enough perlite and i am using Time Release Ferts that are putting too much salt in the medium since it stays water logged and wont drain it became a issue because i can flush. Humic Acid would have helped me big time if i would have added that in the get go. Humic acid is very good stuff to add to ur soil. you should be ok though if you just feed with water every so often and flush ur plants once every few weeks to a month. nothing hard core but just a little run off with plain water.

Been real interested in TRF's but that certainly is a problem. My nutes are the Flora Nova line by GH and it has humic acid and a bunch of minerals and organic stuff too. My first time with it but incredibly simple to use and I picked it cause if I have to go out of town it's super easy for the wife to operate :-) I've been real impressed and the plants look great right now so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

What kind of light do you use when you take your pics? I need to post some natural lighting pics but never seem to get the full lighting like you do

Nice fuckin grow man. I've been thinking about making the full switch to LED from HID for a few weeks now to get ready for the summer and stumbled across this thread. Glad I did, I'm sub'd

I've smoked both Casey Jones and Jack Herer, both are two of my favorites but I've only had Casey Jones once... :leaf:

GH makes some good nutes and nova is simple. its not good when u have trouble and some TRF's in the medium, becomes a monster out of control.lol. Humic acid seems to be helping the CJ's. To be honest organics is the way to go IMO crazy quality buds.

just the flash on my camera, the Jacks Herer pics i just turn off the lights since the plug is easy to reach. the CJ's are not as easy to get to the plug behind the tent.

man i hate the summer heat! i am getting ready also for that 110F temps. thank god for leds they help me allot because leds throw off less IR (radiant heat) then HID so it dosent dry out your leaves as much and cause heat stress. ive pulled off that last grow in 100F+ temps their whole life. couldn't do it with my old HPS

CJ is going to be some weaker smoke from the problems, but this Jack Herer is going to be one of a kind. never seen such good looking frosty jack or any plant this frosty. the camera dosent even show 75% of the frost.

CJ is a hard strain to find, I've only been able to sample it once and I remember it well...

I'm highly considering converting to the Blackstar 240 + Blackstar 600 for the summer. You seem to be the guy to go to for LED advice, what are your thoughts? The plan for now is to convert to LED for the summer to avoid having to run AC and back to HID in the winter. Thanks in advance for any input you may have :leaf:

bro to be honest the only leds i could recommend is the ones i use. everyone has great results and they even beat HPS in a side by side that i posted a link to on this thread. so no need to switch. the best advise i can give is to look for grow journals using the leds and make you call from what u see. dont go by what a company says, just look at the real growers results.

Thats some solid, honest advice. Don't believe the guys who are gonna make the money off you. Believe the guys actually putting them over plants. Kinda like reading consumer reports before you buy a car :-)

Got some more pics for us Irish?

That is why I am sub'd to this gorw, I really do not want to half ass it but it will cost me a ton of money to put 720w of your LEDs in my DR120 tent. My problem right now is time and money, I need to do the swap before the summer heat comes to San Diego. I started growing in May of last year but didn't run hps until late in the summer, I thought I was in the clear until we got a heat wave and nearly killed all of my plants. I had to completely shut down for almost 2 days, 2 of my pure sativa's yielded crap, probably due to growing in 100+ degree weather.

I probably won't have the funds for another 2 months or so, I have 10 plants that should be coming down between Feb 4th and mid to late March. The full switch to LED for the summer is one of my top priorities, I know for a fact I won't be able to grow this summer using HPS unless I buy another portable AC unit, and all that did last summer was drive up my electric bill another $100 to $200. I'd be more than happy if I can get similar results under LED and not have to switch back to hps in the winter.

i here you bro its 100+ where i live at also. just cant use HPS in those temps with my setup and no AC. led are my only choice, but it pays for more then its self in one grow in the summer heat when i would have to shut down with HID, so its win win for me, because i really like these lights. enough where i sold my HPS.lol. these lights arnt cheap thats for sure. you just have to really think about it and see if its worth it in ur case. i cant tell you what to do but just show you what they do for me and my grows. i am tripping off of that heat coming up soon, sumer seems to drag on but the cool winter fly by.lol

So my Casey Jones was just too damaged from the problems i was having, so i cut her down and threw some new girls in their. ive been looking for this strain for a long time and finally got my hands on it. These are SpaceQueen. today is their 1st day. it will be cool because now we can see the new 2011 (240w)models GLH led lights in action from start to finish. I have just one 240w light running at about 3' above them to break them in.

What does a set of lights like that cost? I also heard that LEDS weren't good enough yet to be able to get a good grow.
