Insight: Amare Tech Solar Spec LED Panels

I pinched the very top of the biggest baby (in the netpot F & D)

Babies are fighting for the light, getting bigger than the 260 footprint with light at 18”.

Time to move them out of the Igloo bubbler

I 'm going to convert a larger tote to F & D that I used back in my High Pressure Aero days, and use a T to feed both from the same rez

Easy- Peasy: parts on hand. Cutting the side wall down on the tote down will be the biggest problem


Done, but the previous hole is in a position where the bulkhead is leaking. Need to buy a new tote

I raised the panel: now ~ 30" above. Leafs were bleaching. Plants are much happier.

First big tote already had a drain hole, but it leaked when I installed the bulkhead

Replaced it with a new tote, which is too big, meaning the nutes don't fill it very much.

I added some jugs to help displace to some improvement

Hand watering to compensate

It's a temporary tray until the new tent gets here

Fresh nutes to both tents

FYI the SPYDR tent looks amazing. I added the 2 BML flowering bars to the outsides

AFAIK they are 5w


With all the changes I had to make, plants needed a couple days to acclimate

Newer leafs are darker green, lower leafs are lighter green. The contrast should be obvious tomorrow

A sure sign of too much light

I felt pics not important just now, but the 411 is

Babies have perked up with leafs praying – a combination of raising the 260 (as well as the 260 giving them the CW they need at this stage) and the nursery tote getting fed more (and fresh) nutrients

I cut away a bunch of pale leafs from 3 days being too close to the 260

The Big Baby on the left, in it's own F & D tote, is droopy this morning

The nursery is fine, both are feeding from the same rez

The difference is the BB tote has some algae, so I cleaned the tote, and am now soaking the roots in h2o2 in case there's something untoward going on inside the root ball. Nope nothing unusual was in the soaking water

Thinking further about this, BB is closer to the light, so I raised the light higher

The wire hanging harness is too long, which makes the light hang much lower.

Fortunately, I had 4 adjustable hangers on hand


I replaced it with 4 adjustable hangers

Hopefully, that solves it

Just checked (been ~ 2 hours) she's almost fully perked up

Pale leaves from proximity???............do you thoroughly wash your rock medium^^ between runs pet?????

Pretty sure the reason is the intensity of the SS 260

That plant, being bigger/taller was closer to the light

I'm giving up over 2ft between stand, tote/net pot lip

Then the height of plant all in a 6ft tent

Light was hanging from wire hangers which extended the light ~ 10"

That doesn't leave much space between


Plus this is the Equatorial version= more intensity

Maybe the lens angles are too tight.

I mentioned it to Amare

Big Baby (on the left) is just about 100% AGAIN.

I raised the panel another 2"

The moral of the story, don't put babies under such high intensity panels

I did this out of necessity as my veg tent crashed ~ 2 weeks ago, and I had sent the SS 100 to someone else

I would replace the SS 260 with the 2 x 150s, but the new tent should be here Monday

The plant in the lower left in the nursery is not doing well due to roots not hitting the nutes yet.

I need to take her out of the Air Pot so she can soak up more nutes

You know people veg / start seedlings / bloom under HID lighting right? (HID stands for HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE)

You know people don't use 1000w HID for it though, right? or keep it so close that is causes bleaching, right?

Just letting you guys know that the biggest draw back to using LED's is intensity especially when using 3w LEDs. The COB's are a big improvement for intensity but its more spectrum LEDs go for that's why I can put my LEDs up to touching without any problem.

Then why do leds have to be further away from the canopy than hps due to their intensity. 18 inches from the canopy is what most quality leds should sit at.. where hid is at 15 inches away hmmm.. Intensity = par. If an led has higher par than hps. It has more intensity

yeah it does. How do you think plant lighting is measured? A 1000w hps par is similar to that of led

Cobs have less penetration than an at200 or a51 when used like how all the DIY crew runs them(except positivity). It's because of the focusing of the lens. More photons force onto the measurement point. So even though cobs are the most efficient on paper...in reality with out focusing...they are possibly still behind the previous generation(219's and xte's) being focused.

And FYI...PAR=intensity. Everything people think about lumens is pretty close and is technically intensity...just replace lumens with PAR µmols and you have correct and accurate growth intensity. And yes LED's are as intense as HID...have you ever looked at the comparison PAR maps I have posted of the at600 vs 1000hps...equal, and thus equal intensity.

Combined that intensity/instantaneous PAR measurement with distance from the source they were taken...and you have penetration.

And as I wrote this Hyroot dropped the PAR maps right in the post above.

It bumbs up to 1200 with all 14* and holds the outer coverage still.

I'm trying to dig up the one they did of my 1000w hps.
