I am trying to find someone who has successfully done greenhouse growing and ask them some questions. I live in a remote area, great for outdoor, but not so good for indoor due to electricity problems. (I am on a generator) Any ideas?

hi hubert dude..

was wondering if u could help me identify my baby..as of today she is in her 17th day of flowering..we planted her from a seedling that came in a random bag..she's the biggest one we have out of 3 plants.

She is about 73cm tall (28inches - 2'3") and about 4 months old..the last time we checked (2nd day of flower)

she's got some reddish stigmas growing out of her pistils..

here are some pics of her..sorry for the resolution dudes but i only have my cellphone cam to work with..

hope it's good enough for any vet grower's eye like yours and the rest:weed:

thanks much for any input

Don't cut off your fan leaves, they are the powerplants of the whole operation!

As for your plans to lollypop your plants, I'd leave them for a while yet until the main stalk has plenty of leaves to support itself. Cutting them prematurely will more than likely slow the growth rate.

I haven't, so any advice would be ill-gotten.

Yo Hubert... I've really just started to grow, but I read alot... Like ALOT!!! So I know all the basics. But one thing I wanna know since I'm a Soil grower my self is how can I improve Topsoil? Like I bought a big bag of it and I was wanting to add my own mix to it. I've been using Fox Farm Ocean Forest, but it burns some strain early on. So any advice would be helpful and greatly appreciated. Peace.

Well the bigger the better, but you probably could squeeze an ounze out of a 1 gallon pot with the proper attention payed. Again though, bigger is better and a 2 gallon pot would increase your odds.

I don't use alot of soil additives, but the one thing every grower should have is a bag of perlite on the go all the time. I usually mix 2 parts soil to 1 part perlite to help 'fluff' up the mix, and increase the drainage. Worm castings are also one of those things I usually have around, an easy nitrogen boost.

What is the earliest you can top a plant
You can top pretty early on, but it's generally a good idea to wait until you have a few well established 'branches' so that when you do cut the top off the plant still has enough leaves to maintain itself.

I'd still like to know if anyone here has any experience with Jasmonic Acid, it seems to me that it could do wonderous things for us growers. It's somewhat similar to Artificial Defoliation, and when combined with (although this is still controversial for some reason) UVB light may have some great effects for us...the smokers.

So if anyone knows anything about these topics please chime in, I'd really like to know what you think about it.

I thought this was a thread were noobies like me could ask one of the veteran growers a few questions & how to's on methods.

Was I wrong :eyesmoke:
Not at all, this thread is for just that ;-) I do need to slip in the odd question from time to time though, there are alot of things left to learn

I have a few plants that are curling under at the tips of the leaves. I dont know what might be causing this. Any ideas?
If they are curling down you may be overwatering, but they could be rootbound too. In case they are curling up (although I think you mean down) it could be heat stress, or maybe a magnesium defficiency.
