I Want Big BUDS!

Big bud and all of those early bloom additives are a waste of money, all they do is pump your soil medium full of salt build up which lock out nutrients later in the plants life.
Blood bud, bug ignitor, big bud .. They are all a waste of money. I should know, i've tried them.. There is nothing that is going to make your plant grow faster or make your plant grow abnormally bigger buds. The plant can only grow within its means and a "bloom booster" is not going to change that, Honestly !! I'm not trying to knock anyones game, just trying to save you money. I've tried "Ultra" from bloom yellow bottles, bud ignitor, big bud. You name it i've used it. I spent thousands and What ended up happening was nutrient lock out around week 5-6 which ended up lowering overall yields because the plant became deficient.

All you really need is a PK around week 5-6 to give it a kick in the ass. If you have a complete nutrient line up (mine is cutting Edge) there is no need for early bloom boosters. My current crop i didn't use any bloom booster additives, I am at week 5 (about to add pk) and they are in great shape and no burning! They are exactly the same as when i tried using early bloom boosters. It only took me a year to realize i didn't need any of the early bloom booster additives !! SMH.

If you have the balls, try a side by side. One plant with no bloom boosters and one with, I could almost guarantee you there would be no difference in size going into week 5-6

Makes sense. I was using AN products (mostly their 'organic') ones my last grow and I was getting low yields and lock out in weeks 5-6 and deficiencies as well. I do think a lot depends on genetics. Newer hybrids didn't yield as much. I got good yields from some strains grown the same way, nutes, conditions, etc. These were usually freebies I would try along the strains I really wanted to grow. Now I'm looking into super soils for my next grow.

Into week 5 of flower and am using MOAB - In a matter of days I have seen a huge dense explosion of buds from my nodes.
I wil continue to DO full mOab twice a week and then nute only the other water.
I think its great stuff !!
Although some books say thAT synthetic bloom agents are much better at densing the buds out !!

thoughts.

You are absolutely right. Some strains can with stand a lot of feeding ! It's all about genetics in this game and you really have to go through tons of strains before you find a keeper. !

If you want to stick with the Advanced line you should use Big Bud. The powder or liquid is fine, but I feel the powder is a bit stronger. Feed all through out flower cycle. It works wonders. MOAB or Super Bud Blaster work and are not very expensive.

MOAB is awesome and it works, really puts on the trichs. Also use AN overdrive, its the one and only AN product I use and only use it in the last two weeks before flush. This shit will really pack on the weight. Cut nutes back to half strength if you intend to use both together.

Gravity works well to help with bud swell. The first step to large buds is a good sized healthy plant. Lighting also has a lot to do with bud size and density. A friend of mine did his first grow under 250w HPS and the yield was not that great. On his second and 3rd grow he switched to a 750w HPS all other things the same and yield more than doubled.
gravity is a flower hardener not to increase flower size. Your plant has to be in good health to use it, and you would start using it around wk 4 or 5 and stop a wk before harvest. Even thou it says to use up until harvest, people would agree with me to stop use of it a wk before harvest or not use it at all if the buds are meds for patients.

Yes, gravity has some not so healthy ingredients for consumption like paclobutrazol. If you grow a nice healthy plant, IMO you don't need to use a product like that. I am all for using additives at the right times, but even an expensive additive is practically worthless if your not growing a healthy plant in a healthy environment. My friend uses BushLoad which is similar to Gravity in the sense that it is a strong PGR and contains paclo. I know that if he would adjust his environment and the way he gardens that he would not have to rely on using a PGR. I have seen what they can do and Im not saying they don't "work." I just don't think its necessary. Something like Overdrive or even Shooting powder packs on weight. It is a little tempting to use a PGR to stop stretching with some strains, but again, I would rather do some manipulating and toping to keep the height from being a problem.

As a beginner, I assumed big buds were a factor of the nutrients you could treat them to. I would buy anything and everything, trying infinite combinations of additives for all stages of growth. There was a constant urgency towards more...more...more...the golden formula must be nearing I thought. So, onward I proceeded using products that were redundant, costly, and inneffective and in overdose quantities. My garden was doing decent, I thought....didn't know better but I was not getting the crazy buds that this nutrient investment deserved. I began to understand more the function of each component that made up this massive recipe, and saw that many aspects were pointless. My decision was to cut all the additives to 1/2 strength first, then it was feeding more often, I tried just to listen and nothing was happening. In all of this, it was difficult to keep to this level of commitment as circumstance brought hardship towards me physically, financially, and logistically all in unison. Basically, the least I could do and still see a harvest was my new reality and I tried to just be really minimal. I watered less often letting plants get "dangerously" thirsty and used a simple recipe and neglect as I saw it, was working well. With this, less was more in a big way.....I couldn't care for them like I used to and they loved it and so did I. Sounds improbable but, the limits taught me the essential lesson I had been ignoring.
