well extruded has other advantages. save you 3-4" in height in many cases

slappy, it would work fine for yours at 35W

i have those... theyre ok. cheap but the base is thin so not as ideal as some of the thicker models. for much over say 30W/chip they are prob better used as actives with fans right over each cob
yeah, i plan on mounting a fan over each cob. fans and fan drivers are cheap. im looking at less than 100 to fan each cob. plus i get more practice soldering and wiring things lol.

im still not dead set on these bars. if you say individual is more efficient at cooling then i will go with those. i WILL NOT sacrifice function for looks. if they are even side by side i will do what looks better.

hey @CobKits the data page for the MeanWell HLG-120H-48A Driver says max 2.5, but you mention it will output 2.95A max current. How? Must i press a button?

Trying to figure out the cooling for running 2 Luminus on that driver.

If the max is 2.5 then i can safely use a 120MM, but if it's 2.95 i gotta get something with more cooling.

just turn the current pot all the way clockwise. look at teh test report, not the datasheet, its more realistic. all the meanwells are underspec'd

the 120s work fine at 1400 mA, 140s are better but 120s still keep chip in spec its not gonna burn it up.

you dont HAVE to run them full tilt :)

couple of quick updates:
-out of BJBs for clu048 right now, plenty of ideal holders tho. BJBs back in stock in 2 weeks
-all orders placed before yesterday shipped last night (aside from custom light engine orders which are in the works), USPS tracking is lagging due to the holidays i guess
- i just ate shit and slammed my head on the ice, ill be resting for a day, so dont freak if i dont get back to you right away, be careful out there!

I just did this with mine, I hadn't touched it before. I got one "click" brighter which is sorely needed right now.

What is the other pot for? It didn't seem to do anything.

I have just 100 watts of 4 1212s over a 2x3 area and I know they need more light but I must say I am really impressed so far.

Was wondering what set up you might recommend for a 32x32 tent (flower spectrum) any advice would be appreciated.

update:
made a major breakthrough on the clu-058 light engines. all new ones will be second generation with detachable reflectors (previously you had to unmount the chip to take off the reflector, as the reflector and the chip shared mounting screws). just a better setup all around. just spent two hours dremeling a bunch of the new holders, am covered in microscopic plastic bits (thank god for respirator lol). in addition to being better mounting for the chips, its just better optics all around- no relieving of the reflector and light leaks off to the side. reflector sits squarely and throws better pattern, users can remove reflectors easily as needed, or use any of the other compatible angelina designs with different angles, etc.

also will be adding mounting/hanging hardware inspired by @pop22 (thanks buddy i owe you one... scratched my head on this for a long time but you made it so easy :)

so.. a major upgrade and thanks to you guys who are waiting patiently... it will be worth it!

i will have the hanging hardware on tuesday and plan to ship them all on that day (usps 2-3 day, so we have them before christmas)
