Indoor Growing Systems

I was thinking about using ( for my particular room) 6x6x10h a 1000 watt hps with cool tube with an inline fan to cool...I have absolutely no way to being in air from a basement or crawlspace so am deciding on a portable ac> which I hear you do not vent..which means I will only be venting the cooltube...
one 1000 watt hps for 1 aquamists system and one Ebb and Flow system..wanted more aquamists but caught a hell of a deal on an entire Ebb and Flow of Craiglist for only $50 so I thought I would scoop that up and make it work under the same light and next to my brand new aquamist....any suggestions/debates??? Thanks

Hi, i am new to the world og growing. I was just wondering what kind of light u r using. Most of the sites i'v been on say i need a 400 watt on up light system. So to put a system together for $50 made me wonder about ur lights. Btw do u know what sites have the cheepest lights, ballest and reflecters. :P thanks

i had a couple of questions about growing, and i can't seem to find anything relating to it. is it necessary to put extra nutrients in the water for the plants? and will it help if i cover the walls with tinfoil? i'm just starting to grow, so i'm starting off with a few plants in my closet at this point, since i don't have a lot of cash on hand to spend on expensive equipment

If you are using soil then most of the nutrients are in the soil. If you are thinking anout going hydroponic then yes. Tin foil is not good as it creates hot spots and can kill plants. Painting walls flat white will be better. Do a search for Panda Film. It is an affordable plastic film that is white on oneside and black on the other. You can find it on ebay. There is so much info on this site about all types of ways to grow. YouTube as some videos as well in the mature area. Everyone on this site will help you in anyway we can. Welcome!:weed:

Hey guys, here is a cheap easy, easy aero setup. It took me about a half hour to throw together. 4 half inch ID compression fittings, 1 Tee, 2 feet of half inch raindrip line, 8 raindrip sprayers, 1 264 gph pump although I would reccomend a 500 gph pump now, and a bucket, round or square whatever. You could substitute the square shaped rack for a simple one piece loop around the bottom and you'd be set. It works well even with the smaller pump if thats all you got. Hello all and Have fun, just love this forum! And mary.

how much do you think each system would cost?
I was wondering the same thing. What is an expensive setup? I see some people talking about spending $50 on their grow setup, and here I'm ready to spend at least $600 not sure where that would get me.

I like the 2nd design, any idea how much that type of setup would cost? I'm not sure how the plants are getting water in that setup, but I'm leaning towards a drip system or ebb & flow deal. Which would be better for veg or flowering?

There is another thread out there that every one post how much there setup cost them ...... a nice setup could run you up to a thousand. I have two rooms setup veg/flower it cost me around a 1000 for everything, and i had my own wood to build the rooms that just all the supplies for the setup.

I'm not sure if this posted before, but, here I go again. I'm considering purchasing a MINI COOL CAB grow cabinet. What are your thoughts on these types of devices? It's a little costly, but, it carries what I assume to be all of the necessary equipment to get my horticulture on. I would LOVE to be able to turn some of Louisiana's "so-so" into WHOA!!(quite frankly, unless I move wayyyyy out, outdoor growing is far to risky).

The mini Cool Cab is way too short to grow unless you're running indica 12/12 from seed.
